Chapter 1928: False Alarm?

Chapter 1928: False Alarm?

While the events of the portal’s destruction were taking place, Chris and Klaus were doing some catching up.

“Little brat, you really got married?” Chris asked with an incredulous expression, finding it hard to believe Klaus actually got married. He knew all about Klaus’ frivolities when he was younger, and to be honest, even though he knew Klaus would eventually get married, he did not expect it to be so soon.

Klaus gave a sheepish smile as he scratched the back of his head saying indignantly, “Uncle Chris, don’t say it like it’s a bad thing.”

“I’m just surprised.” Chris replied earnestly as he gave Klaus a complete survey, still amazed at how much he had grown. It has only been a few years yet Grey and Klaus had caught up to him, even though their cultivation stages were still lacking, he was a hundred percent certain he could not defeat Grey. As for Klaus, from his short performance, he knew Klaus was also very powerful, although not on Grey’s level, he was still not someone to be trifled with.

“How is Father doing?” Klaus’ voice softened when he asked about his Father’s condition.

“He’s alive and well, I know he will be excited once he hears the news of you getting married.” Chris noticed Klaus’ dull mood and said while patting him on the shoulder to show him a proud smile.

Chris had never really been involved in any love relationship with anyone and had long since taken Klaus as his own son, so seeing that he had grown this much, he could not hide the joy and pride in his eyes. There was also Grey, who was a freakish existence, and although his relationship with Grey can not compare to what he had with Klaus, he still felt happy at the sight of how much he had grown.

The duo had not even gotten the chance to talk for a more than three minute or so since Grey and Void rushed into the tunnel when they felt the ground reverberate, turning around, they saw a flash rushing out of a newly created hole, flying as fast as possible and moving as far as he could. Curious, the duo sent their Spiritual Sense to investigate what happened underground only to discover the destructive aura coming from the portal and the fast retreating auras of Grey, Void, and the Bunny Leader.

They did not need any reminder as the duo retreated as fast as they could from the entrance to the tunnel. Fortunately, they were not engaged in any battle else they would not have sensed the approaching danger.

Grey and Void were the first to rush out from the opening, with the Bunny Leader behind them, all three wore fearful expressions on their faces as they stopped to look in the direction of the tunnel.

“We better retreat a little further.” The Bunny Leader suggested when he noticed they were stopping.

Grey and Void nodded, both retreated further. Even from their current distance, they could still sense the danger from the underground tunnel.

“Will it continue to stay like that?” Grey could not help but ask after they had retreated about a kilometer away, still fearful of the aura that almost enveloped them during the last seconds they spent there.

“No, the space will repair itself after a while.” The Bunny Leader replied matter-of-factly.

Thinking about it, Grey felt it was possible; after all, he had seen countless attacks that had managed to cause spatial rifts or tears, yet within a very short time, the spatial tears repair themselves.

He was about to ask the Bunny Leader how he was able to contain the calamity that should have come with the destruction of the portal when he sensed multiple auras approaching him, two of them being his Teacher and Klaus. The other auras belonged to other Human Elementalists, which surprised him. If he was not wrong, they should still be engaged in a battle.

The Half God Plane Elementalists were still fighting, so he did not understand why the Peak Sovereigns had stopped fighting, it could not be that they defeated the Gnomes in the few minutes or so they spent dealing with the portal.

“What happened?” Seeing all the Peak Sovereigns staring at him questioningly, he was a little confused.

“What happened? A Gnome rushed out screaming how you wanted to kill everyone by destroying the portal as he escaped.” The Peak Sovereign who was a little skeptical about coming in the first place said, looking at Grey as if he wanted to peer through him, he asked, “I can sense the portal was destroyed, but how did you stop the supposed calamity?”

He was a little suspicious of Grey when Grey told them of the portal being here, so all of a sudden, Grey was able to destroy such a portal without causing any massive destruction when even a Peak Sovereign Gnome who was supposed to stop him fled, meaning even the Gnome could not deal with such a matter.

“It’s not my doing, you can say I had help from that Old Sir.” Grey knew the remaining Peak Sovereigns alive knew of his relationship with Bunny Leader who seems to have some relationship with the Old Man in the Half God Plane.

“How so?” The Man did not want to drop the matter until he heard how Grey was able to sort it out, even though the Peak Sovereign Gnome’s words of panic made the Gnomes engaged in battle with them flee the scene, giving them great relief.

Grey was getting annoyed from the Man’s ridiculous suspicion and after calming himself, he was about to explain when he noticed the Gnomes returning. The Gnomes must have probably sensed the supposed explosion did not occur, so they rushed back to the site of the battle. Currently, the place did not have any looks of a Town, there were no signs of buildings as everything had been destroyed from the battle.

When the Peak Sovereign Gnome who should be guarding the portal returned, his eyes nearly popped out of his head as he asked, “How?”
