Chapter 762: Chapter 759: The Urging Came So Suddenly

Her thoughtful and understanding words made Sienna Hale sigh. "Clara, what you just said... it makes me feel so ashamed. Honestly, aside from the whole issue with your background, I’ve always been very fond of you.

"You’re kind, understanding, beautiful, and poised. I liked you from the very first moment I saw you. Oh, by the way, our first meeting wasn’t actually when you came to the house for the first time. We’d met once before."

Clara Grant was a little confused. She couldn’t for the life of her recall meeting Sienna before she came to the Quinn home to meet the family.

Seeing Clara frown as she tried to remember, Sienna Hale smiled and continued, "But back then, I knew it was you, while you didn’t know who I was. Do you remember? There was a time you were coming back from the film set and went to the hospital to see Cherie. You ran into an old lady at the door of the hospital room."

Clara Grant thought for a moment, and then it came back to her. It wasn’t that her memory was particularly good, but that the old lady from that day had left a very deep impression on her.

They had only been strangers who met by chance, yet the woman had asked her age, whether she was married, and other personal questions. She’d even been able to tell at a glance that she and Seth Quinn were a married couple.

At the time, she had even wondered, ’Do Seth Quinn and I really look that much like a couple? So much so that even an old lady whose eyesight doesn’t seem very good could tell at a glance?’

Seeing that Clara seemed to have remembered, Sienna Hale smiled again and said, "That old lady was me. When Seth told us he had married you, I was very eager to meet you,

"But your marriage was a secret back then, and Seth wouldn’t let me see you, so I disguised myself as an old woman to meet you.

"I liked you the moment I saw you. I just had a really good feeling about you. It’s just... later, I..."

The more she spoke, the more Sienna Hale blamed herself. If she hadn’t been so obsessed with family background, she wouldn’t have been deceived by Jean Jarvis and Chloe Grant’s lies.

"Mom, don’t say another word. It’s all in the past now. Fortunately, we haven’t lost too much. We’re still a family, and that’s more than enough."

Sienna Hale wiped her teary eyes, then looked up and smiled. "Yes, yes, you’re right. Fortunately, we’re still a family."

After speaking, she looked as if she’d just remembered something. Her expression turned animated as she looked at Clara Grant. "Clara, dear, have you and Seth thought about when you’ll have a child? Let me tell you, it’s best for a woman to have children when she’s young. It’s easier. So, your age is absolutely perfect for having your first. ℴℴ𝘮

"Even though you haven’t graduated from college yet, you and Seth are already married, so having a baby is definitely something you can start planning for. If you get pregnant, you can just take a leave of absence! After the baby’s born, you can go right back to your studies. We’ll look after the child, so you don’t have to worry about a thing."

An awkward expression spread across Clara Grant’s face. ’Where did this sudden pressure to have a baby come from!’ She stammered, trying to deflect, "Uh, S-Seth said... he doesn’t want to have kids this soon..."

"He might say he doesn’t want one now, but as soon as you’re pregnant, I’m sure he’ll change his mind."

"...Is that so?" Clara Grant replied with a weak, forced smile, glancing up toward the stairs and desperately hoping Seth Quinn would come down and rescue her from the conversation.

"Of course! Men are all like that. Before they have kids, they always want to wait, but..." Sienna Hale rambled on, but Clara Grant barely heard a word. She just kept a polite smile fixed on her face, her eyes darting toward the stairs every few seconds.

"You two seem to be in high spirits. What are you talking about?" Theodore Quinn’s voice suddenly drifted down from the staircase. Clara Grant looked up and saw Theodore and Seth Quinn descending, one after the other. Her heart leaped with joy, and she quickly stood up, calling out, "Dad."
