Chapter 339: Seraphina’s Next Target (Part 3)
Chapter 339: Chapter 339: Seraphina’s Next Target (Part 3)
"You trade stocks?" Justin Chapman blurted out in shock. You couldn’t blame him for his startled reaction—the news was just that stunning.
To have amassed such a fortune just from stock trading... Her skills must be incredible! Her mother had possessed a keen eye for the market and had never lost a single trade. He never imagined that Nadia would be just as brilliant.
Justin Chapman was so shocked he was speechless. As he looked at the daughter before him, he could faintly see traces of his ex-wife. The startup capital for the Chapman family’s jewelry company had come from her stock market earnings!
Nadia ignored him and followed Chester Sykes directly into the main auction hall. Only after putting some distance between herself and the crowd behind her did she finally let out a sigh of relief. ’That ordeal is finally over! What on earth is Seraphina Sterling planning? Making me come here to cause such a scene! I’ve never been stared at by so many people before. She didn’t even give me any time to prepare. This is so nerve-wracking!’
For someone as young as Nadia to know how to trade stocks? And to have made so much money! What a prodigy! At her age, her future is limitless!
Is that Justin Chapman blind? He has such an amazing daughter, yet he doesn’t dote on her or even treat her well! Is something wrong with him? If our children were as talented as Nadia, we’d spoil them rotten and give them anything they wanted! He’s truly taking his blessings for granted! How many of the great families nowadays have children as brilliant as her?
Justin Chapman, lost in thought, allowed Fiona Chapman to lead him into the main hall.
After everyone had dispersed, a slick, pretty boy emerged from the crowd. This was none other than Leo Fenton, whom Seraphina Sterling had met not long ago—the future heir to Fenton Bank.
’Nadia Chapman?’ he thought. ’Excellent!’
At that very moment, Seraphina Sterling was sitting beside Walter Sterling. Thanks to his proud proclamations, almost everyone now knew that the Sterling Family had an exceptionally intelligent young lady—Seraphina Sterling! She had skipped from her second to third year of high school and had even been admitted to Aethelgard University! Seraphina felt like a monkey in a zoo, having been gawked at by everyone for most of the day.
The auction was well underway when the empty seat next to Walter Sterling was finally filled. In fact, Seraphina knew both of the newcomers very well.
One was the old patriarch of the Hale Family, about the same age as Walter Sterling. The other was the very target of her lifelong quest for revenge—Justin Hale!
"Mr. Hale, you came out as well?" Walter Sterling said, a hint of surprise in his voice. "How rare. It seems you have your eye on something." Walter Sterling was genuinely surprised. If he himself rarely attended commercial events, this old Mr. Hale was even more of a recluse. He no longer lived at the Hale estate but in his own private courtyard, where he was said to be practicing Zen and Buddhism. He didn’t even show up for holidays!
He forbade the younger generation from disturbing him. Unless he emerged of his own volition, it was nearly impossible to get him to leave his home. To think he would actually attend today’s auction!
"I have my eye on a certain piece," Mr. Hale replied. "I’ve been searching for it for years without any leads, so I never expected it to appear at today’s auction! Does Mr. Sterling have a target as well?" Though elderly, Mr. Hale was full of vigor, his body still strong. It was hard to believe he was already over seventy.
"An old man like me has little interest in antiques, so why would I have a target? This is for my granddaughter. She got into Aethelgard University, the premier academy in all of Apex, and as her grandfather, I’m buying her a gift to celebrate! She’s calling the shots today! Whatever she fancies, this old man will bid on it for her! Hahaha!"
