After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn

Chapter 435: Chapter 421: Battle in the Office (Part 2)
She walked behind Jiang Xia’s office chair and gently wrapped her arms around his neck, unconsciously pushing out her hips and accentuating the full, peach-like curve of her bottom.
"I just finished my voice acting work and thought I’d come see my dear husband."
Jiang Xia smiled faintly. Feeling the pillowy softness against the back of his head, he expertly turned and planted a kiss on his wife’s delicate cheek.
"How long have you been sitting?" Lin Yanwan asked, glancing at the storyboards on his desk.
Jiang Xia glanced at the time. It was almost 5 p.m. Besides drawing storyboards, people had been constantly coming into his office to give him reports. Before he knew it, he had been sitting in his chair for over three hours.
"Not long."
"Liar." Lin Yanwan rolled her eyes. "Get up and stand for a bit. Do you want to get hemorrhoids at your age?"
Jiang Xia retorted, "No way. I do my kegels."
’Is he really doing kegels to prevent hemorrhoids,’ Lin Yanwan thought, too embarrassed to call him out, ’or is it to build his stamina?’
"Hmph. You still need to get up and stand for a while."
He suddenly yawned. Now that he was relaxing, the fatigue from the entire afternoon washed over him.
"Can I lie down? I want to nap for a bit."
Lin Yanwan nodded. The reason prolonged sitting could easily lead to hemorrhoids was that the entire body’s weight rested on the backside, which could, over time, cause issues in that area. Lying down, on the other hand, distributed the weight across the entire body and was the best way to restore one’s energy.
She sat on the leather sofa nearby and patted her soft, rounded thighs, gesturing for Jiang Xia to lie on them. "Go ahead and sleep. I’ll massage your temples and help you relax."
Jiang Xia didn’t stand on ceremony. He kicked off his shoes, rested his head on his wife’s lap, and closed his eyes, comfortably enjoying the soft lap pillow and massage.
"Is this pressure okay?" Lin Yanwan asked, gently massaging his pressure points.
"You can go a little harder."
Jiang Xia inhaled the subtle fragrance wafting from his wife, breathing in deeply before exhaling. A pleasant, tingling sensation spread across his scalp. ’This is the life,’ he sighed to himself.
He slowly opened his eyes. From this angle, his view was half-blocked by a magnificent mountain range, leaving only one side to see his wife’s beautiful face.
As the old poem goes: "A range from one view, a peak from another; its form ever-changing from every angle."
He was now truly experiencing its meaning.
"Didn’t you say you wanted to nap? Why aren’t you sleeping?" Lin Yanwan asked, looking down at him.
"My eyes are captivated by the beautiful scenery."
Jiang Xia stared intently, continuing to observe details he didn’t usually notice. Unfortunately, his wife was currently clothed. If they were at home...
He swallowed, his throat suddenly dry.
Lin Yanwan’s face flushed. As if she didn’t know where he was looking—and with such focus, too. It wasn’t like he’d never seen them before.
"Enough with the sweet talk. Hurry up and sleep," she said, glaring at him with a mix of shyness and annoyance.
If Jiang Xia were the type to be so obedient, he wouldn’t be Jiang Xia. Being contrary was practically his defining trait.
"Darling, could you lean down a little?"
Lin Yanwan: "..."
She playfully swatted at Jiang Xia’s increasingly restless paws. "President Jiang, watch yourself. You’re in the office right now, and the door isn’t even locked. Aren’t you afraid someone might just walk in?"
Jiang Xia’s breath hitched. He glanced at the door. It was indeed a bit risky.
He fidgeted with his fingers, his gaze fixed on the shadowed valley before him, internally debating whether he should get up and lock the door.
Lin Yanwan silently glanced down at his pants, sighed softly, and gently lifted Jiang Xia’s head. She then got up, walked to the window to draw the curtains, and went to the door to bolt it shut.
Jiang Xia chuckled. He wrapped his arms around her slender waist and gently pulled aside her high-waisted cardigan, revealing one of her snow-white shoulders. He slowly leaned in to kiss it, his voice tinged with suggestion.
