Chapter 347: Chapter 347: An Old Cow Eats Tender Grass (3)

Leo Fenton saw her hesitation and knew her resolve was starting to waver; she wasn’t as firm as before. He continued, "It’s true you’re very talented with stocks, but that doesn’t mean you’re as skilled at management! Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses!"

"You’re a novice when it comes to business management. You lack experience and could easily make mistakes. Besides, Keystone Technologies is already plagued with problems, and the internal issues are even worse. A single misstep could spark conflict! Plus, you’re new to the business world and have no connections. If you run into trouble, you’ll have no one to help you. With my promise, you won’t have to worry about any of that. Think about it carefully. If you help me manage my investments, you’ll not only get a hefty income but also a promise that could save your life! These days, you couldn’t find a deal this good even if you searched with a lantern! Are you really going to refuse?"

As Leo Fenton spoke, he watched Nadia Chapman’s expression. He could see her attitude softening; he was winning her over! ’She’s smart, sure, but no amount of intelligence can make up for a lack of experience!’

"I can agree to your proposal. Come find me in half a month," Nadia Chapman finally relented after a moment of thought.

Having finally achieved his goal, Leo Fenton was in high spirits and feeling generous. After dinner, the two of them went straight to a shopping mall, where he bought her a very expensive watch as a thank-you gift. Nadia Chapman didn’t stand on ceremony and accepted it directly.

Everything was going perfectly—perhaps too perfectly. As Leo Fenton was driving Nadia Chapman home, the rear of his car was violently "kissed" from behind. The two of them were thrown forward before being jolted back into their seats. Thankfully, they were both wearing seatbelts. Otherwise, they would have ended up with a big red bump on their foreheads, if not a nasty bruise.

Leo Fenton’s head swam for a moment before he could process what had happened. The second he recovered, a surge of anger flared up. He immediately got out of the car to confront the other driver. "Who the hell isn’t watching where they’re going? How dare you hit the back of my car? This is a new car! I haven’t even had it for a month!"

He had stormed out of the car, full of righteous anger and ready for a fight. But when he saw the brand-new, pristine white Maybach, and then glanced at its license plate, the fury in his heart vanished instantly.

"Well, if it isn’t Mr. Fenton. My apologies. This car just got out of the shop, and the brakes aren’t very responsive. So sorry about that," Leo Warren said, getting out of his car as well. Though he spoke the words of an apology, his tone held not a hint of remorse.

"No problem! No problem at all! I’ve had this car long enough anyway, it’s about time for a new one! It’s just that the old man wouldn’t let me get a new one. Now I have the perfect excuse to switch cars!" Leo Fenton’s anger had vanished in an instant. The smile on his face was blindingly bright, and it wasn’t hard to see the deep reverence behind it.

Nadia Chapman watched the huge shift in Leo Fenton’s demeanor and shook her head to clear it. She walked to the back of the car. Leo Fenton’s car was in a sorry state; the entire rear was caved in. Yet he didn’t show the slightest hint of displeasure. In fact, he was still smiling. ’This isn’t normal. This is seriously not normal!’ Nadia glanced at the white Maybach. The car was expensive, yes, but not so expensive that it should make Leo Fenton’s attitude change so drastically.

’Looks like the person he’s really afraid of is the one inside the car,’ Nadia Chapman thought, her eyes glinting. "You’re not going to ask for compensation?"

Leo Fenton’s expression changed slightly. He immediately said, "Compensation? What compensation! We’re all friends here, no need to be strangers!"

"Friends, huh?" Nadia Chapman looked closely at the other car. A man was sitting in the back seat. She couldn’t make out his face, but she could feel his powerful presence. Suddenly, she had the feeling that he was looking at her. Even though she couldn’t see him, she could feel it. He was looking at her.
