Chapter 1246: The First Chaos Treasure (1)
Chapter 1246: The First Chaos Treasure (1)
The Wu Yuan Saint Realm stood as the supreme Saintdom of the Long Shan Universe, a sanctuary teeming with sempiternal lifeforms year-round. Among its inhabitants were over a hundred thousand Sovereigns, its prosperity rivaling the Ming Jian Saint Realm, perhaps even surpassing it. The reason for this was the numerous eternal powerhouses who dwelled within its boundaries.
Whoosh! Two figures emerged from the swirling spacetime vortex at the mainland’s core. They hovered, awestruck, gazing down at the vast, beautiful continent spread beneath them. Their attention inevitably gravitated toward the massive floating mountain range suspended at the void’s edge.
“Is that the legendary Creation Holy Mountain?”
“It must be.”
“They say when True Saint Wu Yuan became the Dao Master, a large group of Perennials and Saints emerged from the depths of the Creation Dao Realm and migrated here. These eternal powerhouses occasionally make appearances, showing glimpses of their immense power.”
“The Saint Realm truly exceeds all expectations. This is a great opportunity for us.”
“If we’re fortunate enough to be accepted as disciples by one of the Saints, that would be the real opportunity. We might even have a chance to transcend.” The two Sovereigns continued their eager exchange, hope brightening their voices.
…
Within a tranquil courtyard nestled in the massive ring-shaped mountain range known as the Creation Holy Mountain, a white-robed boy and a red-robed girl leisurely sipped their tea. Their soft, delicate features gave them an utterly adorable appearance.
“The Dao Master is truly formidable,” Hong Qin remarked, her small fingers wrapped around her teacup. “The power infused in this Saint Realm allows Saints to live here indefinitely without any suppression. It’s almost like an Eternal Realm.”
“Indeed,” Bai Sui agreed, nodding sincerely. “At the very least, it’s far superior to the Saint Realm that the old Dao Master once created.”
These two children were the keepers of the Creation Dao Realm who had once received Wu Yuan over a hundred million years ago. Since Wu Yuan had succeeded the title of Dao Master and become a True Saint, establishing this Saint Realm, Bai Sui and Hong Qin had led countless Perennials and Saints hidden in the Creation Dao Realm to this sanctuary, where they had been cultivating ever since.
Suddenly, the air rippled. A figure in black robes materialized from nothingness, his aura vast and ethereal as he smiled at the pair. “Bai Sui, Hong Qin.”
“It’s the Dao Master!” The previously relaxed children instantly sprang from their chairs, rushing forward to bow respectfully.
“We pay our respects to the Dao Master,” they greeted in unison.
“Rise, there’s no need for such formalities,” Wu Yuan said warmly, waving his hand. An invisible force gently lifted the two to their feet.
“Dao Master, what brings you here?” Bai Sui asked, curiosity brightening his eyes.
“Are you finding your stay in the Saint Realm comfortable?” Wu Yuan smiled, his gaze encompassing both children. “What about the other Perennials and Saints?”
“We’re all more than comfortable,” Bai Sui replied, waving his little hands enthusiastically. “The other eternal powerhouses are thriving. It’s a hundred times better than staying in the Creation Dao Realm. They’re all profoundly grateful to you, Dao Master.”
Wu Yuan’s lips curved into a genuine smile.
Years ago, when the Creation Dao Master chose to “commit suicide”, many True Saints under him gained their freedom. Or rather, the Creation Dao Master found it impossible to maintain his influence over them. However, the Perennial powerhouses and Saints suffered a cruel fate.
The Creation Dao Master hadn’t warned them in advance. Perhaps he simply hadn’t cared about their fates. Once the Creation Dao Realm was sealed, these Perennials and Saints were trapped within it, unable to escape this prison.
Fortunately, the Creation Dao Realm was eternally indestructible and wouldn’t disappear with each samsara cycle of the universe. This allowed these Perennials and Saints to survive, even as they remained trapped.
It wasn’t until Wu Yuan became the next Dao Master that they regained their freedom, immediately seeking sanctuary in Wu Yuan’s Saint Realm.
Under normal circumstances, Perennials and Saints returning to the River of Universes would be suppressed, experiencing profound discomfort. But the Saint Realm was an exception.
A Saint Realm was fundamentally a domain under the absolute control of a True Saint, capable of resisting the suppression of the River of Universes’ essence. Here, eternal powerhouses could live freely, unbound by any restrictions, as long as they remained within the Saint Realm’s boundaries.
