A God Killed Me By Accident, But I Reincarnated As The 4th Son Of The Marquis
Volume 16 Chapter 44: Wedding
The day of the wedding
“Guests, please bring out your wedding invitation cards for us to see.” Several knights stood in front of the gates of the manor. Some guests nodded as they brought out their cards, and the knights allowed them to enter. When someone didn’t have their cards,
“We’re friends of the groom.”
The knight scoffed, “Only those with cards can enter.” It was mandatory since they were having the wedding in the Marquis’ home. Plus, they didn’t want any unruly people to enter; it was a small wedding with plenty of high-profile people.
“The wedding is proceeding accordingly.” Keith grinned as he held May’s and Carolyn’s arms.
“I cannot believe there are people shameless enough to say they are Michael’s friends.” Carolyn shook her head. It was clear they only wanted to be inside to build connections.
“Let’s head to the venue.” The knights had protection detail covered. As they headed for the venue, their eyes gazed upon giant marble columns.
“Everyone, please take your seats. The bride and groom shall arrive in a few minutes.” Derek called out; he and Eric were assisting the guests to their seats. However,
“Can you please help me find my seat, Young Master Derek?” One woman asked.
“No, please help me.” Another woman chimed in.
“Sorry, but I need to help others.” Derek tried to wave them off, but that was not happening in the slightest. The two women were eyeing Derek . Marrying into the Marquis family was a dream.
Unlike most nobles, the Marquis family was known to not care about nobility status.
“They’re going to have a hard time.” Glancing to the side, Sophia grinned ear to ear at the sight: she was analyzing everything going on. This will end in Derek’s misery. Keith could tell the more Derek struggled, the more Sophia would push.
“Keith,”
“Brother, Hazel,” Keith turned to see Alvin and Hazel approaching his group. Both of them were dressed up. Keith praised, “The two of you look good together.”
“...” Hazel blushed as she looked down.
“Thank you,” Alvin smiled, “Today is nice; it’s perfect for a wedding.”
“Indeed.”
“Maybe we should have multiple weddings.” Alvin then glanced over at Eric and Derek with a mischievous smile. But his words made Hazel’s cheeks redder!
“Brother, please don’t say these types of comments; Mother would take it seriously.”
“I know, I know. Today is Michael and Sarah’s special day. I’ll joke with the two later about this.”
“Young Master, can you come to the groom’s room?” The butler came over.
“Hmm?” Keith nodded and headed over. Entering, he saw Cadmus and the others inside. They all had wry smiles as they stared at Michael: he was dressed in a tuxedo, but he was stiff as a statue!
“What’s the matter with you?”
“I’m stressed.”
“You? Stressed?” Keith scoffed, “Why are you feeling stressed?”
“Because it’s my wedding!” Michael roared as he shook Keith around, but that only caused the child to scoff at him further, “Why are you even stressed out? Sarah loves you, so what are you afraid of?”
“...” True. Michael’s anxious expression slowly died down after listening to his words.
“Now act properly and get ready. We don’t want Sarah to divorce you a minute after you get married.”
“...” Michael’s expression turned pitch black.
Keith laughed as he walked out with William, “Father should have done something about this.”
“Your words are better than mine. He’s quite receptive to you.” William smiled. Out of all the people, Michael listened to him the most. If he needed to calm down, Keith’s words would be needed.
“Ahaha, then I’ll go sit in the seat,” Keith said, walking back and sitting between May and Carolyn.
“Better?”
“Mmhmm,” Keith nodded. A moment later, Michael entered the venue and stood at the podium: he was prim and proper, but they noticed his awkwardness at the moment.
“Entering, the bride.” The announcer spoke. Slowly, Sarah came forward. As she walked, she shimmered. She wore a beautiful white silk dress. As she arrived at the podium, Michael’s jaw dropped as he stared at her without speaking. William had to nudge him to signal him to calm down. He closed his mouth as Sarah smiled behind her veil, as both turned to the priest.
“Do you two solemnly swear to be together for the rest of your lives?”
“Yes.”
“Y-yes!” Michael’s cheeks turned red as he shouted.
Keith shook his head, “What a fool.” Did Sarah’s appearance really surprise you that much? Carolyn chuckled, “It’s fine. I bet you’ll be like this.”
“Really?” Keith blinked.
“Mmhmm.” May nodded.
“Now you two may kiss.” Sarah didn’t hesitate to pull Michael forward and kiss her.
“Now let’s eat!” The moment that was said, everyone was led to the tables where the course was set out. Before each guest, beautiful dishes were served; one by one, as each one was finished, another was brought out.
It was a festive atmosphere while the newlywed couple held hands.
