Chapter 1345 - 1331: Flame Sect
The City Lord of the Great City has actually recovered...
Baiyu thought for a moment.
This was indeed a place he should go and take a look at. After all, it had been so long since they last met; he had no idea what the City Lord had become now, whether she was still the same as before.
And Lilith and Vivian as well.
These all counted as people he could trust.
"When are we setting off?"
Baiyu asked.
Alfred said in a deep voice, "Give me two days. When I get there, we’ll head out directly."
"Any other news?"
Baiyu asked.
What he actually wanted to ask was whether the Scar God had any other message to pass along this time.
But Alfred shook his head. "No. All information, we’ll talk about it when I arrive."
Baiyu nodded.
Very soon, the communication ended.
Bishop Yane smiled and said, "Looks like Bishop Geman and Lord Alfred really are close. If you get the chance, you must put in a good word for me."
"No problem, just a lift of the hand."
Baiyu replied.
He really could say a few nice things about Bishop Yane, but whether Alfred would listen to him or not was another matter.
The two days passed in a flash.
Inside the Church.
Alfred hurried over, looked at Baiyu, and said, "Let’s go. We have to rush to Red Flame Star. The Great City Lord’s subordinates are all heading toward Red Flame Star as well."
Baiyu nodded.
He asked, "How much do you actually know about the Furnace?"
"The Furnace, huh..."
Alfred said in a deep voice, "I don’t really know. I only know that It is a very powerful Divine Spirit. Even my Lord seems to have a certain degree of wariness toward It. As for the rest, I’m not very clear. It controls the Fire Law and possesses the Ability of change and Reconstruction.
The Furnace has unique craftsmanship; the Furnace is cruel and merciless."
Baiyu nodded, forming a certain impression of the Daytime Furnace in his mind. Reconstruction—so that’s how the Furnace managed to preserve the Great City Lord’s life?
After all, she had been besieged by several Evil Gods.
Baiyu couldn’t figure it out.
As a human, how had she managed to survive?
Maybe only by no longer being human could she have seized a sliver of hope.
"Let’s go."
Alfred brought out an extremely magnificent Starship, while Baiyu piloted the White Bone Boat, following behind Alfred.
How to put it.
As long as the White Bone Boat deliberately hid itself, even Alfred would have a hard time detecting it. The White Bone Boat could shrink in size; once it shrank, it was only a little bigger than a normal Starship and wouldn’t draw attention. As for how Baiyu had gotten hold of this Starship, Alfred was even less likely to ask.
And behind the White Bone Boat.
Erza followed closely.
Cang Yan and Nancy were inside Erza, piloting this Legendary Ship forward.
Erza’s size was simply too large.
The White Bone Boat couldn’t contain her. Otherwise, Baiyu would have directly put Erza inside the White Bone Boat.
But right now.
This was the only way.
The Starships advanced steadily and swiftly through the universe. They didn’t encounter any accidents along the way. After several interstellar teleportations—and since they were using the Scarred Church’s Teleportation Arrays, they didn’t spend any money at all.
This was the benefit of having an organization.
Even travel expenses could be reimbursed on the public account.
After a journey of roughly a month, a huge planet with a crimson surface appeared before the eyes of Baiyu and Alfred.
This was a half-developed planet.
It belonged to the Fire Sect.
It didn’t count as one of the six great Sects, but the Fire Sect still possessed a power in the Galaxy Imperial that could not be taken lightly. At any rate, at least no one was eyeing this Sect.
Baiyu took a deep breath.
Through interstellar communications, he asked Alfred, "Is this the place? Is there any civilization on that planet?"
"There is one. But it doesn’t really count as a ’civilization’; it’s mainly people of the Fire Sect."
Alfred said, "When we go down later, we’ll be dealing with them first. But they’re quite easy to talk to, as long as you don’t provoke them."
"What counts as provoking them?"
Baiyu asked.
"Naturally, it’s things like slandering their Divine Spirit. You must know, faith is their second life. Once you set foot on this planet, you have to praise the Furnace. Otherwise, these hot-tempered brothers might start swinging first."
Alfred’s face wore an expression like he was constipated.
"They’ll throw hands if you don’t praise It?"
"Yes. After all, we’re entering their territory, and the situation is weaker than people." Alfred took a deep breath and said helplessly.
Baiyu frowned and said, "Won’t your Scar God have a problem with that?"
"Even if He does, there’s nothing I can do. We have to complete the mission; we can’t just phone it in. With Scars above, He will definitely understand my actions."
Alfred murmured.
Baiyu nodded, feeling that this actually made quite a bit of sense. Besides, this guy could communicate directly with the Scar God, so this probably wasn’t a big issue.
Their Starships didn’t continue to approach.
Alfred took a paper crane out of his robes and blew on it. The paper crane instantly grew larger, directly turning into something like a huge airplane.
The two of them sat on it.
The paper crane flew all the way down and quickly reached the surface. A massive Church made of red stone rose from the crimson ground. Although the surroundings were desolate, the people coming and going here didn’t look like they were short on water at all. Each and every one of them looked very healthy.
Baiyu frowned.
All these people were extremely healthy, without the slightest sign of illness, their bodies full of vitality.
"People who have faith in the Furnace generally don’t have any diseases, and they’re not easily subject to aging. They’re in a healthy state all the time."
Alfred explained, "That’s why they look like this."
"Always full of vigor, never aging, no diseases, always maintaining a healthy body—this is way better than believing in Scars."
Baiyu sighed.
Just look at Alfred’s condition; as a believer of the Scar God, his whole body was covered in wounds.
Alfred laughed. "You’re thinking about it too simply. Have you forgotten what I said? The Furnace has unique craftsmanship; the Furnace is cruel and merciless.
After granting such conveniences to Its believers...
How could the Furnace not take something else away?
What you pay and what you gain are always balanced. Nothing is obtained for no reason."
Indeed.
When dealing with a Divine Spirit, one had to be extremely cautious. These believers had gained so much; naturally, what they lost couldn’t be too little.
There is no love or hate for no reason.
The two soon arrived outside the Church. A man in a loose red robe walked out barefoot. But half of this man’s body was mechanical, giving him the feel of some sort of future Warrior.
"Scarred Church, Alfred."
Alfred said slowly.
The other nodded and said in a deep voice, "Flame Sect, Guli Ming."
