Chapter 2873: Chapter 2874: Paper Crane Guide

"Then should we stop searching for the dancing girls?" someone asked.

Bai Ruozhu rolled her eyes at him, "You’ve been with me for so long, why haven’t you learned to be smart? Find the items first, then search for the dancing girls in an instant, don’t alert the enemy."

"Understood." The dark guard felt regretful; such a simple method, and yet he asked a pointless question.

The group split up, leaving only Jianqi by Bai Ruozhu’s side.

Bai Ruozhu headed toward the center of the backyard. Generally, the Main Courtyard is in the most central location.

The security in the Sun Residence wasn’t that tight, and Bai Ruozhu and Jianqi easily bypassed the guards.

"Master, since nothing came of it, it’s not good to keep the songstress in the yard, better send her away," a woman’s voice came from inside the house.

"That won’t do, even though she didn’t succeed, I don’t believe Jiang Yichun wasn’t tempted at all. I’m a man, wouldn’t I know a man’s mind? He’s just wary of Bai Ruozhu now and doesn’t dare make a move. Once Bai Ruozhu lets her guard down, he’ll definitely take the person in; what if we can’t find her then?" Sun Zhou said.

The woman sounded displeased, "You do understand men well. But even if Jiang Yichun takes her in, how close can he get to you, and how much can he help you?"

"What do you know as a woman?" Sun Zhou said dismissively, "I heard Bai Ruozhu has had several children, can she still keep her figure and skin in good shape? Jiang Yichun must have grown tired. With a beauty in his arms, how could Jiang Yichun not be moved? But Bai Ruozhu is jealous, she’ll definitely clash with Jiang Yichun, which will only make him dislike her more. Who knows, he might just divorce her someday."

Sun Zhou laughed and continued, "Bai Ruozhu only used her connections with the Jiang Family to start the Medical Alliance. Without Jiang Yichun’s help, how long could her alliance last?"

The woman was somewhat worried, "I heard Jiang Yichun is very devoted to Bai Ruozhu, you better not end up angering him with your schemes."

"What do you know, which man isn’t unfaithful? Ying Ji is a rare beauty, Jiang Yichun won’t be able to resist. If Bai Ruozhu hadn’t returned so quickly, this matter would have been settled long ago," Sun Zhou said smugly.

Outside, Jianqi listened with burning anger, wanting to rush in and deal with Sun Zhou, but Bai Ruozhu held him back.

Bai Ruozhu made a shushing gesture, discreetly scattered some powder inside the room, then pulled Jianqi away.

"Master, that Sun Zhou deserves to die!" Jianqi said coldly.

"After all, he’s an officer of the Imperial Court, and I only hit him during the day. If he’s assassinated at night, I’d be implicated no matter what," Bai Ruozhu smiled, "Didn’t he say which man isn’t unfaithful? I’ll let him indulge."

Jianqi was somewhat puzzled, "How will he indulge?"

"You’ll see it slowly," Bai Ruozhu smirked; although she didn’t say it, Jianqi knew it couldn’t be anything good. Whenever she smiled like this, the other party would have a bad time.

At this moment, Jianqi’s ears twitched, "Master, there’s a discovery."

"Let’s go have a look," Bai Ruozhu gestured.

Jianqi led the way, bringing Bai Ruozhu to a storage room in the backyard. Inside were large items, and Bai Ruozhu quickly noticed a gold-cast Immortal Crane, with a base under the crane’s legs. Judging from the size, it was exactly where she had detected the problem.

"Tsk tsk, pure gold, rich people indeed." Bai Ruozhu laughed.

Typically, where there’s an Immortal Crane, there’s a corresponding Dragon Turtle, and indeed on the other side, she found a gold-crafted Dragon Turtle.

There were also some porcelain and wood artifacts, not all priceless, but certainly not ordinary.

For example, a bonsai stand made from Hainan huanghuali wood, exuding the distinctive refreshing scent of pearwood, leaving one feeling joyful.

There was also a pair of waist-high vases, made with cloisonné, each pattern extraordinarily intricate, and just by their size, the prices wouldn’t be low.

Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment and said to the dark guards, "These are all ordinary things, keep looking. He must have treasures hidden even more securely, finding those would be better."

"Understood." The dark guards immediately dispersed, and Jianqi, being perceptive, said, "Master, I’ll go check around outside, maybe there’s something to find."

"Good." Bai Ruozhu was pleased with Jianqi’s understanding nature. She knew Jianqi knew a bit about her Space, but Jianqi didn’t know specifics and would not ask.

Once Jianqi went out and closed the door, Bai Ruozhu waved her hand, and with a thought, took all the large items from the warehouse into her Space, directly piling them in the corner of the Back Mountain.

The task was done swiftly, and in less than a few breaths, the warehouse was empty.

Bai Ruozhu exited the warehouse, found Jianqi not far away, and moved on to another place.

However, the subsequent search wasn’t very successful; Sun Zhou had hidden his treasures with great caution, and the dark guards hadn’t found anything significant.

Bai Ruozhu sighed somewhat; if only Fo Lanying were here, she would definitely discover something. Is her ailment completely gone now?

Before she could linger on the thought, a Paper Crane flew toward her, hovering by her side.

"It’s the Yin Yang Techniques from the Astrologer!" she said, reaching out to grab the Paper Crane, but it deftly flew forward, stopping not far away, as if leading her to a particular place.

"Gather the dark guards and follow me, it seems the Astrologer and his group are in need of help," Bai Ruozhu whispered.

"Understood." Jianqi immediately signaled, and the dark guards quickly gathered around.

Bai Ruozhu followed the Paper Crane, leading everyone out of the city and toward the mountain outside the city.

The Paper Crane didn’t fly quickly, so everyone could keep up, and soon they reached halfway up the mountain. The Paper Crane suddenly fell to the ground, losing its previous luminous glow, becoming just an inanimate ordinary Paper Crane.

"Master, what is happening?" Jianqi asked, puzzled.

"Perhaps the Paper Crane’s energy has been depleted, or perhaps it was originally released here by the Astrologer, and could only guide us to this point. He and Ao Song shouldn’t be far from here," Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment but gave up on shouting loudly. Not knowing the situation, shouting out loud would be too reckless.

"Should we have everyone spread out to search?" Jianqi asked.

Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment, reached into her sleeve, and took out an origami wind chime. She tossed it into the air, and it lit up, transforming into a three-dimensional wind chime lamp, something gifted to her by the Astrologer in Fusang.

"It should be able to lead us to the Astrologer," Bai Ruozhu smiled, nearly forgetting this useful item.

The lamp emitted a faint glow, gentle and soothing, seemingly pushing away the dark energy around them.

The group followed the lamp, moving forward until they spotted a patch of white in the distance. With her keen eyesight, Bai Ruozhu was the first to recognize it as Ao Song.

She hurried over, "Ao Song, what’s going on?"

"I called you for help! A Little Demon we caught almost escaped," Ao Song seemed very frustrated, his teeth grinding loudly, "I must catch her today, or where will my honor go?"
