Chapter 227: Chapter 227: Just Want to Devour Julian Forrester

Aveline Quinn and her grandfather had stopped by for an unexpected matter. After consulting with Master Forrester, they chatted for a bit with the younger generation—Julian Forrester and Keith Sterling—before getting up to leave.

Master Forrester had wanted to ask them to stay for dinner, but Mr. Quinn had other business to attend to and couldn’t stay.

Master Forrester didn’t insist. They were all old acquaintances, after all. It was just one meal; they could have it anytime. He saw his guests off with a warm smile.

Turning back to the living room, his eyes lit up and his face broke into a wide, affectionate grin when he saw Sienna Everett. "Sienna, Grandpa hasn’t seen you in a while. How have you been lately? Are you doing well?"

Sienna Everett smiled dazzlingly, her eyes curving into crescents, bright and captivating. "Grandpa, I should be the one coming to see you more often. I’ve been doing great lately, I’ve even put on some weight!"

"Put on weight? How come I think our Sierra has gotten thinner?" Old folks always think their kids are too skinny. He quickly beckoned them over. "Come, come, the kitchen has dinner ready. Let’s sit down and eat!"

"Grandpa, have you forgotten you have your own biological grandson? You don’t care about me at all!" Keith Sterling chimed in, joking around as he accused the old man of favoritism. "I must have been found in a trash can, or maybe I came free with a phone top-up!"

"You little brat, you’re standing there like a great big post, it’d be hard to ignore you even if I wanted to!" The old man squinted, looking Keith Sterling up and down. "You kid, for someone so tall, how come you’ve only grown in height and not in sense?"

Keith Sterling immediately put on a teary face and turned to tattle to his cousin. "Bro, did you hear that? Grandpa said I have no sense! Who talks about their own grandson like that!"

Julian Forrester shot him a sidelong glance, his tone measured. "Grandpa’s right."

Keith Sterling: "..."

’Am I at the bottom of this family’s food chain?’

’This is impossible! I can’t live like this!’

But the next second, upon seeing the fragrant braised pork ribs on the dining table, Keith Sterling scurried over eagerly. "OOH! I knew Grandpa still loves me deep down! He had the kitchen make so many of my favorite dishes!"

The old man shook his head helplessly. "Those were made for Sienna. You’re just benefiting from her presence!"

Keith Sterling didn’t care. "This just shows that my sister-in-law and I have similar tastes. It’s called fate!"

Master Forrester sat at the head of the table.

Julian Forrester pulled out a chair for Sienna Everett, and the two sat on the same side of the dining table.

Keith Sterling, the single Pringle, sat by himself on the other side.

They hadn’t been eating for long when the old man looked at his grandson and granddaughter-in-law, a worried frown on his face. "Sienna, you and Julian have been married for almost a year. I remember your first wedding anniversary is in five days. When are you going to have a wedding ceremony? Look, if you don’t have a ceremony, people don’t even know you’re married."

Sienna Everett’s heart skipped a beat.

’Just five more days until their first anniversary.’

’To think that a year ago, she had naively gotten a marriage license with Julian Forrester and even signed a one-year divorce agreement. Time flies...’

Sienna Everett lightly nudged Julian Forrester’s leg under the table, signaling for him to answer his grandfather.

Julian Forrester lowered his lashes, his gaze sweeping over her leg pressed against his. He felt her warmth and softness through the thin fabric, an exquisite touch that carried a faint, sweet scent.

His heart stirred. He lifted his eyes to glance at her before calmly reaching under the table. His warm palm enveloped her knee, giving it a gentle squeeze.

Sienna Everett instantly straightened up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, her back tensing.

’His hand... where is he putting it...?’

Seeing her lively and adorable reaction, Julian Forrester raised an eyebrow with lazy amusement. Then, he looked at the old man at the head of the table and said, "Grandpa, we’ll get it done as soon as possible."

