Chapter 55: Zhao Na Reunites with Jiang Yun

Jiang Yun soon returned back to where Ning Nuo and Zhao Jia were.

Zhao Jia was very confused as to what had just happened, as it all occurred so fast. One moment Jiang Yun was confronting the bandits, and the next he was back after sending them away.

Jiang Yun decided to speak first, "Come with us to the main hall to settle down first. You seem tired and need some rest."

Zhao Jia decided to follow Jiang Yun, as it would be impolite not to. She then followed Jiang Yun to the main hall and sat down.

Jiang Yun then sat across from her, while Ning Nuo went to explore the surroundings, as this would now be her new home.

Jiang Yun began asking, "How has your sister been all these years? I haven’t seen her for over a century and I wonder if she is still doing fine after all this time."

Zhao Jia replied, "My sister hasn’t been doing great since you disappeared. Back then, some of the herbs she asked you to get were important for our father, as he is suffering from heavy injuries. The herbs you got were keeping our father’s injuries stable and allowed him to continue running the family business."

Zhao Jia then looked very sad as she continued, "Soon after you disappeared, the herbs ran out, and our father suffered a backlash from his injuries and has since become unconscious. My sister now manages the family mostly alone, as I can’t help much. She has been struggling a lot to keep the family business from crashing."

Jiang Yun suddenly had a mix of feelings, as back then he had a transactional relationship with Zhao Na, yet the transactions were so important for her. Jiang Yun never thought much of the herbs he traded, as he needed resources badly, but today he found out the herbs had a purpose.

Jiang Yun then asked, "Since she is the family head currently, why are you out here by yourself?"

Zhao Jia replied, "Our family business has taken a large hit since my sister took over. We now barely have anyone working for us anymore. Since nobody could deliver our goods to sell, I volunteered to go instead."

Jiang Yun was very impressed by the girl in front of him now. This girl, not wanting to be useless despite her limited ability, risked her life to help her sister.

Jiang Yun then asked, "Since the main problem is your father is injured, would things be solved if he was cured? Since I am now here, wouldn’t everything be solved?"

Zhao Jia answered, "Unfortunately, the herbs needed now are far rarer than before, as our father has been unconscious for a long time. Even if you got the herbs from back then, they are now no longer useful."

Jiang Yun replied, "Then what if I had better herbs now and might have something to cure your father?"

Zhao Jia excitedly asked, "Do you really have stronger herbs? If so, can you quickly come back with me to cure my father? Even if you don’t really have the exact one needed, I still want to bet on the small possibility."

Jiang Yun replied, "Then let's go there right now. Is your merchant association still at the same location from back then?"

Zhao Jia answered, "Yes, we have never moved, and we are at the same place."

Jiang Yun then got up and said, "Since the place is the same, then let's go right now."

Just as Jiang Yun was about to leave, Ning Nuo came back as she had finished exploring. She then saw that Jiang Yun was about to leave.

Ning Nuo asked, "Where are you going now?"

Jiang Yun replied, "I’m going to go help an old friend. You can stay here, and I’ll be back soon. If you want to go back, then you can enter the portal I told you about before, which is in the courtyard."

Ning Nuo, wanting to go too, realized she was still too weak to help. She decided she didn’t want to hold Jiang Yun back and go with him.

Ning Nuo answered, "Then go quickly and come back soon."

Jiang Yun nodded, grabbed Zhao Jia, and disappeared.

A moment later, they appeared at a slightly run-down but very big building. Jiang Yun recognized it as the Red Lion Merchant Association building he used to go to. Now, though, the place had gotten old, as it no longer looked as new as before.

Zhao Jia, on the side, realized she was back at her home. She wondered what had happened just now, as she was sure she was just at Jiang Yun’s sect a moment ago. The distance between the two places was simply too far.

Zhao Jia asked, "What did you just do? How are we already at my family’s business building?"

Jiang Yun replied, "Don’t worry about it. Just know we are here now."

Zhao Jia, reluctant to just leave the matter alone, decided to set it aside, as she had important matters to settle.

Zhao Jia then said, "Follow me to meet my sister and father."

Zhao Jia started to step forward and walk into the building, which Jiang Yun soon followed. Inside wasn’t very busy, as only a few people were around to shop.

Jiang Yun realized just how bad things had gotten, as back when he came here, it was filled with people.

As the two continued walking, they entered a private room a few floors up. Inside, the private room had a desk with a woman sitting there diligently working on something.

The woman Jiang Yun recognized as Zhao Na, as she looked only slightly older compared to when he left back then, probably due to stress. Zhao Na, having heard someone enter the room, started to look up, as she wasn’t expecting any visitors.

The next moment, she saw two familiar faces: one being her sister, and the other was a face she hadn’t seen in a long time.

Zhao Na asked, "Is that Jiang Yun?"

Jiang Yun replied, "That’s right, it’s me, as I have come back."

Zhao Na quickly got up from her chair and walked in front of Jiang Yun with a serious expression on her face.

Zhao Na then asked, "Where have you been all this time? I thought you died since you disappeared for over a hundred years. How could you just leave without telling me after all we've been through?"

Jiang Yun didn’t know what to say, as what she said was true, since they had known each other for quite a while back then. Zhao Na, seeing Jiang Yun unable to answer, calmed herself down, as being so worked up wasn’t helping.

Zhao Na decided to change her question, "Since you have come back now, what have you come here for?"

Jiang Yun replied, "I am here to save your father. I have heard his condition has worsened since I left and things have been getting worse for you."

Zhao Na was surprised Jiang Yun came all this way just to help her. She suddenly felt grateful, as she had only her sister to rely on until now, as almost everyone else had left due to the business declining.

Zhao Na asked, "Do you have a way to cure my father? This has been my biggest worry for a long time."

Jiang Yun replied, "I don’t know if I have the exact thing you need, but don’t worry, even if I don’t have it currently, getting it isn’t hard for me."

Zhao Na still wanted to give it a try, even though she didn’t believe Jiang Yun’s boasting.

Zhao Na said, "Follow me then to see my father. If it is truly possible, I will be eternally grateful and will be indebted to you for the rest of my life."

Jiang Yun replied, "No need, as we know each other very well. Just lead the way to your father, and I will use all my means to save him."

Zhao Na then led the way as Jiang Yun and Zhao Jia followed close behind.

Entering a different private room, Jiang Yun saw an unconscious-looking older man who had a sunken face and grey hair.

Zhao Na said, "This is my father, and as you can see, he is in very bad condition. I don’t know if it is possible to save him, but I’ll leave things to you."

Jiang Yun then searched the man’s body with his divine sense, wanting to know how to solve it. As he was now an alchemist at the Forming Dao Pill Master level, knowing what medicine to make after looking at the situation should be easy.

After thoroughly looking for the cause of the man’s condition, Jiang Yun soon found it.

Jiang Yun then poured out a giant pile of high-level herbs from his ring and picked what he needed.

Zhao Na, seeing all the herbs, asked, "Where did you get so many high-level herbs?"

Jiang Yun replied, "I picked them up."

Zhao Na didn’t like the explanation and asked a different question, "So what do you think? Can you cure my father?"

Jiang Yun replied, "Don’t worry, I have 100% certainty that I can cure your father."

Zhao Na, hearing this, was ecstatic, as this had been her worry for so long.

Jiang Yun said, "I will soon begin alchemy to make a pill to cure him, so be quiet to allow me to concentrate."

Jiang Yun then sat down, took out his cauldron, and started his alchemy.
