Chapter 556 Effect Of Soulmate Bond
A/N: The Soul bond between Thalvyr and Zharrissa is of a Soulmate. I wrote it as a soul bond by mistake.

Chapter 556: Effect Of Soulmate Bond
Leo frowned.
System, where's the description for Soul Bond? Leo asked, expecting the description for the Soul Bond to appear just as the description for the Master-Servant Bond had before.
No response.
Leo immediately understood that even among Soul Bonds, there were different levels. And a Soulmate Bond was classified as a higher-grade soul bond than a Master-Servant Bond.
Which was why the System had given Leo the description for the Master-Servant Bond, but not for the Soulmate Bond.
Leo left that matter aside and checked their statuses. Since Naelith and Lyswenna were teaching them the rules of serving under Leo, he had some time.
Dragonnewts...? And what is that percentage beside that? Are they Lizardmen or Dragonnewts?
>Currently, they are Lizardmen. However, the process of racial transformation has begun. The percentage represents the progress of the transformation. Once it reaches 100%, their bodies will moult into the evolved form of their race.
Leo raised a brow.
Is this the effect of the Salamander Water Lake? Leo wondered, recalling the old Lizardman's words from the Ashen Lizardmen Tribe.
Or...
Leo looked at Thalvyr's and Zharrissa's talents.
[Draconic Genesis] - 4-star
[Dragon Sage Blood] - 4-star
Thalvyr's talent allowed him to slowly progress toward a more perfect draconic form, while Zharrissa's talent directly granted her the essence of Dragon Blood. In other words, these talents could be the key to them becoming Dragonnewts. And their children naturally possessed even more refined bloodlines, with their son already at 99%.
System, what would I need to do in order to push their evolution? Leo asked.
>Feeding them high-tier treasures related to their race and traits. Even helping them rank up, would accomplish that.
Leo was delighted by the answer because he had already acquired plenty of flame-based natural treasures that Thalvyr, Cindriss, and Arkvyr could use. Especially those mangos, which had even helped Naelith rank up.
The only problem was Zharrissa. She was magic-oriented.
Leo searched through his treasures, hoping to find something suitable.
[Earthpulse Lifecore] - Mid-Purple Tier Treasure
[Obsidian Blood Reed] - Pseudo Blue Tier × 11
[Ashveil Laurel] - Mid-Purple Tier
Of these, the Ashveil Laurel was out of the question because it only produced its essence once every 10 years, and according to Thalvyr, the last time it had done so was 7 years ago. Which meant 3 more years before it could be of any use. Alternatively, Leo would need to plant it somewhere, and that could only be done on Howl's back.
So Leo decided it would be best to use the [Earthpulse Lifecore] and have Veronica conduct experiments on the Obsidian Blood Reeds to produce potions for Zharrissa.
Since the Lizardmen weren't Leo's tamed beasts, nor did they possess a true soul connection with him, he couldn't use his talent on them. So helping them progress would take time.
Still, he had a question.
"Thalvyr, how come Zharrissa is Pseudo 4-star even though her physique is so weak in the volcanic environment?"
"Lord, since I fed her many vitality-rich treasures and many mana-enriching treasures, combined with regular baths in the Salamander Water Lake and her own personal effort, she managed to reach that level," Thalvyr replied, addressing Leo as Lord because the elves had told him Leo preferred it.
Leo then looked toward Zharrissa, who was sleeping peacefully on Nyxa's broad back.
"How long will it take for her to recover? She's out of the Ashen Wilderness now, so she should function normally, no?"
"She will, but it will take quite some time. Maybe even months for her vitality to recover. I remember the four occasions when I fed her the Ashveil Essence. Even though she became highly resistant to the hot weather, it still took her around 3 months to come into peak condition..."
Leo nodded in understanding and glanced toward Cindriss and Arkvyr. Cindriss kept her head lowered and even pressed Arkvyr's head down with her hand in front of Leo.
"Four occasions, you say... Is that when you decided to have two children out of those four?"
Thalvyr stuttered at the sudden, out-of-context question.
"Y-yes... it was actually during the 2nd and 4th occasions that Zharrissa successfully conceived."
Leo rubbed his chin.
"But I've heard Lizardmen often have twins, triplets, or even quadruplets. Are you saying your two children were born individually?" Leo asked.
At that, Thalvyr's expression turned solemn.
"Actually, she couldn't conceive at all in the beginning. I don't know what happened, but once she finally did become pregnant, every pregnancy failed because of her weak physique. Then, 4 decades ago, the Ashveil Laurel suddenly produced its essence, restoring Zharrissa, and we finally had hope."
As soon as Thalvyr finished speaking, the System displayed a message.
>Breeding between inferior and superior breeds of the same race is impossible. If both the male and female partners are undergoing evolution, the difference in their evolutionary progress must not exceed 20% for them to successfully conceive.
Leo immediately understood. Back then, the difference between Thalvyr's and Zharrissa's evolutionary progress must have exceeded 20%. But when Thalvyr somehow reduced that gap below 20%, Zharrissa was finally able to conceive.
However, Thalvyr's next words confused Leo.
"But all hope was destroyed when the pregnancy failed even after that. At one point, she even suggested that I take another woman so I could have children."
Eh? How? Leo couldn't understand why the pregnancy would still fail when her body had already recovered.
>During evolution, pregnancies can still fail if the unborn child does not inherit a suitable combination of genes that would support its body in that unstable phase.
The system answered, clearing Leo's doubt.
"But I chose to remain with only her. I don't know what changed after that, but one day we suddenly realised we could feel each other more deeply and even influence our children's births, almost as if our ancestors had finally shown us mercy. She successfully gave birth to Cindriss."
Leo nodded.
He could already imagine that Thalvyr's unwavering decision to remain with Zharrissa had deepened their Soulmate Bond. And since the Soulmate Bond directly influenced their offspring, Cindriss and Arkvyr had been born with exceptional talents that, in some ways, surpassed even those of their parents.
"Then why the 1-decade gap? Couldn't you have tried during the 3rd decade of the Ashveil Laurel's cycle?" Leo asked.
"We were simply being careful," Thalvyr replied.
Neither man showed the slightest hint of embarrassment discussing such matters since no one else was around to overhear them, and it was an important topic for both of them. Thalvyr was already a father, and Leo didn't know when he would find himself becoming one all of a sudden, given how fierce he is with Lily.
A moment later, Thalvyr took the opportunity to ask Leo something.
"But Lord... if I may ask, why do you emit the aura of a Wyvern despite being human?"
Leo stared at Thalvyr, dumbfounded.
Oh shit.
Leo cursed inwardly, but it was already too late.
