Zombie Bodyguard
Chapter 2314 - 2311: Returning to the Space
Chapter 2314: Chapter 2311: Returning to the Space
"Is this... a Divine Skill?" Zhuge Cai Zhe exclaimed in surprise.
"Uh, no, I don’t know how to explain it either. Anyway, after recognizing its master, the Shennong Ding can be stored inside the body. It seems to be able to switch between void and reality." Lin Tian thought for a moment and could only force an explanation.
In fact, he wasn’t very clear either. How such a large entity could be stored inside the body couldn’t be explained by the principles of Ancient Martial, let alone science.
However, not being able to explain it doesn’t mean it’s unscientific. Current science can explore several states of matter: gaseous, liquid, solid, plasma, supercritical, super-solid, and neutron states.
Among them, the "neutron state" is the most abnormal. The density of neutron state matter is insanely intimidating. A matchbox-sized piece of it weighs 30 billion tons.
The Shennong Ding’s transformation between void and reality might just be another form of matter that modern science hasn’t discovered yet.
"The forces of the world are truly eye-opening. Indeed, below the Innate, there’s really nothing worth longing for." Zhuge Cai Zhe sighed deeply.
But his comment made Wang Wanxi and the others feel a bit awkward, as even she wasn’t at Innate Perfection, and even Ling Xuesong was only at Late-stage Innate like Zhuge Cai Zhe, unwilling to advance.
As everyone excitedly examined the Shennong Ding, Lin Tian threw out another bombshell: "Actually, Elder Yan told me the secrets above the Innate."
"Really?" Ling Xuesong and Zhuge Cai Zhe shouted out in unison. The goal these two old men had been striving for was nothing less than the realm above the Innate.
Though Ling Zishan and Wang Wanxi had not yet reached Innate Perfection, it was just a matter of time, so they too found it hard to stay calm.
With the two old men staring at him intently, Lin Tian knew that if he kept them guessing, the two might pounce on him. So he straightforwardly said, "Above the Innate are several realms, the first of which is the Transformation Period. To break through Innate Perfection and ascend to the Transformation Period requires a type of energy called Spirit Energy."
"Spirit Energy? What kind of energy is that?" Wang Wanxi asked.
"Spirit Energy is more advanced than True Qi, existing in certain hidden paradises or among the rarest treasures of the world. It is very rare, and so far, only the Ancient Hidden Stream is known to possess it."
"An Ancient Martial Artist at Innate Perfection absorbs Spirit Energy and then converts all the True Qi in their body into Spirit Energy, finally advancing to the Transformation Period. You’ve also encountered masters at the Transformation Period; both the Divine Valley and Yan Bei are at this stage." Lin Tian revealed everything in one breath without holding anything back.
After all, Yan Shan hadn’t cautioned him against sharing, so Lin Tian didn’t hesitate.
"I see..." Wang Wanxi exhaled a long breath of realization, but even so, knowing it didn’t help—because without Spirit Energy, she was also troubled.
The two old men exchanged glances. Ling Xuesong solemnly said, "In the past, Old Man Zhuge and I always wondered why so many Ancient Martial Artists couldn’t break through to Innate Perfection. Logically, across hundreds and thousands of years, there have been many remarkable talents; why did they end in regret?"
"We eventually concluded something was missing. We just didn’t expect that thing to be Spirit Energy, and rare enough to be coveted by even the Ancient Hidden Stream." Ling Xuesong felt a mix of excitement, regret, and helplessness.
Knowing it now did not solve anything, at best it just provided more fodder for thoughts, as the Ancient Hidden Stream would have already scoured any treasures or Feng Shui lands containing Spirit Energy.
"Such a pity, such a pity..." Zhuge Cai Zhe sighed.
"According to Elder Yan, the world’s Spirit Energy will only become scarcer, leading to fewer people surpassing the Innate level. In a few hundred or a thousand years, even becoming an Ancient Martial Artist might be difficult," Lin Tian said, choosing his words carefully, afraid of hurting the seniors’ spirits.
The Ancient Martial Artists fell silent for some time, then both old men began to laugh. Zhuge Cai Zhe laughed, "I almost lost my Dao Heart equilibrium. Truly, the more we cultivate, the more we regress. What does it matter if we lack Spirit Energy? As long as our minds undergo a journey of cultivation, this life isn’t in vain."
"Old Man Zhuge, for once I agree with you. As long as we cultivate with sincerity and hold no regrets, it’s enough." Ling Xuesong said with open-minded laughter.
With their infectious optimism, Lin Tian couldn’t help but smile as well. Sometimes he felt that Ling Xuesong and Zhuge Cai Zhe had better character than those grand masters of the Divine Clan.
Or perhaps, the higher one’s standing among the Divine Clan, the more human nature fades, replaced by greater indifference?
"Ha ha, now it’ll be even harder for Shuiyao to catch up with Lin Tian," Ling Xuesong laughed heartily, not forgetting to educate his granddaughter.
Ling Shuiyao was displeased, pouting: "Grandpa, why do you compare me with Lin Tian? Who can compare to his monstrous abilities?"
Everyone was momentarily stunned before bursting into laughter, leaving Lin Tian speechless. How did it come to involve him?
"I think that’s enough. Xuanxuan must be tired from the long journey and should rest." Ling Zishan gently reminded.
Though the two old men had much more to discuss, they could not insist further, and so declared the gathering over—after all, several hours of observation and discussion had taken them deep into the night.
As Ling Zishan led the ladies away, Lin Tian suddenly asked, "Aunt Ling, how is Ling Xiao doing?"
Ling Zishan paused, then sighed softly, "Not very well. If possible, visit her tomorrow."
Lin Tian furrowed his brows, a cold light flashing in his eyes, naturally directed at the Divine Valley, if not the entire Divine Clan.
During the Kunlun Mountain encounter, Lin Tian struck the Divine Clan members heavily, not only because they blocked and ambushed him, but also due to Divine Valley’s brutal assault on Ling Xiao.
Once back in his room, Lin Tian sat cross-legged. Entering a meditative state via Xuanwu Meditation, he directed his gaze inwards, watching the Shennong Ding rise and fall within his Upper Elixir Field, surrounded by a purple energy— the fire power stored within the Upper Elixir Field.
The fire power did not reject the Shennong Ding, this ’uninvited guest’, and the two even harmonized well; the cauldron and the furnace fire existed as one.
Supervision through this perspective had its perks, allowing him to observe his internal state. As Lin Tian was observing the Shennong Ding and the fire power, suddenly, the Shennong Ding subtly vibrated, releasing a streak of emerald energy that flowed along newly formed meridians in his arm, eventually reaching the finger wearing the black iron ring.
The energy circled the black iron ring for a moment, then with a soft cracking sound, it broke through, diving into the ring.
Lit Tian’s Spiritual Sense followed the energy closely, and he felt a dizzying vertigo as his consciousness plunged into a void of darkness. Once the dizziness subsided, he focused his senses and found himself in a strange room.
"Is this... that space from last time?" Lin Tian reacted immediately; the surroundings were so familiar, identical to those he had seen before.
"Huh? Master, where have you ended up?" The Sword Spirit’s voice suddenly sounded.
Lin Tian was taken aback, puzzled, "How did you come in here?"
A cluster of golden energy appeared before him, precisely the Sword Spirit, yet Lin Tian remembered clearly that last time in this space, he couldn’t communicate with the Sword Spirit outside.
