Chapter 217: Puppet (3)
Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Puppet (3)
Inside the Divine Brick,
Li Feng stood dumbfounded, blinking as he took in his surroundings.
The world around him had completely changed then what he had remember the last time he was here.
Instead of the usual wasteland, with the ground dry and cracked with spare tree.
But now….
Towering trees stretched endlessly, their leaves whispering softly in the wind.
Sunlight streamed through the canopy, casting shadow on the mossy ground.
A faint, sweet scent of blooming flowers also lingered in the air.
“This… where am I? ” he muttered under his breath, scanning the forest.
Feeling the pure spiritual qi no worse than the one inside the secret realm, Li Feng couldn’t help but sigh.
“With this, even if I’m not a sect disciple, I could still cultivate here with such an abundance of spiritual qi.”
Of course, that was only a fleeting thought.
He had no intention of leaving the sect.
After all…there were still so many beauties he hadn’t tasted yet.
Not just the young disciples.
Even the sect elders, those mature women…their elegance, their aloof demeanor… Li Feng’s mind couldn’t help but wander.
A sly grin tugged at the corner of his lips as he imagined indulging in a body refined by a higher realm.
He then walked slowly through the forest, in no particular hurry as his gaze sweeping around him.
He noticed every leaf, every branch seemed infused with spiritual energy, vibrating softly under his perception.
After walking for a while, he finally noticed something was off…
There were no animals.
Not even a single insect.
“Well, that was to be expected. If Little Ling could already create life forms so quickly, that would be far too terrifying.”
Li Feng smiled, knowing it was probably Little Ling, the Divine Vitalis Soul Tree responsible for all of this.
He couldn’t help but feel a growing sense of anticipation for her future.
After some time, he came upon a clearing, and his eyes widened at the sight before him.
There, at the center, stood a familiar tree….one that seemed to have undergone another growth spurt, becoming unimaginably huge.
Its trunk was impossibly thick, wider than fifty men standing shoulder to shoulder.
Shimmering golden leaves spread outward, bathing the entire area in a soft, pale-gold glow and creating a peaceful, almost surreal scene.
Along its rough, massive trunk…
..thin streaks of radiant gold ran through the bark like living veins, pulsing faintly with power which is a clear sign that the tree was alive and thriving.
And high among the branches, Li Feng spotted many apple-shaped fruit hanging in the air.
The fruit glowed faintly with a golden light, as if a soul were being nurtured within it.
“Hmm? ”
He saw something flying around the tree….it looked like a bud of light as it circled the Divine Tree.
Not just one light but many, as it create a rather beautiful scene.
Crack…
Crack…
Crack…
Just then, several branches slowly pushed out of the ground beneath him.
Little Ling had noticed his presence and was now greeting her master as the branches waving around as if she were an excited little child.
Li Feng smiled at the sight.
For some reason, he felt an unexpected sense of peace within this natural, paradise-like space.
“It seems you’ve grown quite a lot.”
Little Ling’s branches waved up and down in response.
Li Feng then slowly walked toward the massive tree and soon arrived beneath it, unable to stop his mouth from opening in amazement at its sheer size up close.
Looking at the trunk in front of him, he estimated that even fifty of him wouldn’t be able to wrap their arms around it.
He reached out and touched the rough bark and immediately feeling the vitality flowing through it.
Not just the tree itself…it seemed to spread its vitality to everything around it.
“…If there really were a World Tree like the ones spoken of in my previous world, then this undoubtedly looks like one.”
He murmured as he lifted his gaze, staring up at the sky completely covered by beautiful golden leaves..
Little Ling seemed quite proud of his praise, even though she didn’t seem to understand it, as the leaves rustled and the branches trembled slightly.
Li Feng smiled.
Rustle
Rustle
Just then, a cluster of lights drifted down from the leaves above and descended toward him.
Soon, Li Feng found himself surrounded by countless floating specks of light.
“Oh?”
Li Feng looked at the scene with interest.
Through the Divine Bond skill with Little Ling, he immediately understood what they were…
….newly nurtured souls.
At this moment, they felt like newborns, curious about everything as they hovered around him.
Some slipped into his hair, while others examined his robe with innocent fascination.
Not wanting to scare them away or harm them, Li Feng remained still, carefully restraining his strength.
He knew how fragile these newly born nurtured souls were, as they only barely able to exist under Little Ling’s range right now.
Now bathed in golden light,
Li Feng couldn’t help but smile wryly as he tried to be gentle, as an inexplicable feeling of being like a father rising in his heart.
Just then, a branch gently sprouted beneath his feet.
