Chapter 1573: Chapter 1063: Confession!

Mu Yan felt a bit down as she realized she’d dug herself a pit to jump into.

But she thought it was rather interesting to have a bit of marital banter like this. Besides, Jiang Jingheng’s survival instincts were really strong.

The two of them walked to the edge of the sunflower field. A security guard saw them but didn’t come over to stop them.

There was a stone path laid out through the flower field, leading straight to the pavilion in the center.

The stone path was just wide enough for two people to walk side by side, as if it had been deliberately designed that way.

Mu Yan felt a stirring in her heart and looked at the man beside her, "Did you buy this place and pave this path thinking one day we’d come here together?"

Jiang Jingheng looked ahead, his gaze distant as if he was contemplating something.

After a moment, he said, "I don’t really remember. Back then, it was like I’d lost my soul, and the only voice in my head was telling me to find you. I even did some crazy things. It was around that time I bought this place. Later, I had to go abroad because of family reasons, so I left it to others to manage, but I would come here once a year, though I never ran into you."

Mu Yan was silent. At that time, she had already given up painting and naturally wouldn’t come here anymore.

Suddenly, she looked at him and said seriously, "Then let’s come here every year from now on."

"If you like it, we’ll come," Jiang Jingheng’s expression softened visibly.

He suddenly thought of something and his expression turned serious, "There’s something I want to confess."

"Hmm?" Mu Yan looked at him.

"Forget it, I won’t say it." Jiang Jingheng suddenly changed his mind.

Mu Yan rarely saw him so hesitant, and she frowned, "What’s something you can’t tell me? Did you do something to betray me, hold some girl’s hand, or do something worse?"

"No!" Jiang Jingheng said helplessly, "Don’t overthink."

"Then why are you hiding it? Just say it."

Jiang Jingheng was silent for a moment, then said, "Did you ever encounter a stalker before, which left you with trauma, making you sensitive to your surroundings?"

Mu Yan nodded, "Yeah, when I was in my teens, a pervert stalked me, and he grabbed me and tried to kiss me. Fortunately, I kicked him where it counts and escaped, or else the consequences would have been unimaginable."

She looked at him in confusion, "How do you know about this?"

She remembered she had only told Song Cheng’an. Could he have told him?

No, there must be some other reason he brought this up suddenly. Recalling his earlier words, a lightbulb went off in Mu Yan’s head, and she exclaimed, "Could it be you were..."

"Yes, I was that pervert," Jiang Jingheng said softly, "I finally found you and followed you for a few days. Just seeing you made me happy. But then my family said they were sending me abroad, and I knew that with this trip, it would be hard to see you again. I lost control then, I’m sorry."

Mu Yan stared at him blankly. Although she had guessed it, she was still surprised when she learned the truth.

Jiang Jingheng looked at her and said softly, "Now you know I’m not a normal person. If you regret being with me..."

He didn’t finish his sentence and seemed to be experiencing inner torment.

Mu Yan came back to her senses and seeing his restrained look, she found it amusing, "What about you? Let me go?"

Jiang Jingheng’s expression suddenly tensed up, and he held Mu Yan’s hand tighter, almost crushing it.

She looked at him and said helplessly, "Since you know you can’t let go, don’t say such magnanimous words."

Suddenly, she put on a stern face and said, "Besides, what kind of fulfillment is that? Are you trying to make me end up husbandless?"
