A '70s Flash Marriage: Raising Cubs, Making Millions
Chapter 220: Keeping a Low Profile
Chapter 220: Chapter 220: Keeping a Low Profile
After Feng Jiaojiao made a scene, Qian Kang invited Father Feng over and told him to take Feng Jiaojiao away, otherwise, she would be forcibly removed.
For the sake of saving face, Father Feng took Feng Jiaojiao home with a stern face.
Under everyone’s watch, Qian Kang successfully divorced Feng Jiaojiao. It was heard that when Chen Hong brought the divorce agreement to her, Feng Jiaojiao refused to sign it until Father Feng slapped her, and she finally signed it.
In any case, as long as Feng Jiaojiao signed the document, Qian Kang was considered divorced.
This Chapter of marriage had thus been concluded.
The incident between Feng Jiaojiao and Qian Kang frightened Zhuang Xiaoxuan and Lv Jingjing. Mr. Zhuang and Mr. Lv even called specifically to order them not to act out again but to live peacefully with their husbands.
If they ended up divorced like Feng Jiaojiao, they shouldn’t even think about coming home.
The two never imagined that Qian Kang, who had always been the most obedient and honest, would actually get divorced from Feng Jiaojiao.
Now, they dared not act out anymore, living obediently with their tails between their legs. Zhao Lin and Mu Cheng had been restless too, but seeing the change in attitude to cordialness, they seemed to have some lingering feelings to make it work.
When Lu Feng told Fu Xiaoxiao about this, Fu Xiaoxiao smiled faintly. "Once things have blown up to this extent, wanting not to divorce simply won’t work."
"If only she had realized earlier and softened a bit towards Qian Kang, maybe it wouldn’t have come to this."
Lu Feng nodded in agreement.
"This issue isn’t just about Feng Jiaojiao; her father is the bigger problem. Her daring to tear documents in the office already crossed a line."
"She’s not a good person; she wants to bully mom..." Lu Chen, sitting beside, couldn’t help but interject, causing Lu Lin to urgently cover his mouth, but it was too late.
"What did you say? Xiao Chen, say that again?"
Lu Feng looked at Lu Chen. Did he just say Feng Jiaojiao wanted to bully Fu Xiaoxiao?
Lu Lin reluctantly let go of Lu Chen’s mouth. Since he had already spoken, Lu Chen decided to spill it all out. "That day, when we were playing on the back mountain, we overheard them saying that because mom embarrassed them, they wanted to teach mom a lesson by giving her a job and then bullying her!"
"Huh?" Fu Xiaoxiao pointed to herself, intending to target her?
"Yes, my brother and I both heard it. They are really bad. They’ve used such methods to bully many people." Lu Chen held nothing back and said everything.
"They actually still wanted to bully me?" Fu Xiaoxiao blinked. How were they so sure she would take the job they offered?
What if she didn’t accept it? What would they do?
"Seems like I’ve been too easy to bully, to the point where they don’t take me seriously." Lu Feng left without saying a word, his face chilly.
"Dad, where are you going?" Lu Chen blinked in confusion at Fu Xiaoxiao.
"Silly, of course, he’s going to avenge mom." Lu Lin knocked on Lu Chen’s little head, telling him not to speak; he was like a door that couldn’t close.
"Really?" Lu Chen immediately put down his toy and rushed out.
Fu Xiaoxiao looked at Lu Lin, who was inexplicably a bit guilty, having the feeling he was hiding something from her.
"Xiao Lin, is there something you want to tell me?" Fu Xiaoxiao asked with a gentle smile.
"Mom..." Lu Lin recalled the last time he angered Fu Xiaoxiao, it was because he hid something from her.
"My brother and I were angry, so we went to the back mountain and picked up a little green snake, then threw it into their yard..."
Lu Lin dared not hide, admitting his mistake as he stood before Fu Xiaoxiao and voluntarily confessed.
Fu Xiaoxiao hadn’t expected that just a casual question would get Lu Lin to really tell her.
"Thank you for protecting me." Fu Xiaoxiao gently hugged Lu Lin, thanking him for standing up for her. "But don’t do such dangerous things again. If you’re bitten by a snake, I’d blame myself for a lifetime."
"Don’t worry, mom, I won’t be bitten by a snake. We both had repellent packs, which worked really well." Seeing that Fu Xiaoxiao wasn’t angry, Lu Lin offered up the repellent pack he personally prepared like a treasure.
"I almost forgot you still know how to mix herbs." Fu Xiaoxiao chuckled and took the herb pack, sniffing a scent that was hard to describe.
"However, never again!" Fu Xiaoxiao ruffled Lu Lin’s hair, scolding with her mouth but happy in her heart.
Who doesn’t like protecting their little cubs!
How could they be so lovable! The little rascal, making her reluctant to scold him.
Not knowing what Lu Feng did, the next day, Fu Xiaoxiao was faced with a visit from Zhuang Xiaoxuan and Lv Jingjing to apologize.
"Mrs. Lu, sorry, please forgive us, we were just trying to please Feng Jiaojiao at the time, really didn’t mean to target you." Zhuang Xiaoxuan and Lv Jingjing kept bowing in apology.
They put all the blame on Feng Jiaojiao, who wasn’t present anyway.
"Oh, what did you do wrong?" Fu Xiaoxiao looked puzzled, not understanding what they were apologizing for.
"It’s just... Feng Jiaojiao wanted to teach you a lesson by giving you a job and then...making things difficult for you at work." Zhuang Xiaoxuan said quietly, head lowered.
"Feng Jiaojiao has already ruined her own marriage; I hope you take care of yourselves and don’t follow in her footsteps." Fu Xiaoxiao smiled slightly at them.
Their expressions changed as they looked up at Fu Xiaoxiao.
"Are you threatening us?"
"No, it’s a warning. Don’t act all high and mighty, without your fathers, you’re just ordinary people too. Your parents’ glory wasn’t meant for you to squander away." Fu Xiaoxiao maintained a proper smile, yet her words held unwavering firmness.
"You’ve never worked hard, so on what grounds do you look down on those who do." Fu Xiaoxiao said calmly. "Alright, you’ve apologized, you can leave now!"
Seeing that Fu Xiaoxiao had no intention of inviting them in to sit, the two women were anxious.
"Aren’t you going to invite us in for a chat? I think we should be the ones having tea and chatting together." Zhuang Xiaoxuan offered amiably.
"There’s a saying that goes, differing paths cannot allow for mutual counsel." Fu Xiaoxiao declined politely. "You like black tea, while I prefer white tea."
After finishing her words, Fu Xiaoxiao closed the door right in front of them.
Zhuang Xiaoxuan and Lv Jingjing exchanged glances, pursing their lips in dissatisfaction as they left.
Wanting to lose their temper, they remembered their current predicament and couldn’t let it out.
People who had been proud for so many years now had to lower themselves.
"It’s infuriating, she’s just a country woman, who does she think she is to look down on us! I’m sick of it, they’ve also been giving us attitude these days, when have we ever suffered such humiliation." Zhuang Xiaoxuan said through gritted teeth back home.
Lv Jingjing took a deep breath. "It’s truly too much, without any status, she’s just a colonel’s wife, just wait until my man becomes a colonel..."
"She’s a mere village woman, what does she know of socializing! We’ll deal with her in the future! It’s not favorable to us now, we can only endure!" Zhuang Xiaoxuan looked at Lv Jingjing sternly.
"Ah!!" Lv Jingjing buried her head in a pillow, screaming, venting her anger into it.
