Chapter 1168: In Front Of The Barrier.
Chapter 1168: In Front Of The Barrier.
Shi Lang had no idea what was going on behind him, but he didn’t have the time to care about that at the moment he had gone to the Dao Plain and located the place which had been blocked by Kal-E. When he approached the opening of the Dao Portal, he found many Saint Races were gathered in the place.
He turned around to find a friend of his, Nishan was also present in the gathering, he saw Shi Lang beckoning at him and walked over with a smile. Shi Lang put his hand around Nishan’s shoulder and asked, “What is going on? Any progress? Also, what race does this place belong to?”
The Sun Archer said, “Well, there has been no progress, however, this plain belongs to a race that fell from the saint rankings because of the tournament. They lost to us, the Lunar Sword Slaves.”
Shi Lang frowned and he said, “This is such a mess. Can I go ahead and inspect the barrier?”
Nishan shrugged and said, “Yes, please, go ahead, they can use all help they can get.. Her Highness Naomi is there.”
Shi Lang nodded and then he spotted Amare sneaking glances at the two of them. He smiled and said, “Sister Amare, how have you been?”
Nishan sighed and Amare was startled, he said, “Ever since she was warned by Her Holiness she has been staying obedient. However, her curious nature is very difficult to tame.”
Shi Lang shook his head and replied, “Brother Nishan it is not something that is to be tamed. It is something that needs to be satiated. How will you do that? Only when she can get the answers will she settle down, also curiosity is not a curse, it is a blessing, otherwise, many of the races here would not have come this far in terms of cultivation.”
Nishan was left speechless and then bowed his head in defeat as he said, “How you handle your words is the biggest mystery to me, Lord Shura.”
Shi Lang chuckled and beckoned Amare to follow him. The young lady was like a rabbit who had been cornered, and only when Nishan gave her the go, she agreed and walked over to Shi Lang. The terran said, “Come along, let us see what this barrier is all about. You are curious about what is going on there, no?”
Amare nodded, she could not lie to save her life let alone when Shi Lang genuinely supported her nature. The two of them weaved a path through the crowd as they approached the place where several wise looking people were sitting on the ground and looking at the closed off portal before them.
The portal showed a scene of the world inside, but no spiritual energy was leaking from the other side, which was how they confirmed a block. Shi Lang didn’t sit down, but used his spiritual energy to communicate with Amare, and asked, “Have you mastered the seeker realm?”
Amare nodded and said, “Yes, Big Brother Shi.”
Shi Lang nodded and then asked, “What do you see when you look at the barrier?”
Amare didn’t rush to answer, she looked at the barrier for a few minutes, before she replied, “The Dao Threads are fine, but they have many knots in them. These knots are causing the blockage.”
Shi Lang nodded, the reason he had asked her this question was because the young lady had come in touch with the world consciousness, and so her understanding of the situation was far surpassing that of Shi Lang.
Shi Lang nodded and said, “Do you mind showing me?”
Amare was instantly confused and asked, “How can I show you?”
Shi Lang smiled and raised his hand asked, “Place your palm on it.”
Amare followed the instruction and then Shi Lang sent a wave of his spiritual energy through her body, it was a process that had to be handled delicately because the way spiritual energy moved through the bodies of the different race individuals was very different, not everyone could master this change, but Shi Lang had been creating vessels for all the races around, and he knew their structure better than themselves.
Shi Lang said, ’Don’t resist.’
Amare followed, and Shi Lang’s figure appeared inside Amare’s soul see, and he said, “Now, can you create the drawing of what you saw? Just magnify the knots?”
Amare realized why Shi Lang had done so, and she began to draw.
…
The other people in the surrounding spotted Shi Lang and Amare as they stood holding hands and instantly whispers began to flood the surroundings. Nishan saw this but he didn’t say anything, because he was clear that Shi Lang could never harbor romantic feelings for any other woman but Amelia, and at this moment, he was probably using Amare’s help to get the better understanding of this barrier.
This was why he didn’t bother clarifying anything for these people, the more he spoke the more murky the water would become. Thinking about this, he sighed, half the people here had no idea what kind of horror Shi Lang was and that was why they were speaking this much. He only prayed that the Shura does not get enraged and end up spilling blood here.
…
After a few minutes, Shi Lang let go of Amare’s hand and said, “Thank you, Little sis, you can go back now, I will handle things here.”
Amare bowed her head and went back to stand beside Nishan. Shi Lang walked over to sit down on the ground beside Naomi, and the lady asked, “Did you find a clue?”
Shi Lang smiled and shrugged as he said, “Who knows, I might have?”
Just then a snort echoed in the surroundings and it was followed by a remark, “Phony.”
Shi Lang turned to look at the source of the voice and asked, “If I am phony then why not your excellency tell us what this barrier is doing here and how to get past it?”
His question immediately caused the person to frown and clench his fists, he said, “If I had the answer than we would have gone past.”
Shi Lang nodded and replied, “Just like you said, you don’t have a solution. So if I were you, I would shut the fuck up and focus on the problem before me! Dimwit”
That was it, the people fell silent and before the other party could retaliate, a collective stare down caused the man to hold back. Shi Lang also turned his head to look at the barrier and then he began to superimpose the image that Amare had drawn earlier, and then he used the knowledge that Amelia had given him to try and comprehend the situation.
Gradually, he became so focused that if someone was to look closely, they would notice golden flakes dancing in his pupils, these golden flakes were nothing else but the runes of the nature language. Shi Lang was gaining understanding of the runes very quickly.
The philosophy behind the nature language was simple, connection and balance. With Amelia giving him the initial guide of the words, he began to decode them. The runes were made up of multiple curves and lines put together. Shi Lang had no idea how much time had passed, he was sitting with such rigidity that the people around him began to notice the anomaly.
They distanced themselves from him, because they didn’t want his concentration to break because of something they did, this was the basic manner in the cultivation world. Hours became days, and days became weeks, nobody was impatient, for cultivators of their level, weeks were akin to blinks they made while thinking about a technique.
The Terran woke up from his research and his breath changed. He then took out his guqin and began to play a song. The people were confused but after he finished quick song, someone around him said, “I just sensed a wisp of Spiritual energy from the other side.”
Many people nodded, and they all turned around to look at Shi Lang, who was sitting with on the ground playing one song after the other. After every song, the concentration of the spiritual energy from the other side was increasing, however, the Terran’s face was turning paler and paler.
He stopped only after seven songs when his face was covered in sweat. Naomi approached him, and she saw him taking a pill, and then she took a deep breath and said, “What happened just now?”
Shi Lang replied, “The dao threads, they fluctuate with the vibrations so I played the songs to counter those vibrations and that unlocked some of the threads.”
Naomi nodded, and just like that Shi Lang’s face regained some color, and one person said, “If you can cause some of the Dao Threads to loosen up, why can’t you just dispel the entire thing?”
Shi Lang put away his guqin and stood up before he turned to look at the person and then everyone saw his hair turn red and he vanished from his place to appear before the person who just spoke up and clenched his neck in his palm as he asked, “Did you say something?”
