Chapter 1960: Cause For Worry?

Chapter 1960: Cause For Worry?

It took them only a few seconds for them to get to the place of the explosion. Before them was a large gate, with walls as thick as five meters surrounding an area of just over a kilometer or so. This place was built like a City, its gate being over ten meters tall. At the front of the gate were two people dressed in the same attire as most of the people they found here. A Young Lady and a Young Man who were both at the Peak of the Venerable Plane. They both looked to be around their early twenties or so. Of course, the group knew otherwise after hearing from Chris how True Dawn was able to put most of their members in a somewhat dormant state.

When they arrived, they did not find the Sovereigns that ran this way from the battlefield. Grey and the others were about to follow Chris inside when the Young Lady blocked their path.

Chris looked at them apologetically before saying, “You will have to wait here. Entry into the Faction grounds is strictly for members of the Faction or when invited by an Elder or the Faction Leader.”

Due to fearing for Oliver’s safety, he forgot about the Faction’s rule, bringing the group along with him. Although they just helped them with defeating the Gnomes, they were still outsiders who were not invited in by the Faction Leader. Chris rushed in, not waiting for the group’s reply, knowing there was nothing he could do to get them inside.

Klaus was agitated, “We just…”

Grey placed his hand on Klaus’s shoulder, knowing the latter would most likely say something that might annoy the young Lady that blocked their paths.

“Teacher said we should wait. Don’t worry, he will bring the Principal here.”

Klaus was naturally unsettled with this, grunting in frustration, he glared at the Young Lady before retreating a few meters away. They were not the only ones standing here, even the Peak Sovereigns that came with them were also not allowed into the Faction grounds.

There were no sightings of the Half God Plane experts. Grey could sense they were still battling with the Half God Plane experts of the Gnomes. This was a good opportunity to kill some of the Gnomes’ powerhouses, so even though something serious happened here, they only sent the extra Half God Plane experts amongst themselves while the others continued the fight with the Gnomes’ powerhouses. Peak Sovereign Gnomes might have escaped, but compared to the Half God Plane Gnomes, they were of little value.

Grey immediately started recuperating. He had been using his essence over the past few hours consistently, and even though he was quite confident in his essence reserves, he could tell if he continued fighting for another thirty minutes or an hour, he would exhaust himself. It has been a long time since he experienced something like that, and he did not enjoy the feeling one bit.

Reynolds and Alice sat down cross-legged and began recuperating just like Grey. Klaus was too agitated to enter a meditative state. He had not seen his father in a couple of years. Now that he was close to him, he was not in the mood to cultivate, especially given the fact that there was a probability his father might be in trouble. His focus was on the gate leading to the Faction grounds. He could not help but wonder how they were not able to get to this part of the Trial Land when they entered. No one has ever spoke of a large area like this after multiple entries, so there was a huge chance no one has ever managed to get to this region. If anyone even gets close, it would be impossible for them to leave before the portal into the Trial Land closes.

One has to know that at the them they came here, they were still very weak and could not fly. It would have been impossible to travel hundreds of kilometers at the time in a short time. There was also the dangers lurking around. Now that he was a Sovereign, he did not take note of these dangers, but at the time they entered this place all those years ago, there were a couple of places they did not dare to venture into.

Take for instance, there was the time Grey was chased by a Dragon when they were about to leave the Trial Land. If they were not lucky, they might have lost their lives in that ordeal. As he thought about these things, his gaze did not drifty away from the gates. The duo at the Venerable Plane guarding the gate stood there with emotionless expressions, not even sparing them a glance.

Klaus had never had a good impression of these people in ancient Factions, he felt they all acted like they had eyes at the top of their heads; feeling like they were above everyone else.

It was the same when he went with the Moonlight Faction, and from his perspective, it was the same here. He believed he was more talented than most of these people here.

Time trickled by slowly and before he knew it, he had been staring at the gate for five minutes. These five minutes felt like five hours to him as he waited patiently for his Father to walk out with his Uncle from the gates. He could tell there was a lot of activities going on inside the Faction grounds, unfortunately there was nothing he could do. Just when he was starting to lose patience, he saw Chris walking out with a blank expression. Even before speaking, he could already guess something bad must have happened, and it involved his Father.

Grey and the others opened their eyes to see Chris walking out alone. Seeing his expression, their hearts sank.

Klaus rushed over to Chris’s side, “Where is my Father?”

Chris raised his head to look at Klaus, his eyes listless.
