Chapter 94: The Fall of the Strongest Sect

"I did," Jiang Yun provoked. "What will you do about it?"

"I’ll make your life worse than death!" the black-haired man yelled. "I, the Supreme Immortal Emperor Chu Tai, will use you as an example of what happens when someone dares defy me."

With a raise of his hand, Chu Tai formed hundreds of small blades condensed from massive amounts of Immortal energy. With a wave, they all shot toward Jiang Yun.

The energy blades were aimed at nonvital areas of Jiang Yun’s body, targeting the spots that caused the most pain. Chu Tai wore a smirk, thoroughly satisfied with his work, but it quickly disappeared.

What was meant to be an agonizing experience of being punctured by hundreds of blades resulted in all the blades disappearing. The moment they drew near, they simply vanished into nothingness.

"So, you do have some ability," Chu Tai grumbled. "I wanted you to have a taste of pain before you die, but I’ve changed my mind. I’ll kill you right now, or else I won’t be satisfied."

Chu Tai gestured with a wave of his hand, and the two Immortal Emperors behind him stepped forward.

"These two are both late-stage Immortal Emperors," Chu Tai explained. "You should feel honored to be killed by them. Not just anyone can have such a glorious death. Despite angering me, I do respect your audacity to dare do such a thing."

"Why would I be honored by facing these two pieces of trash?" Jiang Yun mocked. "These two Immortal Emperors will never reach the peak of Immortal Emperor in their lifetimes. They have already exhausted their talent. Not to mention, they reek of pills."

"How dare you?" one of the Immortal Emperors yelled, turning red with fury. "My brother and I are both dignified Immortal Emperors, not some trash. Are you impatient and eager to die right now?"

"If you have a death wish, then just say so," the other Immortal Emperor fumed. "I will graciously grant your wish and end your life."

"Come then," Jiang Yun taunted, gesturing with his index finger. "If you are so eager, I’m ready at any time."

Not wasting a moment, both Immortal Emperors rushed forward to silence Jiang Yun for all his mockery. They erupted with Immortal energy, bringing intense pressure wherever they went.

Fully expecting Jiang Yun to be locked in place, both Immortal Emperors threw a punch filled with Immortal energy to instantly kill him.

Despite both attacking simultaneously, Jiang Yun took a slight step back, and both Immortal Emperors missed their punches entirely.

"Are you making fools of yourselves?" Jiang Yun mocked with a slight laugh. "You can’t even hit your target despite me standing right here."

"Shut up!" both Immortal Emperors yelled while trying again.

The two of them became far more serious now that the embarrassment was simply too much to bear. If they couldn’t kill Jiang Yun soon, their titles as Immortal Emperors would be completely tarnished.

Even with their increased efforts, every attack constantly missed. With each miss, both Immortal Emperors became even more frustrated and drew upon more power to end things.

Within just a few attacks, both Immortal Emperors started over expending their Immortal energy merely to land a single hit. Every attack now contained their peak power and speed, which they directed with full concentration.

Still, no attacks landed. Jiang Yun didn’t even break a sweat, casually dodging everything with the slightest movements.

Dozens of attacks later, both Immortal Emperors stopped in utter exhaustion. All their Immortal energy had been spent, and their fatigue finally caught up to them.

While breathing heavily to regain some energy, the two Immortal Emperors heard an angry shout behind them.

"What are both of you doing?" Chu Tai angrily shouted while pointing his finger at the two of them. "Why are you two messing around instead of ending this man? You are making the sect look like a joke!"

"But, Sect Master..." one of the Immortal Emperors tried to explain.

"But what?" Chu Tai interrupted. "Are you going to say you can’t handle this weak man standing in front of you? He doesn’t even have any domineering Immortal energy to speak of. He’s practically an ordinary person."

"We’re already trying our hardest," the other Immortal Emperor expressed in frustration. "We really can’t land a blow no matter how hard we try."

