A Night of Desire
Chapter 759 - 756: Finding the Real Benefactor
Chapter 759: Chapter 756: Finding the Real Benefactor
"Huh? Oh, I... I went out shopping this morning and just happened to run into him on the street." Clara Grant hastily came up with an excuse.
She was never a good liar, and this time was no exception. She lowered her gaze, her expression unnatural. If Seth Quinn had been paying close attention, he would have surely seen through her lie. But alas, his own mind was elsewhere, so how could he possibly notice if she was being deceitful?
Seeing Seth Quinn nod without asking any more questions, Clara Grant breathed a sigh of relief. ℴℴ𝘮
But then she was immediately plunged into conflict. ’It seems I can’t tell Seth about the pregnancy just yet,’ she thought. ’But if I decide to keep the baby, I won’t be able to hide it for long. If I don’t, I have to make a decision soon.’
’But the thought of not keeping it... I can’t bear it. After all, this is my first child. It’s only normal to feel this way.’
...
Lost in her thoughts, she didn’t notice as the car drove smoothly all the way home.
Just as they entered the Quinn Family’s main gate, a servant ran over to report that the Master and Madam wanted them in the living room of the main house.
Seth Quinn nodded and drove the car directly to the main house. After parking, he got out and escorted Clara Grant into the main hall.
As soon as they entered, they saw Theodore Quinn and Sienna Hale seated in the hosts’ chairs. In the guest seats were Skylar Hayes and Marcus Jarvis.
"Mom? Uncle Jarvis? What are you two doing here?" Clara Grant asked in confusion, quickly walking over to Skylar Hayes’s side.
Skylar Hayes took her hand, but before she could answer, Theodore Quinn, seated in the main chair, spoke up. "I invited Mr. Jarvis over. Your mother happened to be with him, so they came together."
Clara Grant and Seth Quinn immediately understood. He had found out that Marcus Jarvis was his real savior and had invited him over to thank him.
They just hadn’t expected him to act so quickly and summon the man so soon.
The two had just exchanged a glance when Theodore Quinn continued, "You must be curious why I invited Mr. Jarvis over, right?
"It’s because the person who saved me all those years ago wasn’t Cedric Grant. It was Mr. Jarvis. And we’ve just confirmed it—Mr. Jarvis is my true benefactor.
"After he saved me, he told Jean Jarvis about it. That’s why she knew the story so clearly, down to every last detail. It’s also why I didn’t see through their deception when they first told me Cedric Grant was my savior."
Seth Quinn said, "Congratulations, then, on finally finding your real benefactor."
Theodore Quinn looked at Seth Quinn, then at Clara Grant. Seth had always been stoic, so it was normal for him to react calmly to this news. But why was Clara’s reaction so placid as well?
He couldn’t help but be taken aback. "What’s wrong?" he asked. "Aren’t you surprised? Or even pleased?"
"Dad, we already know. We were there when Jean Jarvis called you," Clara Grant said to Theodore Quinn, glancing at Marcus Jarvis.
Theodore Quinn looked puzzled, and Marcus Jarvis couldn’t help but frown. When he heard Theodore say that Jean Jarvis had been the one to call and tell him the truth, he found it strange.
Jean Jarvis should have been trying everything in her power to keep the matter a secret. How could she possibly call to confess on her own?
A sudden worry seized him, and he quickly asked, "Clara, what exactly happened?"
So, Clara Grant told them everything. The moment her voice fell, two very tense voices rang out at the same time.
