After Pampering Her 5 Beast Husbands, the Villainess Struck It Rich

Chapter 222: Chapter 219: Did you hear that?
While giving her a bath, Sang Mo struggled. He had never served anyone before, and a female’s clothes weren’t as simple as a Beastman’s. With a twist here and a button there, he found undressing her to be a real hassle.
Bai Zhi hesitated, wanting to say she could just do it herself. She had just begun to speak, “I’ll do it my—”
Before she could finish, Sang Mo lifted his cold, serious face and stared at her, his gaze an unspoken question: ‘What were you going to say?’
A single look was all it took to make her swallow the rest of her words.
Seeing she had nothing more to say, Sang Mo knitted his brows and continued undressing her. In the end, fed up with the trouble, he simply ripped her clothes to shreds.
The hot water instantly cascaded over her, and the sudden heat made Bai Zhi’s body instinctively shudder.
Fortunately, everything went smoothly after that. Bai Zhi was actually quite exhausted, but she still lifted her limp arms to cooperate with Sang Mo.
She had grown used to them bathing her. They always washed her clean afterward—sometimes she was awake, sometimes she was asleep, but she always woke up feeling fresh and dry.
‘But is this Sang Mo’s first time?’
She thought back to the first time she had been with Sang Mo. He certainly hadn’t been so considerate as to wash her afterward. It was unexpected that after all this time, he would now take the initiative to do so.
Soon, Sang Mo finished bathing her, and Bai Zhi breathed a sigh of relief.
Having secured Bai Zhi’s promise, Sang Mo brazenly occupied the seat on her other side at dinner that evening.
Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen came out, roughhousing as usual, only to see Sang Mo sitting in Yue Junxiao’s spot. Remembering what happened last time, Yue Junxiao pouted but sensibly found another seat.
When Hu Yan and Bai Zhi emerged from the kitchen, they saw how the others were seated. Bai Zhi immediately recalled the time her bowl had been piled high with food, and her eye twitched.
Sang Mo said with a smirk, “Sit.”
Bai Zhi was speechless.
Hu Yan frowned slightly but said nothing, taking the lead and carrying the dishes over.
Seeing Hu Yan go, Bai Zhi quickly followed and placed the dishes on the table.
The moment she sat down, she felt an indescribable pressure from both sides.
Sang Mo placed some food in her bowl. “Eat.”
Seeing this, Bai Zhi expected a repeat of that day. To her surprise, however, they didn’t act as strangely as last time. Although they still put food in her bowl, there was no tit-for-tat rivalry. It was as if they had reached a truce.
As Bai Zhi breathed a sigh of relief, a hint of a smile touched her eyes.
The next day, countless people from the Black Domain spontaneously organized and gathered below the hotel where they were staying. They raised their hands and shouted.
“Lord Sang Mo!”
“We hope Lord Sang Mo will restore the Black Domain!”
“Lord Sang Mo! Lord Sang Mo!”
Hearing the clamor from downstairs, Bai Zhi and the others walked to the window to look down.
Yan Yichen gazed at the dense crowd below and voiced his confusion. “Why are they coming to Sang Mo now that Hades is dead? In all these years, has the Black Domain not produced anyone else capable of leading besides them?”
Hu Yan glanced down before revealing the truth. “Of course, there are others who want to take power. But the people down there are a mix. Some of them witnessed the Black Domain’s former glory, and others are simply hoping it can be truly restored. Sang Mo was the one who led them back then. Though he has his personality flaws, as long as he can give them a better life, who cares if his personality is good or not?”
Lang Qiu nodded. “They don’t really care who sits in that position. They only care about who can give them a good life. Besides, Sang Mo’s personality is just unlikable; he doesn’t go around killing people at the slightest provocation. As long as you don’t provoke him, he won’t do anything. They naturally prefer a ruler like that. Even if they’re afraid of Sang Mo, they don’t have to interact with him often. Their livelihood is obviously more important.”
“And after so many years of oppression, they’re desperate for their lives to improve. You don’t understand the mindset of people who have been oppressed for so long and finally see a glimmer of hope. How could they possibly nitpick over such a small detail?”
After hearing Hu Yan and Lang Qiu’s explanations, Yan Yichen and Yue Junxiao finally understood why the people below were acting this way.
It was like people who had lived in darkness for years—they were desperate for sunlight.
In their eyes, Sang Mo was the one who could bring them that sunlight.
Yue Junxiao watched for a moment, then, as if suddenly remembering something, turned to Sang Mo and asked, “Didn’t you already agree? Aren’t you going down to see them?”
Just then, Sang Mo tilted his chin slightly toward the street below. “The person handling it has arrived.”
His words made everyone follow his gaze.
It was the man named Sa Lei, who had visited a few times before. He was leading a group of men and quickly approached the crowd.
It was unclear what Sa Lei said to them, but the people grew excited, glanced up at their floor, and then quickly left with him.
After everyone had departed, Sa Lei bowed toward the room where Sang Mo and the others were, then left as well.
Yue Junxiao stared blankly at the now-empty street. “Th-they’re already gone?”
Sang Mo was turning to go back inside when he heard Yue Junxiao’s comment. He tossed back, “If you want to go with them, you can still catch up.”
Yue Junxiao wanted to retort, but Sang Mo had already gone inside. He could only look at Bai Zhi with a pitiable expression. “Sang Mo’s bullying me.”
Bai Zhi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “He’s just teasing you.”
Yue Junxiao seized the opportunity and whispered enticingly, “He’s already had his turn today, and he’s bullying me. Wife, why don’t you come to my room tonight? I’ll let you pet my fur and play with my ears~”
He had just finished speaking when he felt a sudden chill run down his spine. Yue Junxiao whipped his head around and saw Sang Mo standing nearby.
Seeing him look over, Sang Mo sneered, “You’ve got some nerve.”
Yue Junxiao was stunned for a moment, then his eyes widened as he retorted defiantly, “You bully me, but I’m not even allowed to complain to our wife?! She hasn’t even said no yet. Are you afraid she’ll agree?!”
Sang Mo scoffed, then turned his expressionless face toward Bai Zhi. It looked like he was asking for her opinion, but it was also a threat.
Under Sang Mo’s death glare, Bai Zhi declared righteously, “Whoever’s turn it is, it’s their turn. We can’t mess up the rotation.”
After speaking, she turned her head, unable to look at Yue Junxiao’s crestfallen face.
After all, she had just promised to treat everyone equally. She couldn’t go back on her word so soon.
Sang Mo raised an eyebrow at Yue Junxiao. “Did you hear that?”
Yue Junxiao ground his teeth in anger. Seeing that Bai Zhi wouldn’t even look at him, he glared at Sang Mo. “That’s only because you threatened our wife! It’s just one night!”
Then he stomped off in a huff.
Bai Zhi heard their exchange and pretended to see and hear nothing. Siding with either of them would be wrong, so it was best to act as if she hadn’t heard a thing.
‘I’ll go and comfort Yue Junxiao in a little while…’
Bai Zhi now really wanted to know how ancient men with three wives and four concubines managed to keep the peace with so many partners at home.
