Chapter 228: Enlightenment 3

He only felt, faintly and dreamlike, that he had become one with his laws as usual, but he hadn't gained any enlightenment.

Afterward, he decided to learn another law and enter the World of the Veil again, and this time he used every law, including the Law of Derivation... and as he expected, he gained enlightenment as usual.

And in order to make sure and erase all the doubts he had, Vaelor decided to learn a new law so he could enter the World of the Veil once more, but this time without any cosmic law other than the Law of Derivation... and just as he expected once again, he gained enlightenment once more, confirming at that point that the reason he'd been gaining constant enlightenment when entering with all his laws was the Law of Derivation!

Important note: the laws Vaelor learns are basic laws, and basic laws don't require talent to comprehend, unlike cosmic laws.

But after spending some time in deep thought, he discovered that the enlightenment he'd believed he was gaining wasn't actually enlightenment at all, but derivation!

The moment Vaelor entered the World of the Veil, his consciousness merged completely with all his laws, without any restrictions, conflict, or dissonance whatsoever... he was one with those laws, forming a single entity.

But in that state, Vaelor was nothing but consciousness, soul, self, whatever that state was that he didn't fully understand... and the laws in that space, or that near-nothingness he didn't comprehend, were nothing but pure concepts, without any physical touch to them.

And among all the laws Vaelor possessed, there was only one law that transcended the physical aspect and drew benefit from the conceptual aspect... and that was the Law of Derivation.

In the World of the Veil, when the laws are fully invoked and there is no dissonance, conflict, or barriers between them, and they merge together into a single entity, then the vessel of the Law of Derivation fills with the concepts of all those laws, and the Law of Derivation begins to work.

But this time, what would be derived wouldn't be matter or energy, but the concepts of laws themselves... and not just any laws, but laws with their limits completely removed within this world, meaning they were complete, and the Law of Derivation draws from the source itself.

And on top of all this, the Law of Derivation operates here at its full power, as it never had in the outer world before... ultimately producing an enormous amount of information branching off from all those laws.

Here the laws merge together in the vessel of derivation without dissonance, so that similar traits come together in the end to form something new.

And the greatest gain Vaelor was able to walk away with from these experiences was the Tripartite Law of Genesis, which resulted from the derivation of more than ten laws, ultimately forming with its foundation being the three cosmic laws... Life, Formation, and Derivation.

This was why Vaelor had said at the time that the abilities of the Tree of Abyss and the Law of Derivation had surpassed the abilities of the Tree of Life and the Law of Life by a wide margin.

But after thinking for a while, Vaelor realized he was mistaken in this matter as well, and that was due to a single reason... the power of the Law of Derivation he possessed was primarily owed to the power of the golden scroll.

In the real world, when a user of the Law of Derivation tries to apply this law to the rest of the laws they understand, in order to try to derive new concepts, they would then face two severe obstacles.

The first is the dissonance between laws, for no matter how much talent one possesses, no one can escape the mutual dissonance of laws with one another.

The second is talent toward the laws. For in the end, the amount of information you can extract or derive from laws depends on how much talent you have toward those laws... and throughout the long course of history, there had never been a single person who was free of dissonance among all laws, or who possessed high talent for more than three laws!

To understand the difference more simply between the Law of Derivation in the real world and the Law of Derivation in the World of the Veil: the Law of Derivation in the real world is limited and weakened by the dissonance between the rest of the laws and by the user's lack of sufficient talent except in a small number of laws.

But in the World of the Veil, things are different, there is no dissonance or lack of talent... the affinity of the laws here is 100%, and the Law of Derivation uses these laws as fuel to bring out new knowledge.

Today, after Vaelor had spent nearly a month in seclusion, he had learned during this period six basic laws, namely...

The basic Law of Stillness belonging to the Silent Raven race.

The basic Law of Gravity belonging to the Dragon race.

The Law of Body belonging to the Golden Lion race.

The Law of Mutation belonging to the Centaur race.

In addition to the two laws of... Refinement and Bone.

The first four laws belonged to the races that had submitted to Vaelor, while the other two laws had been easy for Vaelor to learn, since the Law of Refinement branched off from the Cosmic Law of Formation, while the Law of Bone branched off from the Cosmic Law of Life...

Bringing the total number of laws Vaelor had comprehended during this period to twenty laws, all of them at the Second Tier, equal to the Second Level, namely...

The Tripartite Law of Genesis, which is Vaelor's foundational law and the one he can actually use. In addition to four cosmic laws, namely...

Derivation, Life, Formation, and Emotion.

And beneath them there are fifteen basic laws, namely...

Fire, Water, Light, Darkness, Wind, Lightning, Wood, Gravity, Arrays, Refinement, Body, Blood, Bone, Mutation, Stillness.

This number of laws understood by a single person was terrifying even for Immortals... everyone spends their entire lifetime comprehending their foundational law along with a few other laws... and only Immortals who have reached a level of power that demands intense comprehension of numerous laws do this.

But what's truly terrifying here is that Vaelor hadn't even completed his first year yet, and he had already comprehended all of this... and the credit for this, of course, goes to the World of the Veil.