Li Feng noticed that Little Ling seemed to want to take him somewhere, so he did not resist.
Soon, the branch slowly rose higher and higher, carrying him toward the uppermost part of the tree.
As the branch lifted him to its peak, Li Feng’s eyes widened.
He was quite surprised to discover a spacious area at the top.
The uppermost branches of the Divine Tree opened into a surprisingly vast space, far larger than he had expected.
Golden leaves formed a natural canopy, filtering the sunlight into soft, warm patterns that danced across the ground.
The air here was rich with spiritual qi and far denser than in the lower areas and the entire space felt like a sanctuary suspended between heaven and earth.
Li Feng took a deep breath and couldn’t help but smile as the gentle breeze rustled the leaves, while the faint hum of Little Ling’s vitality filled the area with a deep sense of calm and peace.
Li Feng’s gaze swept across the clearing and soon landed on a familiar figure clad in a black cloak.
It was Goldie, now surrounded by several golden lights, as it sitting quietly on the branch-covered ground littered with fallen golden leaves.
Beside Goldie, several books were neatly piled in an orderly stack.
Sensing Li Feng’s presence, Goldie lowered the book in its hand and slowly looked up.
The golden lights surrounding its body scattered slightly, drifting away from the sudden movement.
“Seems like you’re really enjoying yourself,” Li Feng said with a smile as he stepped off the branch and walked toward Goldie.
“…”
Even though Goldie didn’t say a word, Li Feng could tell that it seemed quite satisfied.
Glancing around the spacious and pleasant area, Li Feng couldn’t help but entertain the thought of building a simple house here.
He then walked toward the edge as his eyes brightening up.
Taking in the breathtaking view from such a height…
The peaceful and soothing air, and the pure, dense spiritual qi, Li Feng smiled in satisfaction.
This was the perfect place to create a comfortable home…a spot where he could truly relax.
Then, his smile slowly turned lewd as his hand made a grasping motion in the air.
“Hehe… plus, if there were a few beauties to accompany me here, this would be paradise.”
Goldie, now standing beside him, didn’t seem to react much to Li Feng’s daydreaming expression.
It was as if it had already grown used to its master being like this.
Li Feng smiled as he continued looking at the scenery for a while before letting out a soft sigh.
He knew that this wasn’t the time for sightseeing.
Then he asked Little Ling as he looked down.
“Little Ling, can you spare me some of your branches?”
Li Feng could feel Little Ling questioning his intention, but she still agreed soon after.
Crack.
Crack.
Crack.
Thick branches, almost like logs, piled up nearby.
Li Feng walked over and carefully examined them
[Ding!]
[Material: Divine Vitalis Soul Tree – Branch]
[Grade: Rank 5]
[Remark: A branch taken from the Divine Vitalis Soul Tree. Rich in life and soul energy, it possesses exceptional spirit conductivity and natural compatibility with souls. Highly suitable for puppets, soul vessels, and life-based constructs.]
Seeing the description, Li Feng smiled with satisfaction.
He knew that as a divine tree that nurtured souls, Little Ling’s body was naturally special, capable of containing and supporting nurtured souls within her.
That’s right, he planned to use Little Ling’s branches as the main material for the puppet.
Not only was it an even better spirit-conducting wood, it might also gain some extra abilities.
And as for the core…
“Little Ling, I plan to create a puppet using your wood, and I plan to use nurtured souls as the core.”
He explained the details to Little Ling.
Soon, Little Ling seemed to understand her master’s intention and didn’t seem to mind.
She even seemed a bit glad as she always had this instinct to nurture souls and wanted them to become new life forms and roam freely.
…Just like a mother wanting her children to experience many new things.
Li Feng sensed her agreement and asked,
“So, do you have any suitable souls?”
He knew some souls might be too weak to start their own life.
But he also knew Little Ling must have prepared and nurtured some special ones during their time apart.
And just as he expected—
Little Ling excitedly called out to her children.
Whoosh.
Whoosh.
Trails of brilliant golden light flew out from somewhere.
Soon, Li Feng found ten souls floating in front of him.
“Oh?”
Li Feng gave them an interested look as he noticed these souls were much stronger than the others he had seen so far.
Their golden light was bigger and brighter, and he could even sense a trace of intelligence.
Little Ling seemed quite proud through their connection.
If she had a physical form, she would probably be puffing out her chest with her head tilted high.
Li Feng wasn’t stingy with his praise and smiled.
“Thanks. As expected of Little Ling ! You’re amazing to have nurtured so many powerful souls already.”
After giving a few more praises, Li Feng stretched his arms and rolled his shoulders.
“Well then… time to get to work.”
