Chapter 413: Chapter 412 - Battle in the Middle of the Sea.

Watching the boat being split in half by a gigantic creature, Lili screamed.

"What the hell is that!? What is that thing!?"

She was terrified.

Then the two of them began falling toward the water.

Seeing them falling, the monster leaped out of the sea and opened its mouth to swallow them whole. Luan finally got a clear look at the monster he was facing.

It was a massive creature covered in blue scales from head to tail.

’It’s beautiful,’ Luan thought as he looked at the monster.

Then, with a smile, he teleported himself and Lili back into the sky, far away from the serpent’s jaws. Frustrated, the serpent plunged back into the water.

The moment it hit the sea, several objects shot toward Luan and Lili. They were spheres of water carrying tremendous destructive power. Luan dodged every single attack by repeatedly teleporting through the sky.

Lili started feeling dizzy.

"If you keep doing this, I’m going to throw up!"

"Oh, sorry about that."

Luan chuckled before teleporting himself and Lili back to the harbor.

As soon as they appeared there, everyone nearby was startled.

"Hey, did you see that? They just appeared out of nowhere!"

"Are they ghosts or something?"

"I’m not imagining things, am I? I’m sure they weren’t there a second ago!"

Luan ignored the people around him and disappeared once again.

Watching him vanish only made everyone even more restless. They started bombarding Lili with questions, but she ignored every single one of them.

She stared anxiously out at the sea.

Even from the harbor, she could still see Luan in the distance, high in the sky.

He was far away. Fortunately, she had excellent eyesight and could see everything clearly.

Luan hovered in the air, and once again the enormous serpent burst out of the sea.

Only then did the people at the harbor finally catch sight of it.

"Hey, look over there! Isn’t that some kind of sea monster!? Why is it jumping out of the water?" asked someone whose eyesight wasn’t very good.

"Can’t you see someone flying over there? Look!"

"He’s right! There’s someone fighting that thing! How did he get out there without a boat?"

"Isn’t that the guy who disappeared? He must’ve gotten there using some kind of skill!"

"You’re right! It has to be him!"

Then, all of a sudden, black flames appeared in the sky, engulfing the serpent.

Every part of its body that was above the water was consumed by black flames, which rapidly burned through its flesh.

Writhing in agony, the serpent let out a sound Luan never expected to come from its mouth.

A deafening roar.

It was so loud that it made even his ears ache.

Everyone in Melen heard it.

As soon as it splashed back into the sea, the serpent began swimming frantically, desperately trying to extinguish the flames.

But to its despair, after the Hellfire skill had leveled up several times, the flames had become astonishingly resistant to water.

Even so, they weren’t completely immune to it.

By the time the flames were finally extinguished, nearly the serpent’s entire body had been severely burned.

Most of its scales had been destroyed, and the flesh beneath them had turned black.

The saltwater made swimming unbearably painful, but the serpent kept going, desperate to escape.

Luan had no intention of letting that happen.

He pulled the Black Dragon Sword from his inventory and teleported underwater.

He drove his sword into the serpent’s body as it swam at high speed.

The blade carved a massive gash through its flesh, and the surrounding seawater quickly turned a strange shade of green.

Its internal organs began spilling out of the wound, but it still wasn’t dead.

The serpent immediately tried to bite Luan, but he teleported out of the water.

A moment later, he teleported back beneath the surface.

This time, he thrust both hands into the wound he had created and activated his "Rot" skill, which began rotting the serpent from the inside out.

The pain was so overwhelming that the serpent no longer knew what to do.

It began thrashing wildly.

It had already given up fighting.

The serpent wasn’t an intelligent monster.

If it had been, it would’ve been desperately begging for death.

Its suffering lasted for several long minutes.

Luan simply floated on the sea, watching as the serpent gradually stopped moving.

Its body didn’t disappear.

Instead, it floated on the surface of the ocean.

Luan then teleported back to the harbor.

Without saying a word, he picked Lili up in his arms before teleporting with her onto the serpent’s floating corpse.

Lili looked down and saw that the serpent’s body had been burned raw.

On top of that, it smelled absolutely horrible.

"Ugh! That’s disgusting! Get me out of here!"

Lili felt like she was about to throw up.

Luan then teleported back to the harbor with Lili, and people immediately started gathering around them.

They bombarded him with questions until someone finally recognized him.

"Hey, isn’t that Luan? A member of the Hestia Familia. He’s that famous author. My brother, who lives in Orario, told me about him!"

As soon as everyone heard that, a commotion broke out.

Luan had completely forgotten that his fame wasn’t limited to Orario.

He was well known in many other cities as well.

Luan gave a bitter smile before teleporting himself and Lili onto the roof of a nearby building.

"I guess we didn’t really get to enjoy ourselves in the end," he said.

Hearing that, Lili laughed.

"Hahaha, well, at least it was fun."

"Still want to go fishing?"

"Hm? No. I’m never going out into the middle of the sea again."

Luan couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.
