Chapter 421: Contributing Members And Bisons

Chapter 421: Contributing Members And Bisons

Chapter 421: Contributing Members And Bisons

After going through the details, Leo understood who the contributing members were.

“It’s like the hunter guild outside the academy…” he muttered.

Contributing Members were those who had the same or a higher number of credit points as the number of days a territory had existed. So, if a territory had lasted for 30 days, a person with 30 or more credits was considered a contributing member. If the territory had lasted for 1000 days, then 1000 credit points were required, and so on.

As for people who left and joined territories, their credits reset for that specific territory only—their overall credits remained unchanged.

So, if Brok had 800 credits in his previous territory, his account still maintained those 800 credits. But now that he was in Leo’s territory, he would start from 0 for this one.

To earn credit points, it was through Aurelius Hall’s missions. These credits were not limited to the academy either; if a person left or graduated, they could use the same credits in the Hunter’s Guild to obtain a hunter’s license of equal value. This allowed them to register as veteran hunters right from the start.

As for why a beast master would join the hunter’s guild rather than the Beast Hall, it was for undercover missions. A hunter was always underestimated compared to a beast master, making missions easier when enemies didn’t go all out, assuming the person in front of them was weaker.

Seeing this, Leo’s eyes flickered with an idea.

“What if I allow the elves to earn credits for themselves?” he thought.

Even if they couldn’t maintain AC balance, they were still allowed to keep smartphones if their masters permitted it. This made communication and identification easier.

With this, the elves could earn credits, and Leo could allow them to obtain a hunter’s license in the Human Empire. At the same time, they could go to the Elven lands and obtain a hunter’s license in their own Empire—though Leo didn’t know why, Humans and Elves seemed to follow almost identical systems.

This way, the elves could take on missions inside the Human Empire when he wasn’t available, and in the Elven Empire simply because they were elves. As a human, Leo wouldn’t be allowed to operate there freely, making it difficult to obtain treasures and beasts from those lands. But with the elves active, that limitation vanished.

The only hurdle was whether credits earned in Aurelius Academy—a human institution—would be recognized in the Elven Empire. But that was a problem for another day.

Leo also realized that this academy system for territories wasn’t limited to the 20 years a student remained. After graduating, a territory leader could opt to become a permanent lord of their territory. They would be removed from rankings, and their colour tier would shift into a number-based tier like the cities across the Empire.

If the student didn’t join the teaching staff, they would become nobles of the Empire based on the land under their control. The territory beacon would be replaced by a Medallion—the same one Leo had received when he registered as a beast master—and the territory would officially become a city under the Aurelius Kingdom, which itself existed under the Human Empire of Velerath.

“Wow… it feels like even academies are slowly rebuilding this destroyed world,” Leo murmured, a faint breath escaping him, “turning it into a habitable place again.”

Brant had already said that a 200-kilometer radius around the academy’s main building was a relatively safe zone, filled with 3-star or lower-ranked beasts. One day would come when even 1-star beasts would become rare, and normal, powerless people would be able to roam freely.

“By the way… a Peak blue-tier territory would become a tier-3 city… maybe a bit lower due to population clauses in tiered cities, but damn… just what was Zerek doing for Kendru to remain a tier-1 city all this time?”

The last thing Leo remembered was that Zerek had ruled the city for as long as he could recall. If Leo could venture a bit farther and obtain an Orange-tier treasure like Elasian Bloom, was Zerek such a whimp that he couldn’t even secure a Blue or Purple-tier one? Especially when the outskirts were known to be treasure troves—such resources could be found anywhere if one actually looked.

Even in cleared areas like the 80-kilometer zone around the academy, Leo had found a low-Purple tier Fluxsoil Heart. There was no way Kendru didn’t have similar resources nearby. It was practically proven when Leo found the Elasian Bloon just a few kilometres outside the city boundaries—an area marked as high-risk, yet easily accessible to someone of Baron-level strength.

“Oh… he wasn’t even a Baron,” Leo muttered, irritation flashing across his face. He felt like dragging the headless corpse he still had with him and slapping its non-existent head into oblivion.

“I’m getting more and more excited to visit brother James,” he said to himself, a faint grin forming. “By now, the city must be at least tier-2 with all the resources it would’ve gained because of talents like me, Lily, and Miho appearing.”

He paused, his expression shifting.

“Wait… that rat, Alric, is also alive… oh, now that I think about it, I need to settle accounts with the head of Alric’s family. Is it the grandfather or the father? Whoever it is… how dare they harass Lily and her parents like that?”

A moment later, he shook his head.

“No… why should I do it? Lily can handle it herself. In the end, she was the one who suffered the most.”

He was just about to turn and share the good news of successfully defending their territory when Nyxa’s voice suddenly rang out in his mind.

“Master! So many moos! Come fast, I want to eat some moos!”

“Moos? The bisons?” Leo blinked, then let out a quiet chuckle. “Do bisons even moo? Looks like she mistook them for cows.”

Even if her body was 8 to 9 meters huge, she was still a kid at the end.

He quickly told her to hold back her appetite. A predator like Nyxa appearing suddenly would scare them off, making them much harder to catch.

After informing the others, a group was immediately formed.

The four core members—Leo, Lily, Miho, and Kaelion—were present. From the elves’ side, Elirin, Elaris, and Sylrael joined them. Elaris because of her hunter talent.

Just as they were about to set off, someone came running toward them.

“Lord! This treasure fruit—please take it!” Aeila called out, slightly breathless as she approached, extending the Earthpulse Lifecore toward Leo.
