Kael watched her, her chest rising and falling in rapid, shallow gasps.

A thick, messy mixture of his semen and her saliva trailed down the side of her chin.

He leaned in, planting a lingering, possessive kiss on her reddened, bruised cheek. “You look so lovely like this, Mom,” he murmured.

Amber offered a weak, shaky smile, but her heart was heavy with doubt.

A part of her was deeply unsettled by the way he had slapped her face, yet she couldn’t ignore the traitorous heat lingering in her blood.

She felt a sickening sense of shame coiling in her gut, but her body had barely put up a fight.

Have I actually started to enjoy this with Kael?

She wondered, her mind a tangled mess of confusion and arousal.

She knew she would have to face that question later, but for now, she simply felt too drained to move.

She collapsed onto the grass, letting the exhaustion take her as Kael stood up, dressed himself, and immediately moved into his cultivation stance.

An hour later, as the sun began to dip, Amber drifted back into consciousness.

Her mouth felt stiff and dry, the remnants of his seed and her own spit having crusted over her lips and chin.

She sat up, feeling the soreness in her body, and caught sight of Kael a few feet away, eyes closed and breathing rhythmically as he refined his mana.

She stood up quietly, walked over, and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to his cheek.

He didn’t break his trance, so she turned away and headed toward the house, needing to scrub the mess and the memories off her skin in the bathroom.

Kael wasn’t entirely collected either. He felt a stray drop of his own cum dried on his cheek, and he cringed, hurriedly wiping it away with his sleeve once he was sure Amber was out of sight.

The rest of the evening passed in a blur. He ate dinner with his mother, keeping to himself Afterwards as he reflected on the day’s intensity.

His mind wandered, and he found himself thinking about his future. If he kept obsessively training his mother, it might eventually break her.

He didn’t want that, he was very attached to her now after spending time with her, but if he wanted to keep her as his primary outlet, he needed to maintain a Control on his desires.

He realized he needed to diversify his options. His aunt came to mind, and he began drafting a plan to spend a few days with her, perhaps finding a way to bring her under his influence.

However, his grandmother’s request weighed on him.

Well, the aunt will have to wait a day, he decided.

With these thoughts, Kael finished his walk and retreated to his room.

He lay in bed, the quiet of the night pressing in on him, and began his cultivation practice.

As he focused his breathing, the words of the dragoness echoed in his mind, reminding him that now that he had been through the awakening, he might finally be able to tap into the true power of the stone hanging around his neck.

Kael gripped the stone tightly, channeling his mana into it with intense focus. At first, nothing happened.

He gritted his teeth, shifting the flow of his energy, cycling his mana in the exact, complex pattern the dragon had burned into his memory.

Suddenly, the stone responded. It began to pulse with a faint, rhythmic light, glowing brilliantly against the darkness of his bedroom.

The gem grew searing hot, and before Kael could even gasp, a violent jolt ripped through his nervous system. It felt like his soul had been kicked down a flight of stairs.

When he finally managed to peel his eyes open, he wasn’t in his bed. He wasn’t even in his house.

He stood in a vast, desolate expanse. The sky above was an impossible, crystalline blue—a sight of such profound beauty it made his chest ache.

Below him, the ground was a deep, scorched brown, completely barren and devoid of even a single blade of grass.

Yet, as he breathed, he caught the scent of the soil—it was strangely soothing, a clean, earthen aroma that calmed his racing heart despite the mounting panic.

Where the hell did that stone dump me?

His initial awe began to curdle into cold realization. He knew this had to be the work of the gem; people didn’t just wake up in entirely different dimensions while trying to sleep.

The serene beauty of the landscape started to feel like a cage. If he was trapped here, all this aesthetic perfection was worth absolutely nothing.

Panic flared in his gut. He couldn’t afford to be stranded.

Kael slammed his eyes shut, forcing his breathing to level out. He visualized the stone resting against his chest, just as it had been moments ago.

He mirrored the internal circulation of his mana, tracing the same pattern, focusing every ounce of his willpower on the connection between his energy and the gem.

He needed to force the portal open again—and he needed it to happen now, before he became a permanent resident of this dead, beautiful world.

The transition was rough, a violent tug that yanked him through the void before depositing him heavily onto the wooden floor of his bedroom.

Kael landed in a tangled heap, his limbs aching from the sudden shift in gravity.

He lay there for a moment, chest heaving, his heart hammering against his ribs. The silence of his room felt heavy after the strange, serene emptiness of that other world.

His curiosity was screaming to be satisfied—to dive back in and map that bizarre landscape—but his body felt like lead.

The drain from the cultivation and the cross-dimensional travel had left him completely spent.

He didn’t bother trying to get onto the bed. He fumbled with the chain, tucking the warm, pulsing gemstone safely beneath his shirt.

It wasn’t going anywhere, and he was too exhausted to wrestle with its secrets until he’d regained his strength.

He closed his eyes, the memory of that brilliant blue sky fading into the blackness of deep, dreamless sleep.

Tomorrow would be for unraveling the mysteries of the stone and dealing with whatever his grandmother wanted, but for now, the exhaustion claimed him entirely.
