Chapter 1574: Chapter 1064: Do You Prefer Boys or Girls?
Looking at how she seemed completely unconcerned, Jiang Jingheng’s throat went a little hoarse. "You really don’t mind?"
"Mind what? Mind that my husband is a pervert who’s been in love with me for eight years straight?" Mu Yan shot back. "Sure, what happened back then did scare me, but it only made me more alert. That counts as a good thing too. The past is the past. It’s good you’ve said it out loud, so it doesn’t stay stuck in your heart."
As if afraid he’d overthink it, she added, "Don’t get the wrong idea. I’m not this forgiving with everyone."
Jiang Jingheng raised his hand and stroked her face, his voice low. "I’m grateful fate let me meet you."
"You’re touched already?" Mu Yan smiled. "In a bit you’ll have something even more touching."
As she spoke, she took Jiang Jingheng’s hand and led him forward.
Jiang Jingheng let her pull him along, and the two of them walked into the pavilion in the sea of flowers.
Mu Yan suddenly took a small square box out of her pocket. She blinked at Jiang Jingheng, picked up the sunflower on the table, then dropped to one knee on the ground and opened the box. Inside was a men’s ring.
She looked at Jiang Jingheng and said, "Mr. Jiang, I’ve been preparing this ring for a long time, but I never found the right chance to use it. Thinking about it now, it’s like it was destined. This ring was meant for this moment.
I really regret not meeting you eight years ago, not getting to fall in love and truly know you earlier. But it’s okay. From now on, every single day I’ll be with you, through life and death, growing old together, never leaving, never giving up. I don’t dare promise I’ll love you more than you love me, but I will give you all the Love You I have. So, will you marry me?"
As she spoke, she extended the ring and the flower toward him.
Jiang Jingheng looked at her smiling face; at that moment, even the sunflower couldn’t compare to how bright and vivid she was.
He yanked her straight into his arms, holding her tight, kissed her hair, and said, "How could I not? And I don’t need all your Love You. It’s enough if you’re willing to stay by my side."
Even now, he was still humbling himself like this. It made Mu Yan’s heart ache for him even more.
"From now on it won’t just be me who Love You, the baby will Love You too. Our whole family will Love You." Mu Yan said with a smile, guiding his hand down onto her belly.
Maybe she’d been too happy about their reunion, so she hadn’t had time to bring up the baby yesterday.
Right now the baby was only two months along, her lower belly was still flat, with no change at all.
Jiang Jingheng’s gaze dropped to her abdomen, and he answered softly, "Mm."
Seeing his reaction so calm, she asked, "Did you already know I was pregnant?"
Jiang Jingheng gently caressed her lower belly. "I only suspected, because your period timing wasn’t right."
Mu Yan counted the days and asked, "Don’t tell me that’s the reason you wouldn’t let me play the female lead in the movie?"
And at that time they were sharing a bed. Clearly he wanted her very much, yet he kept holding back. Now she finally knew why.
"You can’t work too hard when you’re pregnant," Jiang Jingheng said.
"And you still ran away from home." Mu Yan glared at him. "Do you not want me and the baby?"
"No." Jiang Jingheng denied it.
Mu Yan was displeased. "So you were just waiting for me to come find you?"
Jiang Jingheng looked at her and said nothing.
But Mu Yan understood what he meant. Him running away didn’t mean he was giving her up; he just wanted time to smooth everything over.
If time couldn’t smooth it over, he would come back forcefully and use every possible way to keep her by his side forever.
To outsiders, someone this obsessive would seem terrifying, but she didn’t see any problem with it, because she was never going to leave him. All of that was just a hypothetical.
She suddenly changed the subject and asked, "Hubby, do you like boys or girls?"
Jiang Jingheng’s expression cooled a little. "Either is fine."
Mu Yan, "..."
What’s that supposed to mean? Isn’t he supposed to say ’both are good’ at a time like this?
