Chapter 2018 2018: One Year
The battle between the Gnomes and the Humans raged on with more and more people dying by the day.
The Gnomes had superior numbers, but the persistence of Humans proved to the Gnomes that if they wanted to conquer the Human World, they would have to pay a huge price, a price they were not willing to pay at the moment. Their reluctance to engage in an all-out war caused a certain type of stalemate with the Half God Plane experts not joining the war, leaving everything to those at the Peak of the Sovereign Plane and below.
As the war raged on, at first, Grey's group were the first batch of rising stars that slowly became famous from their various contributions in the war as they traveled from one spot to another to provide aid or wipe out Gnome camps. Later on, more young geniuses who were in the Late stages of the Sovereign Plane started to appear in the battle against the Gnomes. There were even a few who were already at the Peak of the Sovereign Plane even though they were around the same age as Grey and the others.
Over the past few months, Grey and his group have been sent to the Aurora Continent on a few occasions. Due to Grey's mastery in the space element as well as teleportation arrays, he was needed to create multiple teleportation arrays that would make going from one place to another easier for the various Factions. Yes, there were already existing teleportation arrays, but during the process of making these ones, Grey found out that these teleportation arrays were all made from ancient times. He spoke with a Half God Plane Space Elementalist and realized that even she could not create teleportation arrays, which he found surprising. He forgot to take into account that not everyone has the same obsession towards array formations like he did, and even the ones that did were not Space Elementalists, so it was basically impossible for them to be able to set space coordinates.
Grey got to interact with not only the top Factions, but also the top Families in the Aurora Continent, learning a lot about the Forces of the Aurora Continent in the process.
A year went by in this manner with Grey traveling and setting up teleportation arrays across the Aurora Continent. During this year, there had been multiple assassination attempts on his life. The most dangerous was when a few Peak Sovereigns who were top experts of a particular Force surrounded him. Luckily for him, the Half God Plane expert of this Force was nowhere to be seen at the time. This Force was an old Force. No one would have expected some of the experts were Necromancers and people who had defected to the Gnomes' side. Grey managed to survive the attack, but was left bedridden for three months.
When Grey successfully escaped that particular assassination, his father and mother personally stepped out to take action. During the past few months, Martha had already broken through to the Half God Plane and was consolidating her cultivation. Hearing that Grey was almost killed, she flew into rage and went on a killing spree with Lucas, wiping out all the Sovereign Plane Elementalists of the Force. The only reason she did not kill those below the Sovereign Plane was that they were not worth her time, and the other Forces pleaded on their behalf, promising to keep an eye on them. The Half God Plane expert was not spared as well.
Even after the incident died down, the shock of Martha not only breaking through to the Half God Plane, but showcasing such immense strength stunned them all. She, a newly ascended Half God Plane expert, fought on equal footing against an experienced Half God Plane expert. Although in the end it was Lucas who stepped in to capture the expert, and after investigating they found out he was also one of the Necromancers, subsequently leading to his death.
This incident put a pause on Grey's mission to create teleportation arrays for some time. He only continued after each Force was only allowed to have just one Peak Sovereign overseeing the place whenever he was in the area creating teleportation arrays. This undoubtedly puts these Forces in danger of being attacked by Gnomes, so to ensure the Forces do not face any dangers, some Half God Plane experts would come together to thoroughly sweep the area in search of any Gnomes hiding in the region.
The thorough search of each region before he created more teleportation arrays helped the Humans find more Gnomes who were hiding.
The year was eventful, the only disappointing news for Grey was that he still have not been able to comprehend the wood element. The wood elemental essence might already have a region in his Chaos Space, but from his experience, he knew that it would take a long time before he can comprehend the wood element. This is something he knew he could not rush.
On this day, while Grey was in the process on creating a teleportation array, he sensed a few youths approaching him.
"Hey you."
A voice called out.
Grey did not raise his head to stop what he was doing, just as one of the youths was about to move closer, Klaus, who was resting by the side got up and walked over.
"What do you want?" Klaus asked, clear displeasure in his voice. He was having a quiet time, trying to get some sleep and these people walked over, clearly intent on disturbing Grey.
"Who are you?" One of the youths asked in a condescending manner.
Klaus took a casual glance at this youth and ignored him, not bothering with him. Of the six people in the group, this young man was the weakest, being a Seventh stage Sovereign. Klaus had no reason to even answer someone like that.
"What do you want?" He asked again.
"Oh, it's the guy that joined the Moonlight Faction." One of the youths who had silver hair remarked, looking at Klaus with interest.