"Baby, you locked the door and drew the curtains... what are you planning?"
A bashful look appeared on Lin Yanwan’s face. "Aren’t you the one who wants to do naughty things in the office?"
Jiang Xia’s heart burned with excitement. An office tryst was every boss’s dream, and what’s more, this was his own wife.
"Since you put it that way..."
He wrapped his arms around his wife’s waist and gently placed her on the desk.
◇
"Ah Xia."
Outside, Li Weiya knocked on the door of Jiang Xia’s office, a stack of financial reports in her arms. She was about to report this month’s financial situation to him, but there was no response after several knocks.
"Ah Xia, are you in there?"
No one answered.
Inside, Lin Yanwan’s breathing was rapid. She pressed a hand tightly over her mouth. Pinned against the desk, she felt as if the entire world were shaking.
"Shhh—"
Jiang Xia put a finger to his lips but didn’t stop moving.
Li Weiya frowned. ’Is Ah Xia not here?’
She tried turning the handle, only to find it wouldn’t budge. The door seemed to be locked from the inside.
"It’s Godmother," Lin Yanwan whimpered, her voice suppressed.
Jiang Xia tilted his head, listening for any sounds from outside. When the knocking stopped, he whispered, "Godmother’s gone. She must think I’m not in the office."
"Quick, mute your phone! What if she calls you when she can’t find you..."
"Oh, right."
Jiang Xia quickly grabbed his phone from the side and switched it to silent mode. Now, even if his godmother called, he could just ignore it.
Sure enough, less than a minute later, Li Weiya’s call came through. But after ringing for a long time, all she got was the automated response: "The number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
She furrowed her brow. This was strange. He wasn’t in the office, and he wasn’t answering his phone.
She turned and walked to the front desk. "Xiao Tong, has President Jiang gone out?"
The receptionist quickly checked the president’s activity log and shook her head. "President Jiang came back to the company this afternoon and hasn’t left since."
Li Weiya frowned slightly. He hadn’t left, but he wasn’t in his office, and the door was locked. That was odd.
Besides, it was almost the end of the workday. Where could he have gone?
She nodded, preparing to head back to her own office. She would just report to Jiang Xia later when she saw him.
"Xiao Tong, if you see President Jiang, please let me know."
"Yes, President Li."
As Li Weiya turned to leave, the receptionist suddenly remembered something and quickly called out to her. "Oh, President Li! Director Lin also came by a little while ago. I don’t think I’ve seen her leave yet."
Hearing this, Li Weiya subconsciously glanced at the closed door of the president’s office. Her expression suddenly became quite colorful. No wonder he hadn’t answered the door and had it bolted from the inside. To think that they were... they were...
’In broad daylight, before the employees have even gone home, they dare to sneak in a little office tryst, is that it?’
’Those two kids... They’ve really got some nerve.’
As someone who’d been around, Li Weiya could guess what those two were getting up to in the office with her eyes closed. It was a good thing she was the one who’d found them. If it had been anyone else, wouldn’t their cover have been blown by now?
Realization dawned on her, and she turned back around. "Oh, Xiao Tong, I remember now. President Jiang called me earlier and said he had a dinner meeting tonight. He’s probably resting in his office and asked not to be disturbed. As for Director Lin, she’s in my office discussing something with me."
"Oh, okay, I understand." Xiao Tong nodded quickly, making a mental note of it.
Li Weiya let out a small sigh of relief, though she felt a bit helpless. The two of them were having their little office rendezvous, and she, the godmother, had to be the one to clean up their mess.
Taking a deep breath, Li Weiya clicked away on her high heels and headed straight back to her own office.
About half an hour later, Jiang Xia and Lin Yanwan concluded their intense battle.
Lin Yanwan was lying on her back on the desk. She slowly sat up, shot Jiang Xia an annoyed and bashful glare, and began to straighten her disheveled clothes.
The storyboards that had been on the desk were now scattered all over the floor.
