A Blind Swordsman's Sword Coffin
Chapter 1031 - Meeting Ye Feng Again, Only to Cross Blades
Li Guanqi’s ringing declaration seemed directed at everyone hiding in the shadows. When he finished, he seized Zhao Pei’s corpse and pinned it in place outside the Daxia Sword Sect’s gates. Bang!
Bang!
The battle’s outcome was already decided. The Daxia Sword Sect’s disciples swept through the demonic cultivators, while many elders and peak masters left the fighting, stepping in only to rescue disciples in danger.
Wu Bing even ordered those who still had strength to spare to bite into Spirit-Boosting Pills. He wanted them to experience the pills’ power and side effects firsthand, to remember the feeling and know their own limits when they faced powerful enemies in the future.
As for Li Guanqi, he stood quietly in midair. His mere presence was an immense source of encouragement for the disciples of the Daxia Sword Sect.
Slowly, the barrier sealing in the demonic qi cracked and gave way. Beyond it, the moon shone in a star-scattered sky, and Li Guanqi finally sighed in relief.
Ling Daoyan and Qin Xian came to his side. Concerned, Qin Xian asked, “Are you all right?”
Li Guanqi shook his head slightly. “Not exactly, but I’ll be fine. Old Qin, is Duantai Yiting’s corpse still here?”
Ling Daoyan frowned and answered, “It is, but you burned it black. There’s hardly anything left to make out.”
Li Guanqi narrowed his eyes and glanced at Yu Hua, who was trapped in Xi Yunhuai’s array. “I’ll examine Duantai Yiting’s corpse first. Please keep an eye on things here, both of you.”
He nodded to Nangong Qianyan, Tu Zhongqiu, and Gong Ze as a strange thought crossed his mind. In a flash, he arrived at the Daxia Sword Sect’s Demon-Suppression Abyss.
As he pulled Duantai Yiting’s corpse into his grasp, he released a tremendous force. A crystal saturated with demonic qi immediately emerged from the center of Duantai Yiting’s forehead. It was diamond-shaped, only slightly larger than a fingernail, and as black as a pool of ink.
Li Guanqi held the demonic crystal between his fingers, his gaze icy. Such a tiny object could propel a person’s strength forward by leaps and bounds.
Suddenly, screams rang out one after another in Li Guanqi’s ears. A terrifying pressure descended upon the world.
A tall, slender man slowly stepped out of a rift in the void. He wore black robes embroidered with gold thread, and his handsome face held a sinister allure. A beautiful woman in a black dress followed him. Next came someone Li Guanqi had longed to see for far too long.
The young man’s long hair was grayish white. His left sleeve hung empty, and his right hand was hidden beneath his black robe. His bangs obscured most of his face as he stood with his head lowered behind the man.
Everyone froze. Qin Xian’s voice trembled. “Ye Feng?”
Boom!
Ling Daoyan had already taken his place behind a Divine Slaying Crossbow. His robes burst apart above the waist, exposing his lean, muscular torso. Blood sprayed from his arms as he hauled back the string with both hands, his bloodshot eyes wide with fury. A bolt as thick as an arm, covered in mysterious golden patterns, hurtled forward.
“Sha!”
His appearance had changed, but Ling Daoyan was certain. That sinister man was Sha. Ling Daoyan roared and reached for the string of a second Divine Slaying Crossbow, though his body could no longer bear the strain. The flesh on his arms tore, yet he still tried to pull back the bowstring.
Just then, several hands reached out and gripped the string. Wu Bing, Qin Xian, Gong Ze, Nangong Qianyan, and Tu Zhongqiu had come to help. Together, they hauled the bowstrings back.
Bang! Bang!
Two massive bolts shot forward almost one after the other.
A mocking smile touched Lu Tian’s face. He extended a long, slender finger and tapped the tip of the approaching bolts.
Boom!
Boundless black demonic qi swallowed the spear-like bolts. The Divine Slaying Crossbows, which had once struck fear into countless powerful cultivators, seemed laughable before him.
Li Guanqi beckoned, drawing the six spirit swords floating behind Wu Bing into his grasp.
Boom!
He seized the Heavenly Metal Peak’s spirit treasure sword, his face twisted with fury, and shot straight toward Sha.
A faint, amused smile lingered on Lu Tian’s lips. His sharp gaze swept across the void as wisps of ghostly green flames began to emerge.
“Heh. That was quick...”
Sha seemed utterly unconcerned. Li Guanqi’s killing intent surged, and cracks spread across the sword in his hand. Under the strain of that violent power, he swallowed another Spirit-Boosting Pill and a Frenzied Comprehension Pill.
Boom!
His aura soared to the level of a half-step Mahayana Realm cultivator.
“Die! Heaven-Opening! Sword-Unsheathing Technique, Dark Moon!”
Boom!
The heavens and earth changed color as violent gales rose and lightning erupted across the sky. Countless bolts descended as though the Great Dao itself had been enraged and was raining down endless heavenly punishment.
Li Guanqi drove the Divine Punishment Technique to its absolute limit. His terrifying vital force all but became raging lightning dragons that tore through his meridians.
Yet Sha remained motionless, both hands behind his back. The amusement in his eyes continued to deepen.
The lightning sword light hurtled toward him faster than the eye could follow.
Ye Feng moved. His empty left sleeve fluttered, and his right hand, now visible, was pitch-black. A sinister black ghost mask covered half his face. With the Wrathful Slaughter Sword in hand, he stepped between Li Guanqi and Lu Tian.
Boom!
Boom! Li Guanqi stared in disbelief. Ye Feng’s face was cold as frost, his gaze devoid of emotion. Li Guanqi’s heart sank, but before his sword light struck, he forced himself to withdraw thirty percent of its power.
A surge of power followed. A black-and-gold sword light swept across the sky, a phantom golden tiger wreathed in demonic qi above it. Its force rivaled Li Guanqi’s full-power strike.
The collision shook the sky. Its shockwave hurled everyone from the Daxia Sword Sect several hundred zhang.
Xi Yunhuai stood alone before them and raised a hand, his expression incomparably grave. Somehow, he restored the sect’s shattered protective array.
Li Guanqi’s robes snapped in the shockwave. The sword in his hand gave a mournful cry and shattered, leaving him with only its hilt. He stared at Ye Feng through bloodshot eyes. That expressionless face made his heart ache.
Li Guanqi clenched his fist and pounded his chest. His voice trembled. “Second Brother Ye... why...?”