In the future, if Wu Yuan’s Eternal Realm merged with the universe’s essence, it could trigger special changes throughout the entire universe, allowing even True Saints and Dao Zenithels to return. The Eldritch Court Universe and the Immortal Court Universe were prime examples, each home to numerous True Saints.
“It’s good that you’re comfortable,” Wu Yuan said warmly. “Feel free to settle in the Saint Realm. If you wish to join the Eldritch Court, you may look for Eldritch Progenitor Wan Xuan.”
Among the Eternal subordinates left behind by the Creation Dao Master were nearly two hundred Saints and even more Perennials.
“Yes, I’ll relay this to them,” Bai Sui responded with a respectful nod.
Though these eternal powerhouses trusted Wu Yuan, having just regained their freedom, they might hesitate to pledge allegiance immediately to the Eldritch Court.
“Bai Sui, I’ve come for another matter,” Wu Yuan continued. “I wish to retrieve the Chaos Treasure left behind by Senior Mountain Daoist. Why don’t you both accompany me?”
“Oh?” Bai Sui’s eyes brightened with understanding. “Dao Master, you’ve finally decided to claim the treasure? Very well.”
“Let’s go,” Wu Yuan said decisively, waving his hand. An endless surge of power enveloped Bai Sui and Hong Qin.
Whoosh! Ripples of spacetime spread outward. In an instant, the three vanished from the palace.
…
Wu Yuan’s establishment of his Saint Realm did not affect the Creation Dao Realm, which had existed through countless samsara cycles of heaven and earth. Even if heaven and earth underwent samsara, even if the universe collapsed and perished, it couldn’t shake the Creation Saint Realm in the slightest.
Why? Because fundamentally, it was an Eternal Realm.
A so-called Eternal Realm was an indestructible domain. Powerhouses like Eldritch Progenitor Hou Tu or the Heavenly Imperator might manage to destroy a normal Saint Realm, but an Eternal Realm was incomparably mighty. Even if a hundred Dao Zenithels joined forces, they would find themselves powerless against it.
Within their own Eternal Realm, a Dao Zenithel was absolutely invincible.
Wu Yuan soared through the void of the Creation Dao Realm, Bai Sui and Hong Qin following behind. Spacetime fluctuations enveloped his body as he moved at an inconceivable speed. Ten thousand times the speed of light? No, the concept of light speed no longer applied. This was traversal through different dimensions of spacetime itself.
Heavenly Wolf Mountain. Wu Yuan murmured, his gaze piercing the void.
Aquaflame Chasm!
The Well of Life. His eyes grew deep and dark. As the successor of the Creation Dao Master, after achieving eternity, he had gained tremendous authority over the Dao Realm. Combined with his extraordinary perceptive abilities, the entire Dao Realm lay exposed beneath his scrutiny.
Scenes of various exploration sites and special worlds appeared before him, including dangerous regions he had once ventured through. It was vast and boundless.
Wu Yuan marveled inwardly. This Eternal Realm, while only comparable to a macrocosm in size, actually encompasses myriad worlds, far surpassing a hundred macrocosms. Will my future Eternal Realm be even more powerful than this?
The Creation Dao Realm was already considered one of the weakest among Eternal Realms, yet it still filled Wu Yuan with awe. Anticipation for his own future Eternal Realm stirred in his heart.
Soon after, the three arrived in the depths of the Creation Dao Realm. Here, darkness stretched endlessly, as if they had entered another vast expanse of outer space.
A majestic temple, nine light-years in size, stood erect amidst this void.
“Dao Master, we’ve reached the core area of the Dao Realm,” Bai Sui announced. “Once I deactivate the array seal, you’ll be able to choose from the Chaos Treasures left behind by the old Dao Master.”
“Mm.” Wu Yuan nodded slightly.
He held absolute control over most areas in the Creation Dao Realm, except for this core area. This was the territory that Mountain Daoist had reserved for himself. Wu Yuan possessed only the authority to enter and leave; retrieving treasures required assistance.
Of course, with sufficient power, such as strength comparable to Eldritch Progenitor Hou Tu, Wu Yuan could forcibly destroy the array seal and take all the treasures…But that would be profoundly disrespectful. Even if he could, Wu Yuan would never consider it.
“Hong Qin, come, let’s work together,” Bai Sui called out.
The two children darted forward, their small hands moving with surprising grace. Complex array patterns formed in the void, two great Dao pattern arrays quickly merging into one.
