Chapter 1164: Trials.

After solving the issue with the flower bed, Shi Lang headed back to Tartarus and checked on how Shi Ting was doing. She had long stopped engaging in close combat and her body was readjusting to the whole mess of combat and the speed was good as well. The young man took a deep breath, and suddenly he thought about it, and with a smile he turned around and walked away.

The disciples who were coming over to train watched him and while they bowed in greeting, but they were shocked and their legs were trembling. They could tell that the Hall Master was going to come up with something crazy. The fear they had was if they would be dragged into this whole stuff.

Shi Lang had a skip in his step, as if a child was going out to buy candy. The Terran came to his courtyard and sat down under the pavilion. He took a deep breath and said, “Yo, Feng Yun, are you there?”

Feng Yun appeared beside him and said, “Always, tell me what is going on?”

Shi Lang looked at her and then held her hand before leading her to sit down and asked, “Do you want to do something fun?”

The lady was surprised, she asked, “What do you have in mind?”

It has been a long time since she has seen the Terran coming up with something to create some chaos. Shi Lang talked to her for a few minutes, and then Feng Yun laughed, she said, “Good man, you are going to give some people a fresh set of nightmares.”

Shi Lang chuckled and he said, “It is better to stay up the night then falling asleep in the lap of death.”

Feng Yun nodded and said, “So, when will you begin?”

Shi Lang smiled and replied, “I will start in a few minutes. It will take me a week to handle this. Are you ready?”

Feng Yun nodded and said, “Yes, I am ready, I will handle this nicely.”

The young man came to a fairly empty place in the Asura Hall, and then he made a few hand seals. The next moment, ground began to tremble and then the soil climbed higher. It looked very odd, and a few disciples have gathered over, but they only saw a tower gradually taking shape. It was a seven floor high building. The people were surprised, they had no idea what was even going on. This area was used as a gathering or a sparring spot by the elders and at this minute, Shi Lang was changing it.

Many people gathered, after an hour a glorious looking tower stood in front of them all. Feng Yun appeared and landed beside Shi Lang before she asked, “Are you sure that you want to go ahead with this?”

Shi Lang nodded with a confident face and said, “If I don’t go ahead with this, how are we going to train? Also, keep the gift on top floor. I want them all to face it without knowing what is there.”

Feng Yun sighed and replied, “Fine.”

That was it, Feng Yun went inside the tower and after a few minutes when she came out the entire place had changed. Shi Lang smirked and said, “To all the elders of the Asura Hall, hear me well. This is the Trial Tower. Inside every floor there are nine steps, each step will take you to face off with one of the strongest experts of the Myriad Races. Once you go there, you will be fighting with them head on. However, if you face life threatening situation the tower array will bring you out. Make sure you understand the gravity, we are getting ready for the for war that is to come at us. So, don’t throw your life away because you are competing with friends.”

The elders nodded and Tian Long jumped out of the crowd, “Can we go in and try?”

Shi Lang nodde with a calm face, and said, “Go in, one at a time.”

Tian Long moved ahead and vanished inside the gates of the tower, then Shi Lang said, “Okay, all the youngsters should go and get busy, there is nothing to see here.”

The disciples dispersed but they were very curious to find out what is going on inside the building. The Terran looked at Prince Beiming and said, “Old Spear, what do you think? How many floors can he reach?”

Prince Beiming noticed a spark in Shi Lang’s eyes, and said, “I am guessing two, but could be higher, since you have placed the array, I am guessing that the matches would be pitted against the saints of the other races. Especially the races that survived the Tournament. So, tell me what is the catch? You kept a poker face to fool Old Tian but I noticed your eyes, Scavenger.”

Shi Lang chuckled and then it turned into evil laughter, and Shi Lang said, “You will find it only when you go inside, I am betting one Nirvana Enlightenment Pill, Tian Long will reach the peak of first floor before he comes out.”

He took out the pill bottle and tossed it to Tong Bai and said, “You are keeping the account, Xiao Bai. I am going to rest and watch the fun.”

Tong Bai caught the pill bottle but she shook her head and replied, “You sly man.”

Then she chuckled as Shi Lang walked away like a kid who won a race. After an hour, Tian Long came out with an unkempt appearance and he looked around for Shi Lang before he said, “Fucking hell, as if we haven’t suffered in Tartarus, this guy just made another torture room. We have to fight battles but with limitations on our bodies. I reached the last battle of the first floor but my true essence reached the limit and so I could not battle. The limitations keep getting harder as we proceed. Does he want us to fight the enemy while having a mortal body?”

The elders all had a solemn expression on their faces. They could not understand what was going on, because Shi Lang had really come up with something that would help them gain a lot of strength and control on their skills but at the same time, if the challenge was impossible to complete then why did he even make it?

Feng Yun was still standing in the area and after hearing what Tian Long said, she sighed and remarked, “You feel that way because your output style is brazen. You fight head on and think that ending the battle with one more is the best way, and this is why you end up showing all your cards. You have to understand that without control, you will be like an arrow that would run out of wind before you reach the target.”

Then she looked at all the elders and said, “The situation is not so simple, the limitations will focus at the your worst quality so if you wish to win the battles, you will need to overcome your biggest obstacle, yourself.”

Then she turned around gracefully and left. Beiming bowed to her and said, “Thank you for your guidance, your holiness.”

He was the one to ascend before Tian Long and Tong Bai was the second, so he knew how important this advice from Feng Yun was, the middle-aged man stood up and said, “Bai, I am going in.”

Then he took out his spear and walked inside the tower.

Shi Lang didn’t bother with the rest of the people, he had his sights set on another thing, that was the third race that has come to find him regarding the five elemental temple. The Terran was tired, but he knew that these visits were his only chance to gain more experience and get stronger. The reason he came up with the Trial Tower was because he had realized a lot of things in his own trials. This was the source of his inspiration and so, he had come a long way but still had a longer path ahead of him.

Feng Yun came over and asked, “What are you thinking about? Go on, the Rock Titans have called you.”

Shi Lang rolled his eyes and said, “This race has a structure that is made of rocks, even the organs they have are biased and they have blood textured like grime. Do you think it is going to be easy for me?”

Feng Yun shook her head and said, “You already know how to crack that, get going.”

Shi Lang sighed and stood up before patting some non existent dust on his body and said, “Can you tell my wife that I will be back soon?”

Feng Yun rolled her eyes and said, “You are just being lazy.”

Shi Lang shrugged and said, “What do you expect? I have to work so hard because of that asshole Kal-e. Ofcourse, I am a lazy man, I am a few centuries old already, you know.”

Then he walked away with his hands behind his back.
