The dorm manager, holding a cake in one hand and a coat in the other, found Bai Lu’s room.

Bai Lu, who was just about to continue studying, heard a knock on the door. When she opened it, she saw the dorm manager standing at the entrance, holding the coat Bai Lu had asked her to give to Lu Li, and she was also carrying a cake.

It was Bai Lu’s favorite mango mousse. When she was with Lu Li before, he always liked to buy it for her, saying he wanted to feed her until she became chubby.

After breaking up with Lu Li, Bai Lu stopped eating mango mousse.

“Oh dear, look at my memory! Took the cake and forgot to return the coat to him! Now he’s already gone, so you’ll have to return it yourself!” The dorm manager said somewhat sheepishly, though it was unclear whether she was truly embarrassed or did it deliberately.

Thinking that she would have to return Lu Li’s coat on her own, Bai Lu was somewhat bewildered.

But there was no other way.

“Thank you, Auntie.” Bai Lu took Lu Li’s coat.

“You should take this cake as well. The young man has it tough; coming to the school so late at night. He’s not a student here, is he?”

“Please take the cake yourself.”

“I can’t eat it; I have diabetes.” The dorm manager quickly placed the cake box into Bai Lu’s hand. “I have other things to do, so I won’t keep chatting.”

So, Bai Lu carried the cake box in one hand and Lu Li’s coat in the other.

There was no other choice; Bai Lu closed the door using her foot.

Once inside, Bai Lu put the cake box on the table and hung up Lu Li’s coat.

Ever since Lou Xi got together with Qin Mobai, she had been living alone in the dorm, and it was still the case now.

So she couldn’t share the cake with anyone else.

Thinking of this made Bai Lu feel a headache, especially when she thought about how to return Lu Li’s coat, how to avoid further entanglement with him, how not to…

“Gurgle, gurgle…” Bai Lu felt hungry, probably from the aroma wafting from the cake box.

She placed the cake box on the table Lou Xi had used earlier, out of sight, out of mind.

Sitting in the chair, she tried to use studying as a way to distract herself.

But suddenly, Bai Lu remembered that when she came back, Lu Li had taken the two books she was holding. How would she manage her revision?

With finals next week, she had to get the books back by tomorrow or else how could she revise?

The thought of meeting Lu Li again made Bai Lu’s head feel twice as heavy.

Unconsciously, Bai Lu got up from the chair, walked to where the cake was placed, and opened the cake box. Taking a fork, she started eating the mango mousse.

It was the same taste, equally delicious, and as she ate, she couldn’t stop.

Bai Lu knew that eating sweets at night would make her gain weight, and loving a dangerous man would cause harm, yet she couldn’t control her mouth nor her heart.

While eating, Bai Lu took out her phone, intending to ask Lou Xi if Xi Siwei, that troublemaker, really had broken out of jail.

Just as she picked up her phone, she saw the message Lu Li sent on WeChat.

As for why she hadn’t blocked Lu Li on WeChat, it was because she had blocked him several times, and yet Lu Li tirelessly tried to add her again.

There wasn’t any irreconcilable hostility between them, so Bai Lu ended up accepting his friend request again.

Lu Li: Your books are still with me. Will you come to pick them up, or should I bring them to you tomorrow?
