A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 346: Chapter 346: An Old Cow Eats Tender Grass (2)
Nadia Chapman turned. ’That’s Noelle Patterson for you,’ she thought. ’Still so young, even after having a daughter, yet she can keep Justin Chapman wrapped around her little finger. Her words were impeccable—a flawless lecture aimed right at me. Not just anyone could manage that. Mrs. Chapman’s cunning was truly on another level. I used to avoid conflict with them, back when I still held a sliver of hope for this family.’
But now, Fiona Chapman had destroyed that last shred of hope. Since she had nothing left to hope for from this family, why bother preserving this final fig leaf? "Miss Patterson, didn’t you know? Dad was the one who told me to go out! It seems he’d rather I go on a date than have a reunion dinner with the family. In the future, if you want to use Dad’s name to lecture someone, you’d better check with him first. Otherwise, you’ll end up like this, telling lies that can’t stand up to the slightest scrutiny. And you’re my elder. So, you tell me. Should I expose you, or should I not?"
Nadia Chapman shot the mother-daughter duo a brilliant smile, then turned and elegantly walked out of the Chapman residence in her high heels. ’I never thought I’d see the day Noelle Patterson would be defeated at my hands!’
Waiting outside was none other than Leo Fenton. Ever since the appraisal conference ended, he had come to the Chapman residence every day to invite her out, but he had never once succeeded. Nadia Chapman’s stance was firm: she would not help anyone else with their investments. ’I really thought a self-important rich kid like Leo Fenton wouldn’t be able to handle being rejected so many times,’ she had thought. ’I was sure he’d give up!’
But to her surprise, he was incredibly persistent. After she rejected him for three straight days, he came back on the fourth. This time, however, he’d gotten smart; instead of approaching her directly, he had gone to Justin Chapman. Otherwise, he would have gone home empty-handed again today.
"Miss Chapman, getting to see you is no easy task!" Leo Fenton exclaimed. ’I’ve never had such a hard time trying to meet with someone!’
"I’m not a fan of that title. Please, call me Nadia." That was the only thing Nadia Chapman said after getting into the car. Afterward, she simply let Leo Fenton drive, asking neither their destination nor their purpose. She left it all for him to decide.
This was their first date.
"Name your price. What will it take for you to agree to help me invest? Whatever your terms are, I’ll meet them!" Leo Fenton didn’t beat around the bush this time; he laid his cards on the table.
He had capital and was already an investor, but the current investment landscape was too risky. Many ventures had cycles that were too long, saw returns too slowly, and offered low profits. Compared to those methods, stock trading was fast and short-term, but it came with high risks. Many people from wealthy families played the stock market, but they almost always lost more than they gained. None of them had Nadia Chapman’s talent and foresight. If Nadia could help him, it would be like having a goose that laid golden eggs. The only problem was getting that golden goose to say yes. That was the real challenge.
"I have no terms. This is not up for discussion!" Nadia Chapman’s attitude remained resolute, showing no sign of budging.
"Why not? I can pay you the market rate for your services, or you can take a commission! Better yet, I can promise you that if Keystone Technologies ever runs short on funds, the Fenton Family’s private bank can provide a loan at any time. You should think this through. Not everyone gets an offer like this! With this promise, Keystone Technologies would have a safety net. Even if it faced another massive crisis like before, it would weather the storm."
Leo Fenton continued his gentle persuasion, determined to achieve his goal today, no matter what.
Nadia Chapman’s expression remained unchanged. After a long silence, she asked, "With me around, do you really think Keystone Technologies will face the same problems it did before? Or, let’s say Keystone *does* run into trouble. Do you think I would ever let the company collapse from a simple lack of funds?"
