Abyss Tree Evolution: A Mission to Conquer the World
Chapter 218: The Deer
"Ooooh, isn’t this the great and venerated Falcon King, this white chicken!" King Aran looked at the Falcon King, a wide smile stretching from ear to ear on his face.
The Falcon King paid no attention to King Aran’s remark, remaining lost, drifting in his thoughts, thinking with regret of his kingdom and his queen, now lost, and his lifelong partner, killed before his very eyes.
He had fled the war that day and had been the only king to survive, but it seemed his survival had caused his kingdom’s destruction, reducing it to nothing but history.
He wished at this moment that he had perished in that war and never survived to see a day like this!
"Tsk! That’s what you deserve, you fool, for making an enemy of the elves!" King Aran mocked upon seeing how dire the Falcon King’s condition was, then turned his gaze toward the rest of the group and smiled "so where were we, guys"
....
"And what about you!" Imris ignored King Aran and turned back to his friends, specifically to Ranos.
"The Dragon race resisted and gathered their armies to fight me, but they were clearly inferior to us in strength, both in gear and power, so I killed all their leaders, and only a few Third Level fighters remain of them!" Ranos placed his hands behind his head, speaking indifferently.
"And you, big guy?" Imris turned his gaze and smiled a small, barely visible smile as he looked at Ethar.
"Hehehehe" Ethar moved, laughing, placing his arm on Imris’s shoulder and wrapping it around his neck, saying proudly "those fools thought they were my equal, so I killed everyone from the Third Level and above" then he leaned closer to Imris’s ear and whispered...
"But man, I swear that Golden King knew how to enjoy himself, he had a harem of women, I swear no other king on this continent has a collection like his!"
Imris’s eyes widened slightly upon hearing this, and he looked at Ethar with some pity "if Ayat finds out about this, your days won’t go well from here on!"
Ethar scowled the moment he heard this, but what provoked him even more was Ranos’s remark...
"Hehehehehehe. I told him this but he didn’t listen, and it seems we’ll be finding our friend in a pitiful state in the days to come!" Ranos laughed gloatingly as he looked at Ethar, imagining what his predicament would be like.
Ooooomph!
"Shut up, you idiots!" veins bulged on Ethar’s forehead and he struck Imris’s chest hard, causing his eyes to bulge out.
"So what if Ayat finds out about what I’m saying, do you think I’ll be afraid of her" Ethar struck his own chest hard and proudly, then looked at his friends angrily "and why are you all talking as if she’s my wife!"
"Alright, alright, big guy, you’re not afraid of her and she’s not your wife, I just wish you safety when you meet her" Ranos waved his hands, then looked at Imris "but what about you, how did things go for you"
Upon hearing this question, everyone looked at Imris in anticipation. While everyone else had attacked the other kingdoms because those kingdoms had attacked them first, Imris had attacked the kingdom that everyone hated more than any other, without exception.
Aside from the giants, the Falcon Kingdom was the most hated kingdom among the elves of the City of Light, because of the Falcon Kingdom’s repeated plotting to attack the City of Light, planting traitors among them, stirring up strife, and assassinating many of the city’s powerful figures.
If the giants were the direct cause of the City of Light’s fall, then the Falcons were the hidden cause, the ones who had been manipulating things from the shadows.
So everyone waited impatiently to hear his news.
Seeing that this question was directed at him, Imris’s expression returned to its cold state once more, and after a moment he sighed calmly and shook his head "there’s no longer anything called the Storm Kingdom or the Falcon Kingdom, I completely destroyed their capital and killed every warrior who had a lineage and could train, as for the commoners, I captured those who surrendered, and those who resisted joined the rest of the dead, and I left my soldiers there to handle the rest of the matters until a new order comes from His Majesty Vaelor"
Everyone listened attentively, and sighed when they finally heard something that satisfied their grudge, and after a moment Imris raised his head again toward them and asked "regarding King Vaelor, where is he now?"
"He’s with Ayat and a group of elves, discussing that thing called the ’bank’, and it seems to be something extremely important because he gave us an order to wait until they finish" Zaylon spoke indifferently as he lay on the grass, looking up at the emerald sky and its dazzling sunset.
After they remained waiting for another hour, the array around the royal garden was deactivated, and a voice came to them from inside...
"Come in!"
They recognized the owner of this voice the moment they heard it... it belonged to King Vaelor.
"Bring them along behind us!" Ethar waved his hand, gesturing for the guards to bring the representatives of those kingdoms... and after advancing for a while inside the massive royal garden, they finally arrived where King Vaelor was.
The moment they arrived, they saw Vaelor sitting on a throne made of tree branches, and before him a long wooden table around which dozens of elves of various ages sat, and above the table there were numerous glowing projections of many different buildings, and within moments all those glowing projections vanished as though they had never been, and the table returned to being just an ordinary wooden table once again.
After finishing their meeting, the elves immediately rose from the table and excused themselves from everyone to go carry out their assigned tasks, while only Vaelor and Ayat remained seated at the table.
"Come on, sit!" Vaelor gestured to his generals to sit "I didn’t expect you’d return this quickly!"
Vaelor looked at them, his eyes gleaming. He had expected them to be delayed a little, perhaps a few days, but it seemed he had miscalculated. But this wasn’t his fault.
Vaelor’s information about the rest of the kingdoms was practically nonexistent, and the distances between each kingdom were immense, and unless you had spies planted over decades in the kingdom you wanted information about, you couldn’t expect that information to simply fall from the sky.
This matter was made even worse in the case of the City of Light, which had previously isolated itself from everyone, and the information they knew from time to time might have been decades or even centuries old!
Vaelor, in this situation, was like a lion in a vast forest wanting to hunt a group of deer, but he was ignorant, not knowing whether those deer might grow claws or fangs or not, so he decided to send his full strength to make sure the hunt for the deer would succeed!
