Chapter 288 - 172: Advancement to Level 2 Liquefaction, Gu Lin’s Farewell
Chapter 288: Chapter 172: Advancement to Level 2 Liquefaction, Gu Lin’s Farewell
The deal went very smoothly.
When they heard Pei Ze planned to sell Divine Thought Potions, Yang Hui and Yue Neng were thrilled and agreed without the slightest hesitation.
Like Resonance Potions, Divine Thought Potions were a resource many Wizards desperately needed.
In fact, to some extent, Divine Thought Potions were even more precious than Resonance Potions.
Resonance Potions were expensive, true, but there were at least channels to acquire them.
Yet, almost no Alchemists sold Divine Thought Potions.
Only those from a Wizard Clan or Wizards who had joined the Silver Light Legion had a way of obtaining them.
The crucial point was that Divine Thought Potions were more cost-effective than Faith Crystals. The money to buy two Faith Crystals was enough to purchase nearly three bottles of Divine Thought Potion, and their effects were comparable.
It was safe to say that if word got out that an Alchemist was selling Divine Thought Potions, a flood of Wizards would be lining up to purchase them.
An item this good, which could help condense one’s Spiritual Power, would never lack for buyers.
Yang Hui and Yue Neng then hastily departed the residence, planning to go back and sell some of their belongings to scrape together enough money for a few bottles of Divine Thought Potion.
They couldn’t miss such a rare opportunity. This was their key to breaking through to the liquid stage in the future.
Watching them leave with a smile, Pei Ze returned to his Meditation Room. He sat down cross-legged and placed a Divine Thought Potion before him.
"Omniscience, check my current status."
[Spiritual Power: 192.00]
[Physique: 149.09]
After eight days of training, Pei Ze’s Spiritual Power had finally reached its limit of 192.
’I’ve finally met the standard for liquefaction. Now I can start condensing my Spiritual Power.’
Suppressing his joy, Pei Ze took a deep breath, picked up a bottle of supreme-grade Divine Thought Potion, uncorked it, and downed it in one go. Then, he began to condense his Spiritual Power.
After doing this several times, he was now quite adept at condensing his Spiritual Power.
Whenever he felt his momentum falter, he would take another Divine Thought Potion.
These were all high-grade and supreme-grade Divine Thought Potions he had specifically set aside for his own use, their effects a cut above the standard ones.
An unknown amount of time passed. As Pei Ze consumed his thirty-third bottle of Divine Thought Potion, deep within his Sea of Consciousness, the gaseous Spiritual Power inside his second Spirit Crystal finally condensed into a liquid.
This meant that Pei Ze had officially broken through to the Second-Order Liquid Stage.
’Success.’
Pei Ze let out a long sigh of relief, his face beaming with joy.
He was another step closer to becoming an Elemental Mage.
Without delay, Pei Ze immediately took out a Purified Soul Crystal Stone and began his Meditation.
When he finished his Meditation, he summoned the Eye of Omniscience and saw that his Spiritual Power had increased by 0.31.
’Good. The decrease wasn’t that significant.’
’The Spiritual Power threshold for the peak of the liquid stage is 384. At my current pace, it will take about twenty-one months.’
Pei Ze mused for a moment.
That wasn’t a long time at all.
The further a Wizard progressed, the longer each breakthrough would take.
It was normal for an ordinary Wizard to spend ten or even twenty years breaking through from the Second-Order Liquid Stage to the second-order crystallized stage.
Many more Wizards, due to a lack of aptitude and resources, would remain stuck at the Second-Order Liquid Stage their entire lives, unable to break through.
For him to take less than two years was already astonishing.
This was especially true considering the Spiritual Power level he needed for a breakthrough was much higher than an ordinary Wizard’s.
If it weren’t for the Visualization Secret Technique and Purified Soul Crystals, his breakthrough time would be measured in decades at the very least.
’If only I could find a wondrous item that directly boosts Spiritual Power, like a Sacred Spirit Bud or Unicorn Essence Blood. That would shorten the time immensely.’
Snapping out of his reverie, Pei Ze stood up and left the Meditation Room.
The moment he stepped through the door, a shadowy gleam streaked toward him. It went from extreme motion to absolute stillness in an instant, coming to a halt on Pei Ze’s shoulder.
It was Wuyu.
"Finished devouring them all?" Pei Ze asked with a smile, stroking the little one’s head.
The latter gently pecked Pei Ze’s cheek and let out a low cry.
Pei Ze nodded in satisfaction.
Tong Ming was very efficient. Over the past few days, he had successively delivered a large number of crow-type Magical Creatures, including over six hundred Red-eyed Crows, over three hundred Funeral Crows, and three Netherworld Crows.
In addition, there were also various scattered crow-type Magical Creatures like Poison Dusk Crows, Storm Crows, and Stone-blind Crows.
Wuyu had devoured every last one of them.
The little one’s power had grown considerably during this time.
Pei Ze then took Wuyu to the Magic Laboratory to run some tests and quickly verified his speculation.
Some time ago, Pei Ze had noticed something. After devouring a large number of Red-eyed Crows, Wuyu’s ability to see through Illusion Techniques seemed to have stopped improving. Or rather, it no longer scaled with the number of Red-eyed Crows it consumed. It would only grow stronger gradually as Wuyu’s own power increased.
For example, when he broke through to the Second-Order Liquid Stage, Wuyu’s power rose in tandem, and only then did its ability to see through Illusion Techniques show a distinct improvement.
’It seems each type of magic-like ability has a consumption limit. Once that limit is reached, devouring more crow-type Magical Creatures of the same species has no effect.’
Pei Ze estimated that Wuyu had devoured over a thousand Red-eyed Crows to date.
Its consumption limit was likely around a thousand.
’The consumption limits for Funeral Crows and Netherworld Crows are probably higher. After all, when Wuyu first inherited their magic-like abilities, it had to devour far more of them than it did the Red-eyed Crows.’
Of course, even though the consumption limit had been reached, he had to continue collecting Red-eyed Crows.
Even if it couldn’t continue to strengthen the ability to see through Illusion Techniques, with every Magical Creature it devoured, Wuyu’s power would still increase by a sliver.
After finishing the tests, Pei Ze let Wuyu go off on its own and headed toward the backyard.
As he passed through the first-floor hall, he saw Xiaoyi being doted on by a group of Flower Fairies. They surrounded her like stars around the moon—some massaged her legs, others fanned her, and still others fed her nectar. She looked utterly content.
