Chapter 1959: Information From Thousands Of Years Ago

“What’s that?”

Grey and everyone else paused, looking in the direction of the explosion. No one expected something to blow up in that direction since there was no one fighting in that area. It was also pretty far, making it all the more confusing.

Grey and the others who came to help might not know what happened in that direction, but those from True Dawn were clearly aware of what happened.

“Return to the Faction grounds!” A powerful voice came from above.

Grey could not see who it was, nevertheless, from the panic in the voice, he could tell that something serious had happened in that direction.

Everyone stopped fighting, the Gnomes were not in the mood to stop those from True Dawn as they rushed in the direction of the explosion.

The Peak Sovereign Gnome chasing after Grey saw this happening and instantly bolted in the other direction. He did not want anything to do with this place any longer. The sooner he left this place, the safer he would feel. He was not the only one, the other Gnomes also felt the same way.

Grey wanted to stop these Gnomes, only to realize other than himself and his friends, the others from True Dawn did not have any intentions of stopping them, they focused on rushing to the place where the explosion took place.

Curious, Grey flew over to his Teacher. He was not the only one, Klaus, Reynolds, and Alice also flew over.

Upon seeing his Teacher’s ashen face, he knew something horrible must have happened.

“Teacher, what is there?” He asked in a soft voice.

“Do you know of the portal that was sealed thousands of years ago during the great war?” Chris asked with a serious expression.

“The portal that can easily send hundreds of Half God Plane Gnomes over to our world?” Grey raised a brow. Seeing his Teacher nod, his expression changed. Now he understood how dire the situation was. If this seal was for something else, then it would not be this serious. This particular portal could not be destroyed due to his sheer size, if they tried to destroy it, the chances the entire Azure Continent would be destroyed along with it is well over ninety percent.

When he visited the ancient Faction to cultivate, he learned about this part of history, finding out a peerless expert sacrificed himself to seal the portal at the time.

“Teacher, what does the portal have to do with True Dawn?” He inquired.

“The expert who sealed it is from True Dawn. He wanted to destroy it, only to realize that it would probably destroy more than half of the Continent. At the time, this Continent was part of Aurora Continent…”

Chris told them what he had learned over the years. Since the expert was originally from True Dawn Faction, it was normal for him to be informed about this. It was when the expert realized there was practically no way to destroy it, he asked for help from other top experts to cut off a large part of the Aurora Continent where the portal was located after managing to repel the Gnomes for a short period. In that period, he sealed the portal before the Gnomes could recuperate. No one knew what method he used, all they knew was that he died in the process. Everyone thought the portal would remain sealed forever and that the Gnomes would have no way to come into the Human World again. A few hundred years later, Necromancers started to appear.

This was the time Humans found out some Humans had defected and sided with the Gnomes to learn their techniques of having Puppets. According to what they know, there was a way to increase their strengths with their Puppets. Those who felt they could no longer advance saw it as a God given chance and did not have any reservations with betraying their Race as long as they got what they wanted.

It did not take long before they discovered the Gnomes had found a way to reopen portals leading to the Human World. At first each portal discovered was immediately sealed or destroyed if not too strong. Unfortunately, there was no way for them to keep track of all the portals that were opened, giving the Gnomes enough time to sneak into the Human World and start their plot to reopen the seal. The battle has been going on in the shadows for thousands of years, only being open some years back when the Gnomes started getting more confident.

It’s unknown if the Necromancers were a big part of the reason they grew more confident, nonetheless, the number of Necromancers has increased over the past thousand years, and they had even infiltrated most of the top Forces. With the exception of these ancient Factions who had strict control over who enters their grounds, the other Forces were not safe from being infiltrated by these Necromancers posing as Faction or Family members. This is also one of the reasons why Darkness Elementalists were relatively looked at with suspicion.

Grey and his friends listened as they flew in the direction of the Faction grounds. On the way, any Gnome Grey saw, as long as it was within his means, he always kills them. It was better to have one less Gnome. The Gnomes were not the only things he noticed on the way, there were also the places he found oddly familiar. Some of these places were places he visited when they entered the Trial Land all those years ago, and he never expected he would ever see them again.

“Wait, isn’t father over there?” Klaus suddenly voiced out.

Chris’s expression changed when he heard this question. Klaus’s father, Oliver, had lost his cultivation and could not get involved in the battle. He stayed behind in the Faction grounds with those in the Venerable Plane and below.

“Hurry!” Chris increased his speed and flew off.

Grey and the others chased after him with haste, all with a worried expression.
