Absolute Beast Dominion

Chapter 687: Wasn't He Supposed To Be The Main Wind-Element Player On The Team?

The Roc immediately balanced itself and tried to eat Leo since he was flying just beside it.

When it opened its metallic beak wide, Leo was surprised to see that it was lined with razor-sharp, jagged edges, as if the beast had crudely sharpened them by itself.

[Luminous Prowl Steps]!

Leo tried using the skill in the hope that it would work. Since it was a move that depended on steps and Leo wasn't actually using his legs right now, the chances were lower.

But surprisingly, it worked.

Leo immediately disappeared from the path of its flight and appeared behind the Roc as it bit into empty air.

Leo tried using [Stealth], and even that worked, as the Roc now had no idea where Leo was.

It looked around frantically and, unable to find him, used a feather attack that launched feathers all around its body in every direction, aiming at anyone and everyone.

Even Leo was forced to use [Luminous Prowl Steps] multiple times while in stealth to dodge the metallic feathers that were coming out in waves.

"Kaelion! Uraan! Make sure to collect all these metallic feathers. They look strong and could be used in the defence of our stronghold!"

"On it!!" Both of them responded and veered off to mark the locations where the feathers were falling while also dodging the feathers coming toward them.

"Lily, keep the others safe. I will milk this beast dry of its feathers!" he instructed Lily, and she immediately created a dense layer of wind barriers.

But surprisingly, the Roc's metallic feathers seemed to be enchanted with Wind, as they started to pierce straight through her defence.

Lily immediately dropped the wind barriers and raised earthen walls, which crashed down one by one. Then she suddenly found a good defensive skill in Leo's arsenal.

[Mountain Aura Dome]

Howl's new skill.

She first let the earthen walls stop all the feathers before experimenting. When the first wave of feathers subsided, she immediately used Howl's skill and layered it around 10 times because she didn't know how strong the skill was.

"It... actually uses 90% stamina and 10% mana to form it," Lily muttered after realising that the skill was consuming her stamina at a rapid pace.

Since it was an Aura skill, it used stamina.

The defensive dome was like a turtle shell, with hexagonal aura plates tessellating across the sky to form a barrier around her and the group on the ground, layered 10 times.

When the second wave of metal feathers crashed into it, Lily observed that a single hexagonal plate would be destroyed rather than the entire shield being affected if she willed.

Surprisingly, the feathers smashed through 3 layers of plates before stopping. Lily immediately restored the destroyed hexagonal plates.

Hmm, looks like there is not enough mastery... Lily thought.

Since Howl was already in the 4-star realm and Lily, being Peak 4-star, was capable of using his skills at Peak 4-star efficiency, a single, or at most two, barriers should have been enough to stop the attack of a High 4-star at such a great distance.

"What?!"

"Lily! When did you learn this awesome defensive skill?!" Dhalia asked in astonishment.

Others had a similar reaction, while Tavian and Fruder—the intellect—immediately went to the edge of the barrier to examine it.

High up, Leo was annoying the Roc to the point of making it use as many feather attacks as possible. Leo noticed the feathers momentarily become less voluminous, then regenerate and launch out again from the Roc's body.

After about 10 minutes, the Roc stopped using feather attacks and switched to wind-based attacks, and Leo decided it was time to kill it.

He also noted that the beast could only regenerate its lost feathers, since the two holes caused by Sylrael's lance arrows still hadn't healed. Meaning it didn't have any healing skills.

But annoying it and killing it were two different things, especially when the beast was flying at such high speed and covered in dense metal feathers that rendered any physical attacks almost useless unless Leo got a lucky hit.

Leo tried standing on the Roc's back, but after sensing something riding it, it immediately jerked its body around to throw Leo away before he could properly set his footing and deliver a critical strike.

"Tsk, I wanted the damage on the body to be minimal... but I guess we will be having some burnt bird as food."

And immediately after that, a thick pillar of [Solarflare Torrent] shot toward the Roc.

At that moment, the Roc realised it was no match for Leo. Just a single glance at the thick pillar of flame was enough for the realisation to dawn on it.

It immediately turned around to dodge, the flame pillar headed toward the trees on the ground. The beast had already decided to return to its nest.

"You think you can come and go as you please?" Leo said, then threw out multiple pillars of Solarflare one after another.

Some disappeared into the sky, some burst through the ground and trees, burning them to a crisp, and one grazed the beast's feathers slightly.

And that single graze literally melted the feathers it came in contact with. The melted metal fell to the ground as red-hot liquid, and some of it remained on the body, struggling to regenerate.

Skeeeeeeeee!!!

The beast screeched and released a massive pressure of wind toward Leo in hopes of making him stop so it could create more distance.

Leo simply raised his hand in response. With all the manoeuvring he was doing, he was currently upside down in the air and tilted at a certain angle, and in that same position, he released a gust of Wind with the same massive intensity.

Both gusts crashed into each other and cancelled out each other's force, but that didn't mean the surroundings remained safe.

The all-around perpendicular force generated by the colliding wind pressure crashed through the forest, uprooting some weaker trees and throwing dust and debris everywhere. Even stronger trees would have suffered the same fate if Leo and the Roc weren't clashing so high up.

The pressure even crashed onto Lily's aura shield, making the first contact layer glow brightly as if distributing the force equally to offset the wind force.

Uraan held the back of his head with both hands in utter shock while his falcon tried its best to counter the force of the crashing wind with its own Wind.

Wasn't he supposed to be the main Wind-element player on the team?

And it was not just him. The people outside the Realm were also going mad at the sight of the battle.

"Holy shit! If the first day of competition looks this great, what else are we supposed to see next?!"

"Damn it!!! I already bet against Aurelius Beast Academy!! NOO!!!"

"The 1st ranker of Aurelius Beast Academy is so fucking strong!... Kind of hot too..."

"Fuck... if the 1st ranker of 3rd ranked human academy is so strong, just think of the strength of 1st rank of 1st ranked other races academies..."