“Array!” Bai Sui called out, his childish voice carrying immense power.
“Deactivate!” With his command, the void began to tremble violently.
The fabric of space cracked with a resonant boom, outer space distorting as a series of spatial rifts appeared. A series of extraordinary treasures materialized before Wu Yuan’s eyes, each emitting dazzling light and radiating astonishing pressure. Streams of power enveloped them, faintly sealing and suppressing their true power.
“So many treasures,” Wu Yuan breathed, his voice filled with awe.
“The Dao Master’s collection is truly astounding.” He couldn’t help but marvel as his gaze swept across the vast display. Each artifact radiated immense power. By their auras alone, many rivaled his own Cosmic Equilibrium Armor and Limitless War Saber, perhaps even surpassing them.
Before him gleamed an arsenal of weapons: sabers, swords, hammers, etc. Beyond these lay all sorts of rarities, such as Chaos Orichalcum, and other equipment forging materials.
“Naturally,” Bai Sui replied, pride evident in his tone. He gestured toward the constellation of treasures suspended in the void. “The old Dao Master was extraordinarily skilled in equipment forging.
“Dao Master, there are 8 Chaos Treasures, 37 Xiantian Instruments,1620 high-grade Xiantian artifacts, and 863 rare treasures in this collection.
“Before his passing, the old Dao Master bestowed many treasures upon his True Saints and gave several to other Dao Zenithels. What remains here represents only the finest of his collection.” He paused, meeting Wu Yuan’s gaze directly. “According to the old Dao Master’s instructions, you may select only one of the eight Chaos Treasures, but the remaining treasures are all yours to take as you wish.”
“I can take any of the other treasures except for the Chaos Treasures?” Wu Yuan’s brows rose in surprise. He had expected to claim only a single Chaos Treasure, not this windfall.
“That’s right.” Bai Sui’s lips curved into a smile. “The old Dao Master specifically stated that the other treasures were prepared with you in mind. You may also claim any treasure from other areas of the Dao Realm as you desire. Only these eight Chaos Treasures remain partially restricted. When the old Dao Master returns in the future, he will need them, so you may only have one.”
Understanding dawned on Wu Yuan. He realized now that even if Mountain Daoist were to return and begin cultivating anew, the backdoors and numerous imprints he had left behind would allow him to achieve eternity quickly, then rapidly ascend to True Saint and finally Dao Zenithel. At that level of power, only Chaos Treasures would retain their value in his eyes. The lesser treasures would serve little purpose.
Moreover, according to Senior Tian Xu, the Dao Master should possess a Xuanhuang Dao Treasure, yet none have appeared here. Senior Mountain Daoist has probably hidden it away somewhere. Wu Yuan pondered this briefly but harbored no designs toward Mountain Daoist’s Xuanhuang Dao Treasure. His gratitude toward Mountain Daoist ran too deep for such thoughts.
“Since Senior Mountain Daoist has spoken thus, I won’t stand on ceremony,” Wu Yuan said with a soft smile that masked his excitement. “I do have great need for these treasures.”
As time flowed by, Wu Yuan methodically gathered the sealed Xiantian artifacts, rare treasures, and Xiantian Instruments scattered throughout the vast expanse of space.
Finally, only eight artifacts remained in the emptied void, each radiating an aura of such terrifying power that the space around them seemed to bend. Wu Yuan had noticed these eight from the beginning. Though sealed, their aura was on par with unleashed Xiantian Instruments.
“Dao Master, please make your choice,” Bai Sui said simply. “The Dao Realm’s essence has its rules. Once one Chaos Treasure is removed, the others will be drawn back into the Dao Realm’s essence. Choose with care.”
“Understood.” Wu Yuan nodded once, his expression turning solemn.
Hong Qin and Bai Sui stood at a respectful distance, their eyes betraying a hint of envy despite their silence. Yet it was merely envy without covetousness. Had they been True Saints, perhaps other thoughts might have stirred in their hearts. But as mere Perennial powerhouses, they couldn’t utilize Chaos Treasures anyway, allowing their hearts to remain undisturbed.
This, Wu Yuan realized, was precisely why the Creation Dao Master had selected two Perennials to oversee the Dao Realm. Their limited strength ensured stability.
Eight Chaos Treasures? Wu Yuan’s gaze methodically assessed each one in turn. With his elevated Dao cultivation level, even the slightest extension of his Soul Force revealed the extraordinary nature of these Chaos Treasures.
