A God Killed Me By Accident, But I Reincarnated As The 4th Son Of The Marquis
Volume 16 Chapter 43: Michael’s Bachelor Party
A few days later, Keith sat before Michael and Sarah once more.
“Are you two alright?” Unlike the last time they spoke, he noticed an oddity in their expression: fatigue was draped around their eyes. Sure, Sarah having those was normal since she was running a restaurant. But it was abnormal for Michael, since that man had superior stamina.
“I can’t believe having a wedding would be this tiresome.” Michael groaned as he rubbed.
Sarah grumbled, “Yes. When I had my first wedding, it wasn’t like this before.” The first marriage was inviting people, setting up the venue, and that was it. But there were more steps involved with this.
Keith stroked his chin, “That’s probably because Michael is a noble; there will be more steps to his wedding since he also has ties to my father as well.” Michael was nobility. He was a noble in name without land, but he was still a noble. With him being tied to William, it made him well-known as well.
For him to get married would be quite eye-catching.
“Thank you for your work, Wife.” Michael held Sarah’s hand; she did all the heavy lifting in this situation. He didn’t need to do anything with his noble title: Sarah, being an experienced owner, knew how to react and respond.
“That’s what marriage should be.” Supporting one another. It didn’t matter whether one side was weaker; the other would support and pull them up, and vice versa.
“Please try the food I’ve prepared for your wedding.” Keith turned to a maid, and they rolled a cart out.
“My! How beautiful!” Sarah’s eyes sparkled in amazement at the dishes.
“I went with all the criteria you requested. I tried not to make it as grand as possible, but also kept it elegant.”
“Young master, thank you so much.” A sense of happiness caused Sarah’s eyes to tremble; she was grateful for the dishes.
Michael was silent, but the drooling from his lips said it all. Keith smiled, “Please taste them. If there’s anything you want me to change, I’ll alter it. Please taste the entrée first; it’s a mushroom cap with minced pork, tomatoes, and shallots with bacon bits on top. You can pick it up with your hands or use your knife.” Sarah used a knife to cut the mushroom in half while Michael ate it whole.
“Young master, you must teach me how to make these dishes.” Sarah savored the mushroom cap: the mushroom was soft and chewy, the meat gently mixed with the mushroom, with the acidity from the tomatoes and shallots. The bacon gave it a crisp.
“I can teach you later. Please try the next dish; it’s a beef bone soup: inside are beef chunks, carrots, potatoes, and corn.” Keith ladled the soup into each bowl. Michael gulped it down while Sarah took small sips.
“Tastes good.”
“Sarah?” Keith ignored Michael, who ate everything, and turned to Sarah.
Sarah gave a wry smile, “This is a little too heavy.”
“Got it. I’ll change it into a pork broth and take out the potatoes.” Keith wrote some notes down. One by one, the dishes were brought out, and Sarah would give her critique. Before long, they were finished.
“I feel like it’s too little,” Michael grumbled.
“For you.” Keith rolled his eyes, “I don’t think your guests will have the same appetite.”
“...”
“Sarah,” May then walked over, “The dress is finished; please visit Francis’s store for minor adjustments.”
“Okay!” Sarah kissed Michael on the cheek, “I have to go, love.”
“Mmhmm.”
“Awwwwwww.” “Kid, you’re asking to be smacked!” Michael’s hand was itching to smack him on the back of the head.
“To think you have become this sensible.” Keith then thought about it, “Wait a moment, did you buy a ring yet?” A wedding ring was a must in this situation.
“Of course, I have gotten a ring. And I have to tell you it’s an amazing one.”
“I’ll have to see it to believe it.” Keith rolled his eyes, but a smirk formed. “Make sure to treat Sarah right.”
“You’re talking like you’re her father.”
“Shut it. I get the feeling you might bankrupt her if you do!” Michael would eat down her restaurant.
“Hah?! There’s no way my dear will go bankrupt! I’ll be there to support her as well.”
“True.”
“I have a bachelor party to attend!” Michael got up as he walked away from him. Keith could only sigh while he stretched his hand in the air, “I need to get more prepared.” There were still a lot of things that I needed to do.
Michael and William headed out to a bar that night. Inside, there were people already waiting for him. Cadmus laughed as he raised his glass, “Michael, my friend! You’re finally getting married! Congratulations!”
“Welcome to the husband circle!” Julius followed suit. The two wrapped their arms around his shoulders.
“Drink, drink, drink!” They didn’t even hesitate as they placed the bear mugs in front of him.
Michael laughed as he chugged them down, “Thank you all for coming to my party!”
“…” William shook his head. Who would have thought they would be such great friends? Who would have thought they would be such great friends? Kindred and glutinous souls who were after Keith’s cooking: the three were so similar to one another that it caused quite a problem in the Freed estate. Well, Keith was the one who suffered the most. He sat down and ordered himself a glass of wine.
“Let’s drink the night away!”
“Today is your day!” The three roared as they drank once again!
“What are you doing on the side?” Julius grabbed William, “You have to drink as well!” Like that, the party started! It did not take long before everyone got drunk; on the side were empty barrels. That was how much they had drunk. William wobbled, having a semblance of reason as he stared at the side. It made him shiver. How were they not knocked out by drinking?
“Cadmus, my drinking buddy, I have some gripes with you!” Michael hiccupped. With a red face, he was prepared to explode.
Cadmus tilted his head, “What do you mean? When have I done to offend you?”
“How could you hog all of Keith’s cooking to yourself?” Michael pointed at his friend as if he had done something quite wrong.
“Yeah! This is all your fault!” Julius added.
Cadmus looked aggrieved, “How am I supposed to know that Keith would make so many delicious dishes?”
“...”
“Alright, I can’t use this excuse.” Knowing his personality, it was going to happen. But then, he looked at them, “You know, how about we make a union?”
“Union?”
“Whenever Keith makes something so delicious, we’ll let the other people know. That way, none of us gets left out!”
“That would be amazing!” Julius and Michael nodded.
William’s eyes knitted. Son, be careful going forward.
Over at the manor, “Achoo!”
“Boss, did you catch a cold?”
“No,” Keith shook his head. “Who is talking about me at this moment?”
“Probably Michael.” There was only one person who would dare talk about Keith. Keith sighed, “Yeah, it had to be him talking about me.”
