Chapter 350: Sovereign’s Return

Violet grinned down at her friends, enjoying being so massive when compared to them. Compared to Susan and Olivia who were no larger than a single claw on one of her legs, the size differential was truly noticeable.

Then her smile faltered when a ice bolt slapped against the side of her head. She frowned then looked down to see Luna pointedly not looking in her direction.

"Hey! That was mean!" Violet pouted, to the amused chuckled of her friends.

"Then don’t make fun of us for being small next to a giant like you!" Luna huffed. Though Violet could feel the amusement clear in her voice so took it as the good natured joke that it was.

"Alright, alright, sorry, just coulnt resist it haha!" Chuckled Violet, she then turned towards their friends and asked them. "So how long were we out for?"

Susan spoke up, a warm smile adorning her face. "You spent about a day forming your domain, then around a week evolving."

The two companions hummed in acceptance of that fact.

"Now, I believe that Syan is wanting to celebrate both of your accenting into tier 5. Do you wanna head right on over or stay away for a bit longer?" Asked Rhyana as she craned her neck up to look at Violet’s massive form in slight awe.

The two companions shared a glance as they both thought about it however, a loud grumble from Violet’s stomach interupted their thoughts. The sound was loud enough that the very floor of the cave trembled slightly, sounding more like a minor earthquake than the growling of a hungry stomach.

Everyone was silent for a prolonged moment before Luna burst out into laughter, it took some time for her to calm herself down enough to speak up.

"How about we have some food first, then we can head to the city." No one had any objections to that plan, so in no time Violet was pulling out a variety of beast corpses from her storage.

From giant fishes that she collected in the ocean, to a selection of massive birds and bison. Vithrax then proceeded to simply breath fire over the pile, controlling the flames and heat expertly.

Susan and Olivia took one of the smaller birds, still a few meters big and cooked it separately from the 3 beasts meals.

Before long the two companions were digging in with gusto to the food, turning a small mountain of meat into a much smaller pile of bones in no time flat.

Violet collapsed down onto her belly with a satisfied groan, her body then proceeded to shrink rapidly. It went from its massive 100 meter length to a much more reasonable, yet still fairly large 10 meters in length.

Luna watched that and swiftly copied her actions and shrank her own body to match Violet’s. Then Luna walked over and lay against Violet’s side.

The group relaxed for some time, idly chatting and catching up as the two freshly evolved sovereigns discussed their domains in more detail.

"So you have a anti magic domain?" Rhyana asked to Violet some time later.

"No, it’s not just an anti magic zone, it’s an anti reality area. The void is the opposite side of the coin to reality, so when I bring the void in from my domain everything that makes up reality gets rejected. Be that mana, physical attacks or otherwise."

"So that’s why it feels like the world is rejecting me when you expanded your domain." Susan realised.

"Exactly, that is why when I cast a particularly powerful void soell, reality tends to crack. That is because the void and reality aren’t supposed to exist in the same place."

Sounds of understanding rang out from the assembled friends.

Eventually though it was time for them to set off. Violet resumed her full size, whilst Luna and Rhyana transformed back into their humanoid forms, Vithrax disappeared into Olivia’s soul.

Then the 4 of them jumped up onto Violet’s back, ice rapidly formed into a saddle of sorts that held everyone down tight as Violet leapt up into the air and accented into the sky with powerful wing beats that shook the nearby trees.

Atop the walls of Syan three figures stood tall, their powerful stature and positions causing the nearby guards to keep their distance from the three.

Each of them stared out in a single direction, the same direction that they had felt a terrifying surge of power not too long ago.

Even so far away the three sovereigns were able to feel that surge of power, each of them understanding what had occoured. A new sovereign had been born, or in this case two new ones had arrived at the same time.

These three figures were naturally the king of Syan, Mason Syan, Masin Syan the kings son and finally, the last remaining general of Syan, Karla Heartwood the bearkin sovereign.

They had been atop the wall for around an hour now, they had all rushed out upon sensing the energy surge. Several other high level Lords were also present atop the walls having felt the same energy wave.

The regular soldiers and guards, whilst having jot felt the power were non the less slightly worried upon noticing the sudden influx of powerful figures arriving at the wall.

They wondered if they were maybe about to be attacked again, yet when the three sovereigns simply stood in silence, as if waiting for something the guards soon relaxed.

That was until a shape appeared in the sky some distance away.

At first it just looked like a bird, yet its dark figure continued to grow larger and larger as it continued to fly directly towards the city.

Soon they realised exactly how massive the beast was, its wingspan stretching nearly 200 meters wide.

At first panic began to spread amongst the regular soldiers. Yet a quick command from their superiors got them back in line.

When the beast got closer however, that fear turned into awe as they finally realised what it was that they were seeing. For flying in the air was a dragon, a truly gargantuan dragon and a dragon that every man, woman and child in the city knew all too well.

For that dragon had saved their city not too long ago.

Soon cheers rang out across the wall as the soldiers realised that their saviour had managed to evolve into tier 5.

Then the dragon let loose a roar.

The world seemed to shake with the volume, the sporadic cheering was entirely drowned out as the roar announced the arrival of the Void Dragon.

She circled the city in a high and wide arc her gaze easily identifying the three sovereigns of the city atop the wall.

Then she banked her flight, aiming for the open ground before the gate closest to the king. She rocketed above the city, the wind in her wake causing some soldiers to stumble slightly from the force of the impromptu gale. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

Then her wings opened wide with a snap as she alighted on the ground with nary a sound.

Her massive size caused her to almost be able to see over the walls if she were to stand up on her hind legs. Even when just standing normally her head reached well over half way up the wall.

A flash of light announced the transformation of Luna as she soon stood besides her companion, she too released a roar filled with jubilation.

This time every snow leopardkin cheered the loudest, each of them knowing the famous arctic leopard that so many of their legends spoke about. Obviously they knew that Luna was not the same individual, yet the arctic leopard as a race held a near mythical reputation for the people of Syan, almost to the same level as dragons.

So the two companions received a boisterous celebration at their successful evolution.

Shortly after the cheering began to die down the massive gates of the city began to trundle open.

Violet glanced at the gates and let out a small sigh, mentally speaking to Luna. "I’m gonna have to shrink if I want to fit through the gate aren’t I?"

Luna’s chuckling voice came through to her. "That you are my dear, that you are."

So with a slight grumble Violet began to shrink down to a slightly more respectable 40 meters long, still keeping herself just a touch bigger than Luna.

Their friends had landed behind them, having separated during the fight so as to not take the attention away from the two women of the hour.

When the gates fully opened the two beasts proceeded to walk through, entering the city to witness the city streets full of people, all of them staring directly at the two massive beasts entering into the city.

In front of them both the three Sovereigns floated in the air, the king who was in the middle floated forwards with a broad grin splitting his face. He opened his arms wide and spoke with a loud voice so all could hear it.

"Syan welcomes you both back after your successful advancement into Tier 5! Come let today be a celebration for the two hero’s of the City!"

At their kings words the ever growing crowd of civilian’s and soldiers erupted into cheers.
