Chapter 686: Meat To Eat

The moment Kaelion, Uraan, and the others came within 4 kilometres of range—

"THIS BEAST IS DAMN STRONG! LEOOOOO!! HELLPPPP!!" Uraan shouted through Aeila's [Spirit Link].

Currently, both Kaelion and Uraan were riding their respective beasts, with Rhaegar the Eagleman riding alongside Kaelion due to his lower speed as they dodged the attacks of the beast following them.

The attacks were a rather unique kind Leo had seen; the avian beast was throwing out metallic feathers with the sweep of its wings at an incredibly high speed, and Kaelion and Uraan could barely dodge them with their high-speed avian beasts.

Skeeeee!

A distant screech from the beast rang out as Leo's system gave its prompt.

Ironfeather Roc (High 4-star) - Super Bloodline

It had a wingspan of nearly 100 meters, slightly shorter than Kaelion's Skyreaver, but the iron feathers covering its body gave it a menacing appearance.

Its whole body seemed to be made of iron—especially its talons, which looked like they could crush anything in their grasp.

It was obvious Uraan's Falcon was no match for it, but the metallic feathers even made it difficult for Kaelion or Sylrael to damage it.

Especially Kaelion's lightning attack, which simply phased through the Roc's metal-cased body without damaging it.

Before Sylrael's arrows could even reach the Roc, it would dodge them, meaning they had indeed found themselves in trouble.

"FUCK! We actually found the centre! It's 2000 Kilometers away from your position! But we got too close to this Roc's nest, and now it wants our assesl!" Uraan gave a gist of what happened while dodging multiple feather attacks aimed at him.

Leo noticed that the beast seemed to be generating the missing feathers right away. Meaning it had two elements: wind and metal.

When they saw that Leo was within range to help them, Kaelion increased his beast's speed and rose higher into the sky to get above the Roc, and then—

Crackle—CRASH!

Two thick bolts of lightning crashed down on the Roc.

But once again, the lightning crashed onto the Roc and simply phased through the metallic feathers, passing down and blasting to the ground.

The Roc's surroundings and feathers seemed to be only momentarily charged, but it wasn't affected at all.

Sylrael also fired multiple arrows at once, and only after covering some distance did the arrows start to enlarge into thick lances, propelling straight at the Roc's frame. However, the beast effortlessly manoeuvred around them.

The arrows fell straight down into the ground, as if wooden pillars sent from heaven were digging deep into the earth.

The students sucked in a deep breath after seeing how large the arrows had grown.

"What the fuck...?"

Each arrow had become around 50 to 70 meters in length and had a diameter of 1 to 2 meters.

Each was enough to kill or severely injure any beast in the 4-star range.

Even the people across the 3 Empires were stunned.

"What in the world? Can archers be this strong!?"

"Damn! Arrows could be used this way?"

"And here I was thinking Aurelius Beast Academy was finished just at the start!"

"Hey, look!"

Somebody pointed at the livestream.

Currently, no academy had found itself in as interesting a situation as Aurelius Beast Academy.

As a matter of fact, many people were even cursing Kaelion and Uraan for putting their whole team in danger, but now they needed to rethink that.

Because—

Suddenly, two arrows that Sylrael had not enhanced to trick the Roc suddenly enlarged.

The Roc's eyes contracted, but it was too late. Both immediately struck it on the back.

Unfortunately, the arrows hadn't gained that much size, so they only made shallow strikes, whose force was further reduced by the metallic feathers.

The Roc immediately jerked its body and did a 360-degree rotation to dislodge the arrows before they could further expand and shot towards Kaelion's Skyreaver in the sky.

Skyreaver immediately released a strong gust of wind to force the Roc to stop, but the Roc countered with its own wind gust that cancelled the force, keeping its flight unaffected.

Sylrael immediately released more arrow lances, most of which were dodged by the Roc, but those that hit sheared its feathers and a chunk of meat off its body. This disrupted the beast's flight, allowing the Skyreaver to reach a safe distance.

By now, Leo had already ascended into the sky at full speed. Sylrael had done her job as a distraction.

"We managed to secure a good source of food!" Leo said triumphantly.

While Leo had already decided to eat the Roc, the other students were baffled.

"How the fuck is he flying without wind?!"

But that was something to worry about later. Right now, Leo was already taking flight, matching the speed of the Roc.

Since there were no ground hurdles to worry about, nor the need for wind manipulation to throw him around, he could utilise his complete agility stat to achieve free flight with a weightless body, with only air drag and low stamina consumption restricting him.

[Sacred Physique] - 4 star

- A superior physique possessed by Guardian and Deity Beasts. It grants a naturally weightless body, allowing effortless levitation, precise aerial manoeuvrability, enhanced balance, and significantly reduced physical exertion while travelling.

But unfortunately, it was a 4-star physique, meaning Leo couldn't utilise the full force of the low 5-star being he was capable of using and was capped at the 5000 stat-point mark.

But still, 5000 times a normal human's speed was tremendous... that is, in a vacuum—where there was no air drag.

But since Leo was capable of using wind to reduce drag to a great degree, and his physique was strong enough to withstand the pressure of high-speed flight, he could easily match, if not exceed, the Roc's flight speed.

The Roc immediately panicked after sensing a Peak 4-star being taking flight alongside it, causing it to lash out and lose balance.

Back in the Emperor's chambers, even Cyrandel and Louis leaned forward. Aurex seemed to have gotten somewhere busy, since his seat was empty.

"Louis... is that the [Deity Physique]?"

Louis narrowed his eyes.

"Not quite... looks like something lower... maybe [Sacred]? But how the hell does he has it?"

"That's what I am thinking. Shouldn't this physique be limited to those worshipped beasts? How does he have it? He is a human, right?"

"I mean... that's what my sister and brother-in-law say..." Louis muttered.