"The both of you truly are trash, just like this man said. Maybe raising both of you to this point with pills was truly a waste of resources. If I had only given those pills to others, maybe I could have produced several more Immortal Emperors rather than trash like the two of you."

The two Immortal Emperors grew quiet, unable to retort in any way. They had relied heavily on pills to reach their level, making them some of the weakest late-stage Immortal Emperors in the Immortal world.

Both of them thought about how prideful they had been, despite the use of pills, when the Lasting Eternity Sect became the strongest sect in the Immortal world.

That status had been achieved simply from the sect possessing one more Immortal Emperor than the other three major sects.

Now, however, that pride turned into doubt. Both of them were unsure if they were truly part of the strongest sect in the Immortal world.

If they couldn’t even handle the single man standing before them, how could they ever be considered strong?

Wanting to prove this doubt wrong, the two Immortal Emperors pushed through their exhaustion and resumed their barrage of attacks.

Even after using every bit of energy they had left, they still couldn’t land a single hit. Jiang Yun continued to dodge without much effort.

With the situation remaining unchanged, the two Immortal Emperors grew desperate and began to take drastic measures.

Momentarily halting their assault, the two began to burn their lifespan for increased power. The Immortal energy they released started becoming denser and purer.

With a unified shout, both Immortal Emperors began displaying the power of a peak Immortal Emperor.

"Not bad," Jiang Yun commented. "You both no longer reek of pills, but the amount of lifespan you two are burning is immense. At the rate you’re burning away your lives, you might just die before you even land a blow."

"Shut up!" both Immortal Emperors yelled, brimming with confidence at their newfound power. "You won’t be able to escape us this time!"

Coordinating a synchronized attack to prevent Jiang Yun from moving out of the way, they rushed forward with all their strength.

Jiang Yun felt bored with dodging and simply stood firm to take the attack head-on. This momentarily confused the two Immortal Emperors, who wondered what trick Jiang Yun was planning.

Already mid-strike, the two Immortal Emperors could no longer stop and pressed forward despite their concerns.

What surprised them was that the attack landed cleanly on Jiang Yun’s chest without any deviation. Their full power connected completely without anything going wrong.

Seeing this, the two Immortal Emperors smiled in sheer joy now that they had finally landed their first strike. This single accomplishment felt far more fulfilling to the two of them than when they originally became Immortal Emperors.

The happiness soon faded, replaced first by a frown and then by their mouths falling open in shock.

Jiang Yun had not moved in the slightest despite their best efforts. Their fists rested softly against his chest, looking as if no powerful impact had ever occurred.

The two Immortal Emperors could not fathom what had gone wrong. Their attacks had definitely landed, and they had even burned their own lifespans, so how could the man in front of them take absolutely no damage?

Jiang Yun looked down upon the two with a cold expression. He was now thoroughly exhausted by this charade and wanted to end things immediately.

Jiang Yun had intended to break the spirits of the two Immortal Emperors since they came from a powerful sect that loved acting arrogantly, but the farce had dragged on for far too long.

Jiang Yun held an intense hatred for domineering, arrogant sects, and his patience had finally run out.

With a single cold glare, he sent a sharp chill running down their spines, filling their minds with the fear of impending doom.

Trying to pull back their arms before Jiang Yun could make a move, they were too slow.

Jiang Yun swung the palm of his hand, which passed through the faces of both Immortal Emperors. The moment the palm made contact, it simply passed through their heads like air.

The next thing Chu Tai saw while watching from the side was that both heads of the Immortal Emperors exploded. He couldn’t see exactly what had happened, but he now felt alarmed by what had just happened.

With a thud, both bodies of the dead Immortal Emperors fell hard on the ground. The once mighty Immortal Emperors were now no more.

Now that the two of them were dead, four out of five Immortal Emperors of the Lasting Eternity Sect were gone, and the sect was a shell of its former self.

Jiang Yun now turned his attention to the remaining Immortal Emperor who was left.

"Do you want to kill yourself, or do you want me to do it?"
