Chapter 632: Chapter 629: Here to Laugh at Me?

With that, Seth Quinn walked out without a backward glance.

Chase Childs let go of Faye Jennings and hurried after him.

Behind them, Faye Jennings sank to the ground in despair and helplessness.

’Seth Quinn had never shown her a shred of pity. To him, she was truly just a tool for making money.’

’To think she had loved him for five whole years and given him her entire heart, only to be treated so heartlessly in return!’

...

Clara Grant really did go to the detention center to see Sandra.

In the visitation room, Clara Grant and Sandra sat facing each other across a long table.

Sandra glanced at Clara Grant and spoke coldly, "What are you doing here? Come to laugh at my misfortune? To see how pathetic and miserable I’ve become?"

When the police told her she had a visitor, she thought it was Faye Jennings or someone else. If she had known it was Clara Grant, she would not have come out to see her.

Clara Grant looked at her hard, cold face, but she just smiled before speaking. "Laugh at your misfortune? Heh, there’s no need for that, is there? I’m the esteemed Mrs. Quinn, wife of the eldest heir of the Quinn family, the wife of the president of Aegis Entertainment.

"And you, you’re just a prisoner. Would I really need to come all the way here just to laugh at you? That would be rather beneath me, don’t you think?"

"Hmph. You say you’re not here to laugh at me, so why parade all your fancy titles? Aren’t you just using your success to rub my failure in my face?"

Clara Grant frowned and stared at her for a moment before speaking. "Sandra, I truly don’t understand. Where do you get the nerve to treat me with such resentment?

"You’re the one who tried to harm me. You’re the one who got Seth Quinn shot and nearly killed. Do you feel no guilt whatsoever? At a time like this, seeing me again, shouldn’t you at least be repentant? Why are you still so brazenly self-righteous?"

Sandra looked like she wanted to say something, but she just bit her lip and remained silent.

Clara Grant let out a breath and continued to look at her. "I didn’t come here today to laugh at you or to show anything off. I just wanted some closure.

"Honestly, Sandra, besides that so-called ’role-stealing’ incident, we didn’t have any other grudges, did we? And I already explained to you that I had no control over the casting change. I don’t understand why you hate me so much. So much that you actually wanted me dead!

"Yes, as an actor, it’s devastating to be replaced in a role, but it’s not some deep-seated blood feud, is it? It’s not enough to make you want me dead, is it?"

At this, Clara Grant sighed. "Do you remember what I told you before... everything happened? I said that I’d taken a role from you, and I would make it up to you with an even better one in the future.

"Well, that show I mentioned is officially going into production now. But my promise to find a good role for you... that can’t be fulfilled anymore."

Sandra stared, stunned, as if in disbelief. "You... you still remembered that?"

"Of course I didn’t. In fact, the moment I heard the show was greenlit, the first thing I thought of was my promise to you." Clara Grant gave a helpless smile.

"Honestly, I think it’s such a shame. Because if you had just settled down, focused on honing your craft, and cleared your heart of so much resentment and bitterness, you might have found a role perfect for you. You might have even made it big."

"But there are no what-ifs. We never resolved our issues, and now you’ll never have the chance to get a good role. You’ll never have the chance to make it big!"
