Chapter 593: Chapter 592: Strange tattoos
Immediately afterward, Nekro appeared at the Royal Castle, where he looked down at the three men kneeling before him in reverence.
"Welcome, Master," the three princes said as Nekro’s face widened into a grin.
He stood at a comfortable five meters tall, but his horns were almost touching the ceiling. He quickly shrank himself to two meters before looking at the three princes.
"Good, good. Where is she?" Nekro couldn’t help but ask.
The First Prince immediately stood up.
"Here."
He said this with a smile as he opened a secret room.
Seeing this, Nekro nodded before entering.
"Get ready to welcome the leaders with the envoys in three days. For now, no one is to disturb me."
Nekro spoke sternly, and the three princes hurriedly nodded in response.
Nekro then entered the room and descended into the basement.
When he arrived, he was met by a brightly lit room where a human female stood naked, waiting for him.
Seeing her, Nekro grinned.
It was Princess Rasel.
However, he wasn’t interested in her nakedness.
His attention was fixed on the strange marks covering her body.
Ever since she had awakened them, he had noticed the unusual markings and sent several envoys to observe her from the shadows.
Unfortunately, he still didn’t know whether she had awakened some kind of bloodline or if the markings were connected to something from the distant past.
"Princess Rasel... is it?" Nekro asked.
The woman trembled slightly.
Yes, she was naked, but she simply clenched her fists.
There was nothing for her to be embarrassed about.
She could clearly see that Nekro’s eyes were focused on her tattoos rather than her body.
Besides, she remained relatively calm because of who she was.
"Who are you?" Princess Rasel asked as she stared at the monstrosity standing before her.
She felt something stirring inside her body.
An intense hatred.
She didn’t understand why, but the moment she looked at Nekro, she felt an instinctive hatred toward him.
"Me?"
Nekro smiled.
"I am Nekro... a Rank 1 being and the new ruler of the Mortal Realm."
He said it as though it were nothing more than a simple fact.
Princess Rasel’s expression changed rapidly.
"Rank... Rank 1?"
She couldn’t help but repeat the words.
She knew how terrifying Rank 1 beings were.
And now, one was standing directly in front of her.
The aura surrounding Nekro was powerful enough to distort the surrounding space.
She had no doubt that he truly was a Rank 1 being.
"So what do you want from me?"
"Are you going to kill me for trying to stop your servants?"
Princess Rasel asked.
Nekro shook his head.
"Quite the opposite, actually. I want to—"
He paused as he walked closer.
Princess Rasel instinctively took a step backward.
Unfortunately, the room wasn’t large enough.
Her back soon touched the wall.
With nowhere else to go, she could only face Nekro.
"Tell me..."
"Why do you have these marks?"
"And what exactly are you?"
Nekro asked in a deep, hoarse voice.
Hearing this, Princess Rasel felt goosebumps spread across her body.
Her breathing became heavier.
But even after several moments, she couldn’t answer.
Seeing this, Nekro sneered.
He suddenly punched forward.
BANG!
His fist dug slightly into the wall as Princess Rasel rolled away, quickly putting distance between herself and Nekro.
But Nekro pursued her.
This time, he threw a kick.
The instant his leg approached, Princess Rasel dodged.
She wrapped her arms around his scaled leg and used his momentum to throw him off balance.
Nekro fell forward.
But before his head could touch the ground, he stopped himself.
His tail stabbed into the ground and held his body in place.
"You know..."
Nekro slowly stood up.
"At the very least, that attack was at the High-Level Rank 0 Realm."
"And you actually managed to dodge it."
His eyes narrowed.
"Your aura is only at the Middle-Level Rank 0 Realm."
"Yet your strength isn’t, is it?"
"Why?"
Nekro looked at Princess Rasel, who stared back at him warily.
"Maybe you’re a genius?"
"The chosen daughter of destiny?"
Nekro laughed.
"I think not."
"Which means these tattoos have something to do with it."
In the next instant, Nekro appeared inches away from Princess Rasel.
Her eyes widened.
Before she could react, Nekro had already grabbed her arm.
"What secrets lie beneath these markings?"
"What are they?"
Nekro asked.
The instant his fingers touched the tattoos, they suddenly began to glow.
Nekro’s expression changed.
He hurriedly released her arm as a sharp pain shot through his palm.
He looked down at his slightly bruised hand before turning his attention back to Princess Rasel, whose tattoos were still glowing.
He was becoming more and more certain that these tattoos meant something.
And if he wasn’t careful...
They could be a ticking time bomb capable of overthrowing him.
That was something Nekro couldn’t accept.
No one was allowed to stop or disrupt his plans to rule the Mortal Realm.
"I don’t know..."
Princess Rasel answered.
Even she was shocked by the tattoos’ reaction.
Yet strangely, her breathing had become extremely steady.
Her mind felt unusually calm as her eyes darted around the room, searching for a possible path of escape.
"Yeah..."
"I believe you."
Nekro answered with a smile.
"Ah!"
Suddenly, Princess Rasel let out a yelp as a sharp pain erupted in her arm.
She looked down and saw a deep wound.
Nekro had slashed her arm with his claws, splitting her skin apart as blood gushed from the wound.
But only for a moment.
The blood suddenly stopped.
Then it reversed.
The wound began closing on its own.
But that wasn’t all.
The blood Princess Rasel saw wasn’t ordinary human blood.
It was emerald-colored.
As for Nekro...
This was the basic confirmation he needed.
This little girl was far from simple.
A low murderous intent began brewing within him as he considered killing Princess Rasel.
"I..."
Princess Rasel tried to speak.
But suddenly, she felt her throat tighten as her airway was cut off.
Nekro had already approached her and grabbed her by the throat.
"Tell me where you got these tattoos from."
"Maybe then you’ll live."
Nekro’s voice was cold.
Before killing her, he wanted information.
What if she wasn’t the only one?
He couldn’t afford to underestimate her anymore.
She was only a Middle-Level Rank 0 being, yet she had managed to dodge an attack from a High-Level Rank 0 being.
What if she reached the Quasi-Rank 1 Realm?
Wouldn’t that mean she could potentially fight him who was a Rank 1 being?
That possibility alone was enough to make Nekro take her existence seriously.
