Abandoned Woman Busy Farming
Chapter 2954 - 2955: Becoming the Emperor
Chapter 2954: Chapter 2955: Becoming the Emperor
Little Dengdeng said unhappily, "I’m not from your Chengshui Country, okay. I couldn’t swim when I was born, my mom taught me later."
"Your Grandpa is of the Chengshui Royal Family, your father is too, so naturally you are as well." The man raised his voice a bit, apparently very displeased that Little Dengdeng claimed he wasn’t from Chengshui.
Little Dengdeng’s eyes rolled around as he decided not to clash with him anymore. He’d just quietly wait for his parents to rescue him, and in the meantime, sit in the carriage and pet the cat.
The carriage kept moving nonstop. Little Dengdeng was worried his parents wouldn’t catch up. After thinking it over, he shouted, "Ow, stop the cart, I need to use the toilet!"
"Kid, don’t play tricks. With those short little legs of yours you can’t run anywhere." the man said.
"You’re the one with short little legs. I really need to go, my stomach really hurts. Or do you want me to poop in the carriage and pee all over it?" His little mouth rattled on like firecrackers.
The man frowned but in the end still had the carriage stop. He personally watched over Little Dengdeng as he went to relieve himself.
"Are you done yet? Don’t waste time." he urged impatiently.
Little Dengdeng pulled down his pants and squatted on the ground. "I’d like to be done, but I’m constipated."
"What kind of kid has so many problems?" the man said in disbelief.
"Kids are the ones who get constipated easily, especially when all you feed me is dried food, with no vegetables or fruit at all. It’d be weird if I wasn’t constipated. My stomach hurts like hell, don’t talk to me, you’re disturbing my poop." Little Dengdeng said with full righteous indignation.
The man’s face went black. He hadn’t complained about the stink, yet the kid was complaining about him talking too much.
Little Dengdeng squatted until his legs went numb and even stood up to move around twice. Seeing the man about to blow his top, he finally squeezed out a little banana-shaped turd.
"What did you grow up eating, how can it stink this much." the man said in disgust.
"I grew up eating the dried food you gave me, obviously. I should be asking you what the hell that stuff was, it almost killed me." Little Dengdeng wiped his butt and dawdled his way back into the horse carriage.
The convoy moved on. Not long after, Jiang Yichun and Chushuang arrived at the spot and found a clump of cat fur on the ground.
Cats all shed, Ragdolls too. And Ragdoll fur is long, just a bit is enough to roll into a little Furball.
Just now in the carriage, Little Dengdeng had pretended to casually pet the cat, but in fact he’d grabbed quite a bit of Snowball’s soft fur, rolled it into a ball, and tossed it on the roadside.
"Mom, that’s a marker Dengdeng left." Thinking of his son’s cleverness, Jiang Yichun felt very gratified.
Chushuang let out a breath. "They shouldn’t be far. Let’s keep chasing."
The two of them used their lightness Skill and rushed ahead. Very soon they saw the horse carriage in front.
"Dengdeng is in that carriage. Don’t rush in yet, I’ll use music to confuse them first." Chushuang’s Merfolk songs could confuse Merfolk, and she could also use flute sounds to bewilder those who heard them.
She and Jiang Yichun drew closer, then took out a short Bamboo Flute and began to play.
The melodious flute sound rang out, and Little Dengdeng inside the carriage almost jumped up with joy.
It was his Grandma’s flute sound. Grandma had even wanted to teach him before, but sadly he’d had zero interest. He just wished his younger brothers would hurry up and grow, so the Elders at home would teach them the family’s secret arts instead of dumping everything on him. He couldn’t handle it.
"Not good, cover your ears!" The man reacted quickly. After shouting, he rushed into the carriage and grabbed Little Dengdeng’s shoulder.
"Behave yourself. Don’t think I don’t dare kill you."
Little Dengdeng pouted. "Just now you were saying you’d take us home, saying we’re people of Chengshui? Then are you our family? Would family kill me?"
The man froze for a moment. In that instant of distraction, Little Dengdeng rolled on the spot and rolled straight toward the carriage door.
"Don’t run!" The man lunged over to grab Dengdeng, only for Snowball to let out a meow and suddenly charge straight at him.
It was simply courting death. No matter how weird this strange cat was, it was still just a cat. It actually wanted to ram him?
Before he could finish the thought, he felt a tremendous force slam into him. His whole body flew backward and his back smashed hard into the carriage wall.
How could a cat have that much strength? That wasn’t a cat, was it?
Little Dengdeng was stunned as well. When he jumped off the speeding carriage and rolled on the ground, his arms suddenly felt empty—Snowball had jumped out of his embrace on its own.
When he turned his head and saw Snowball pounce at the man, he realized Snowball was trying to protect him. He cried out anxiously.
Luckily, the next moment Snowball dove back into his arms. But the whole kitty was weak and listless, as if it had spent all its strength.
The man’s subordinates lunged toward Little Dengdeng, but a black shadow flashed in front of him and scooped Little Dengdeng up.
"Dad, you’re finally here, I was scared to death!" Little Dengdeng cried out, aggrieved.
"Don’t be afraid, your Grandma’s here too, and your mother and the others will be here soon. Nothing’s going to happen." Jiang Yichun soothed his son in a low voice, then raised his hand and knocked down two attacking guards.
The lingering flute sound was like a lullaby, but it targeted the group from Chengshui Country. Many guards collapsed to the ground as if they were drunk.
The man shook his head hard and used his inner strength to force back the sweeping drowsiness. Then, using his lightness Skill, he leapt out of the carriage and blocked Jiang Yichun’s path.
"You’re not leaving." he said with a dark face.
"Who are you? You really think you can stop me?" Jiang Yichun looked at him with disdain.
The man took a deep breath. "I am the Eternal King of Chengshui Country. You are a Chengshui native, so why stay in Danliang working yourself to the bone for others? As long as you return to Chengshui, the throne will be yours in the future. Why should you have to live at the mercy of others?"
"I have no interest in being Emperor. You kidnapped my son, and I won’t let this go." Jiang Yichun handed Little Dengdeng to Chushuang, who was walking over while playing the flute, then his whole figure blurred into an afterimage as he attacked the man.
The man’s inner strength was profound. He raised his hand and blocked Jiang Yichun’s attack, but in the next second his hand froze over, and the ice quickly spread up toward his neck and body.
His expression changed drastically, but he quickly calmed down and summoned his inner strength. With a bang, the layer of ice covering him shattered completely, turning into countless ice particles that scattered across the ground.
"I’m not from Chengshui. Give up on that idea. If you want to wade into that muddy water, that’s your business. I have no interest in Chengshui’s grand schemes." Jiang Yichun said.
"Who doesn’t want to be Emperor? What are you afraid of? You were born into the Chengshui Royal Family. Once your father becomes Emperor, you’ll be Crown Prince, and later the Emperor of Chengshui." The Eternal King spoke earnestly, just short of swearing an oath.
Jiang Yichun stared at him, sizing him up. He rarely operated in Chengshui before, but still knew a bit about the affairs of the Chengshui Royal Family. He had simply never heard of an Eternal King, and this Eternal King came off a bit... unhinged.
"If it’s such a good deal, then you go be the Emperor of Chengshui. You’re the Eternal King, you should have Imperial family blood as well, right?" Jiang Yichun asked.
The man sneered. "I’m obsessed with training in martial arts. How would I have time to be that damned Emperor? Just coming to find you has already wasted too much of my time. If I become Emperor, how am I supposed to devote myself fully to martial cultivation?"
