After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 438 - 423: Jiang Xia’s Open Class
Chapter 438: Chapter 423: Jiang Xia’s Open Class
Early in the morning, sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, spilling onto the wooden floor. A gentle breeze parted the drapes, bringing with it the sound of birdsong.
Jiang Xia slowly woke in the luxurious villa. Beside him lay his dear wife. A corner of the blanket, slightly lifted, revealed a sliver of bright, fair skin. Red marks dotted the delicate, smooth surface, a testament to the previous night’s passion.
He rolled onto his side and lifted a finger to trace the corner of his wife’s slightly pursed lips. The delicate sensation on his fingertip made his heart stir as a restless heat slowly began to build within him.
Lin Yanwan’s long eyelashes trembled, and her eyelids twitched. She opened her eyes a crack, and the blurry figure before her gradually sharpened into focus.
"Morning, babe," Jiang Xia said with a small smile.
Lin Yanwan didn’t answer. Feeling his leg press against hers, she shot him a look that was both flirtatious and utterly bewitching. She then parted her lips slightly and licked the tip of his finger.
"Darling, it’s so early. Don’t start something, all right?" Jiang Xia’s nostrils flared faintly, his ragged, hot breath ghosting across her face.
Lin Yanwan blinked, gave him a firm squeeze, then giggled as she rolled out of bed. She was the perfect example of someone who likes to flirt and run.
She had a class with the vice dean this morning, so a morning workout was definitely out of the question.
Jiang Xia watched her casually get dressed in front of him and shook his head with a helpless smile. ’I guess after living together for so long, we’ve both lost any sense of shame in private.’
’Back in the day, she would blush from a simple kiss, let alone me staring at her like this.’
’He couldn’t help but recall their passionate encounter in his office. They had both been terrified of being discovered, forcing them to hold back the entire time, which had only made it all the more thrilling and intense.’
"Hubby, which outfit should I wear?" Lin Yanwan asked, her butt sticking out as she rummaged through the closet. She pulled out a few items and held them up against her chest for him to see.
"Aren’t you going to class? Just wear something simple."
"What about this skirt and white blouse, then?"
"The temperature in the Imperial Capital has dropped. Wear an extra layer so you don’t catch a cold."
"Hmm, what if I wear a knit sweater over it? Is that okay?"
"That’s fine."
Jiang Xia smiled and gave his wife’s soft rear a gentle pat before pulling on a cotton T-shirt and getting out of bed himself.
He walked out onto the balcony and gazed into the distance. The villa was especially quiet in the morning. A light breeze caressed his face, rich with the fragrance of flowers and damp earth.
Jiang Xia took a few deep breaths of the crisp air and did some simple stretches. When he returned to the bedroom, his wife was already dressed.
She wore a black satin skirt with an elegant chiffon blouse, her voluminous, slightly curled hair draped over her shoulders. With her bright red lips and slender, willow-leaf eyebrows, she looked absolutely stunning.
"So?" Lin Yanwan looked at Jiang Xia’s reflection in the full-length mirror and gave a little twirl.
"My wife is so beautiful. Good enough to eat," Jiang Xia praised.
A faint smile played on her lips as she cupped his face and gave him a deep kiss.
"Let’s go. We’ll eat breakfast first, then I’ll drive you to class."
"Mhm."
The two walked downstairs hand in hand. The housekeeper had already prepared breakfast: a vegetable salad, a fruit platter, sandwiches, steamed dumplings, and seafood congee. The portions of each dish weren’t huge, but it was a nutritious, balanced meal with more than enough to fill them up.
"Sister Yang, thank you for your hard work," Jiang Xia said with a smile.
"You’re too kind, Boss."
Their housekeeper had been found by Li Weiya through an acquaintance. A diligent woman in her forties, she had over a decade of experience. She was responsible for their three meals a day and for cleaning the villa, both inside and out, a job she took very seriously.
After breakfast, Jiang Xia drove his wife to the university for her class.
His Volkswagen Lavida was already famous on campus. The moment anyone saw the license plate, they knew the renowned President Jiang was back for class.
He parked in a lot near the School of Economics and Management. Lin Yanwan put on a baseball cap and a mask, then turned to Jiang Xia. "Are you heading back to the company?"
"How about I go to class with you?"
"Really?" Lin Yanwan’s face immediately lit up.
Jiang Xia used to accompany her to class often, but that was mostly back when they first started university. As his work got progressively busier, it happened less and less.
"Yeah, really," Jiang Xia said with a smile. ’He didn’t have class this morning, and the company didn’t need him to keep a constant eye on things. It would be nice to sit in on a class with his wife for a change.’
After getting out of the car, he took his wife’s hand and headed for the School of Economics and Management Building. Many people recognized the pair at a glance, but given his status, they could only watch from a distance.
As they entered the classroom, they immediately drew everyone’s attention. The couple, long accustomed to such reactions, walked to the back row and sat in the seats Qiuting had saved for them.
"Morning, Boss, Boss Lady," Cui Jiaying greeted cheerfully, turning around in her seat.
The small group was quite close. The former boss-employee dynamic had faded, and their personal friendship had grown even stronger.
"Morning to you guys, too," Jiang Xia said with a chuckle.
"Boss, it’s been a while since we’ve seen you accompany the Boss Lady to class," Si Si chimed in teasingly.
"I happened to have some free time today. What, not welcome? Fine, I’ll leave." Though he said that, he showed no intention of actually getting up.
"Of course you’re welcome! If anyone dared to not welcome President Jiang, I’d be the first to jump up and take ’em down!" Cui Jiaying said, shaking her fist.
"Not bad. A reward for your loyal protection. I’ll guarantee you another spot on the trending page this month."
"Hehe! Long live the boss!"
The group chatted and laughed in low voices while other students kept glancing toward Jiang Xia, their hearts filled with envy. They didn’t have that kind of connection, but Si Si and Cui Jiaying, simply by virtue of being Lin Yanwan’s roommates, were now already well-known, high-profile creators on D Station.
Rumor had it the two of them were easily earning tens of thousands a month.
