Chapter 349: New Body who this?

In the center of a large cave two massive etherial shells rested, one a stark white with shimmering etherial threads of Arctic blue streaking through it like cracks in ice.

The other, much larger shell was a void of utter nothingness, yet within that abcense of reality, a gentle purple radiance paradoxically illuminated the nothingness.

It had been a full week since both Violet and Luna had been fully encased within the shell of their evolution. A week since they had completed their domains and merged both body and soul.

And it was at the week mark when 2 sounds rang out. The twin echos of gargantuan shells cracking.

The 4 people guarding the cave rushed into the expansive space almost instantly, Susan, Rhyana, Olivia and Vithrax all gathered around the mouth of the cave as they watched spiderweb cracks appearing all across both shells simultaneously.

Whilst they both began to break apart at the same time one shell had significantly less to actually dislodge.

In a shower of white etherial threads and shards Luna’s shell dissolved into the ambient mana of the world.

As her shell dissipated a pressure settled down atop the observers, it was the pressure of a domain, uncontrolled in this unconscious expulsion of force. The entire cave became enveloped in a layer of bitter ice, fortifications within the freshly frozen landscape half forming as if illusions within the cold.

The pressure of Luna’s freshly formed domain did not last for too long before it was naturally absorbed right back into Luna’s body. Still the area directly around Luna was still almost entirely encased in ice, however, that ice strangely shifted as the large leopard moved from foot to foot instead of cracking apart.

Finally free from the shell that had encased her Luna tensed her muscles, feeling the vast improvement in strength and capability. She could feel her domain, a connection as powerful as her bond with Violet, yet intrinsically bound to her very being on a more fundamental level.

After all it was her domain that had acted as the glue to merge both her body and soul. As such her domain was now the third pillar of her existence.

Luna looked about as she fully regained her senses, taking in the strangely small looking dragons and humanoids standing at the mouth of the cave and who were in turn staring right back at her.

She felt a smile curl her lips as she examined her body and took in what changes had occoured to her.

Luna now stood around 30 meters from nose to tail and around 9 meters tall at the shoulders. Her fur remained primarily white whilst iridescent blue streaks and spots shifted in and out of view seemingly at random.

Next she opened up her status menu and took in the changes that had taken place there, her smile turned predatory as she read through the system screen.

She was initially surprised that her race had not changed, yet figured that simply wasn’t done during advancement into tier 5, she was similarly surprised at her class but again chalked it up to tier 5 strangeness.

But what she instead focused on initially was the new line added just below her class, that of her domain, her own Arctic Embrace.

It felt right to her on a fundimental level that she struggled to put into words, but it was just right.

She then turned her attention to her attributes and smiled at the jump, a flat plus 50 to each and every stat was a welcome addition on top of gaining the power of a domain.

Then she also noted that two of her skills were missing, those two being Arctic manifestation and blessing of the Arctic. Not that she was surprised given how she had sacrificed those two skills to build the foundations of her domain.

Luna’s attention was drawn away when the sound of a shattering shell rang out to her side. She turned in excitement to watch as the last of the gossamer threads of nothingness containing her companion fell away.

It was then that she finally got to witness the new form of her companion, it was awe inspiring in its magnitude.

Violet stood close to 100 meters long from tail to tip and 20 meters tall. Each of her claws were almost the size of a fully grown person and her head was the size of a small house.

Her scales had remained black with a purple undertone, its splash of colour shifting depending on the angle you observed it from. Her underside, now easily visable due to her immense size was more purple than black.

The horns atop her head curved around her skull before jutting forwards, their onyx base transitioning into a vibrant violet that shone with contained magic.

Then as Luna took in the sight she felt the burst of Violet’s domain as she unconsciously expanded it.

Luna shivered slightly when the domain washed over her, its effects were limited given her own domain still covered her, yet even then its effects were impressive.

When it washed over her she was plunged in darkness, no not darkness, that was wrong, it was the absence of light. Not only light but seemingly everything was banished from her domain.

Luna found herself standing atop a lone isle of ice that was her domain as the rest of the world vanished into nothingness. Yet before she could truly process the sensations that nothingness retreated until it was entirely absent and the cave was once more back to its natural state.

Yet when Luna glanced at Violet, she noticed that her shadow seemed like a portal of that same nothingness, then she blinked and the shadow was once more a simply shadow.

For her part when Violet emerged from her evolutionary shell she was elated, she felt her domain spreading out yet instinctively retracted it. She very well understood the impact her domain could have on other people and had no intention of subjecting her friends to that just yet.

Then she took in her surroundings and was quite surprised to have to look down so far just to look at her companion and friends. Then she craned her neck around and got a good look at her impressive size, a wide fang filled smile split her lips as she took in her upgraded body.

Then unable to hold back any longer she opened her status screen and observed what had changed.

Violet smile grew as she read each line, she didn’t mind that her race hadn’t changed, afterall what could possibly be an improvement from her current Primordial Void Dragon race?

She did note that her class seemed to have dropped that suffix before Void Wielder, something she felt quite appropriate.

It was the new line under that which she truly appreciated.

Domain - Ephemeral Void

The Ephemeral Void, a simple name that was at once counter to the voids nature yet also so fitting.

For the void of her domain was eternal yet fleeting. For it was not bound by time, as such it was as everlasting as she desired and in that case it was quite ephemeral.

Then came the vast increase in attributes that caused her to flex her muscles in satisfaction.

She then turned her head and glanced down at her friends and loved ones. "Why are you all so small?" She joked with a toothy grin.