The old man nodded repeatedly. "The sooner, the better! Grandpa isn’t trying to rush you. What I want most is for you to take good care of Sienna, and for the two of you to have a good life together..."

Listening to the old man’s nagging, Keith Sterling chewed on a rib, secretly delighted.

’Let his bro and sister-in-law handle this whole ’getting-married’ pressure!’

’But wait, why does Sierra’s expression look a little off?’

’She’s just sitting there with her head down, holding her chopsticks but not eating. What’s she doing?’

At that moment, Sienna Everett had no appetite for food at all. She just wanted to devour Julian Forrester!

’Why couldn’t he just eat his dinner? What was his hand doing on her knee? And if he was going to put it there, why did he have to keep squeezing it? It feels like we’re having a secret affair, it’s making my heart race. What if someone sees?’

Meanwhile, Keith Sterling was happily gnawing on a rib when he suddenly heard the old man’s focus shift to him.

"Keith, you’re not a kid anymore. Stop messing around out there. If you’re going to date, do it seriously. None of that nonsense."

Keith Sterling didn’t like the sound of that. He put down his chopsticks and grumbled, "Grandpa, what’s that supposed to mean? When have I been messing around? I’ve been on my best behavior lately, living honestly and acting with integrity!"

"Then find a wife and bring her home for me to see!"

"..." Keith Sterling was silenced for a moment, then shamelessly replied, "Grandpa, don’t rush me! I’m still just a child! A flower of the motherland! Have you ever seen a flower get married?"

’He had no desire to get married right now. Being single was so comfortable and free. He could do whatever he wanted, with no one to answer to.’

Hearing his nonsensical rambling, the old man raised his hand, ready to smack him on the back of the head.

Keith Sterling immediately blocked the blow, his expression turning serious and his tone solemn. "Alright, Grandpa. Today, I’ll tell you the real reason I don’t date."

Hearing this, Sienna Everett instantly forgot about Julian Forrester’s hand on her knee and looked at Keith Sterling with immense curiosity.

’Could he have been hurt by love in the past?’

’Or was there an unforgettable love from his past, hidden deep in his heart?’

Even Julian Forrester’s gaze slowly, deliberately settled on Keith Sterling.

’He knew this younger cousin well, but he never realized Keith was hiding such a deep secret.’

Keith Sterling sat there, facing the three people and their six eyes, and began with great solemnity, "I’m about to tell you, so you have to promise you’ll keep it a secret."

Sienna Everett nodded eagerly. "Absolutely. We’ll keep it a secret. Go on."

Keith Sterling sighed, his expression forlorn. "The truth is... I’m a celestial being from the heavens. Falling in love is a violation of heavenly law, so I can’t do it."

Sienna Everett: "???"

Julian Forrester: "..."

Furious, the old man grabbed a nearby feather duster and looked ready to beat him with it.

Keith Sterling immediately jumped up to dodge, his stomach aching from holding back his laughter. "You asked me, and I answered! It’s not my fault you don’t believe me!"

Sienna Everett: "..."

’What a waste of emotion. And I actually felt sorry for him!’

After dinner, Sienna Everett went with the old man to the glass greenhouse in the garden to water the flowers for a while, a nice way to walk and aid digestion.

Afterward, she followed Julian Forrester upstairs to his old room on the second floor.

After she went in, before she could even take a look at the room’s furnishings, her phone suddenly rang.

Caller ID: That Bastard Simon.

Sienna Everett’s first instinct was to hang up, but then she suddenly remembered that she had forgotten Simon Sinclair’s birthday last time. She puffed her cheeks in conflict, took a deep breath, and said to Julian Forrester, "I’m going to take this call."

With that, she scurried off to the balcony.

Julian Forrester had, of course, seen the caller ID on her phone.

’A call from Simon Sinclair...’

’And Sienna had deliberately avoided him, running to the balcony to answer it...’

Julian Forrester’s eyes darkened, a cold glint of hostility filling them. He started walking toward the balcony.
