Yuan’s Ascension

Chapter 1101: Blade Of The Abyss (2)

Chapter 1101: Blade Of The Abyss (2)

Destruction! Wu Yuan’s body refiner consciousness had completely merged with the operational profundities of the Abyss’s essence. Though he glimpsed merely a fraction of its nature, the experience transcended anything he had known before.

I’ve merged with a strand of the Great Dao’s Authority. He reflected. This naturally grants me profound insight into the Great Dao of Creation, allowing me to advance with unprecedented speed.

I’ve also received the inheritances of over a thousand Eternals, their accumulated wisdom becoming my own. Though my cultivation period spans only a few hundred thousand years, my true accumulation runs unfathomably deep. In theory, this should enable me to create an eternal ultimate technique.

But theory is still just theory. Wu Yuan’s mind had achieved perfect clarity. I’ve witnessed too much and, in doing so, nearly lost sight of myself. The Daos of others can only serve as reference points, never as my true path.

Eternal powerhouses! Whether they were Perennial Eternals who had created eternal ultimate techniques, or true Eternals who had pioneered their own Daos, their creations were all unique. Only by relying on oneself could one stand firm in eternity.

Since ancient times, through countless cycles of heaven and earth, those who comprehended the Great Dao of Creation shared similar foundations but walked divergent paths. Wu Yuan mused. Some created within creation itself, some chose annihilation amidst the cycle of life and death, others fused the very concepts of living and dying. Creation, life, and death.

Of the two ultimate techniques I created before, the first described the journey from life to death, the second from death back to life.

Yet whether life or death, both remain confined within the Laws of Life and Death, and ultimately the Great Dao of Creation.

Creation, Life, and Death are merely facets of the Primordial Rules, with countless other Great Daos running parallel to them.

In this vast world, samsara, creation, spacetime—everything that evolves from them is nothing but an endless cycle of destruction and creation.

The birth of life, the evolution of worlds, the flow of rivers, the growth of all living things, the expansion of stars, the cycling of the universe—all are acts of creation.

While the withering of plants, the passing of life, the operation of the Abyss—all belong to destruction.

Years of deep accumulation, the successful creation of two ultimate techniques, and now his comprehension of the Abyss’s operational essence had fundamentally transformed the perspective of Wu Yuan’s body refiner self.

His vision was no longer confined to the Great Dao of Creation. Instead, with Creation as his foundation, he looked toward something higher and more distant—Great Destruction and Great Creation.

This is truly the path that encompasses everything. He realized. And it’s the path I must walk. Wu Yuan now had a vague concept of his future direction, while simultaneously understanding the nearly impossible challenge it presented.

It could only be described as an impossible path. Encompass everything? In this vast heaven and earth, when countless Eternal powerhouses pioneered their own Daos, most chose to specialize in a single aspect. Few dared to contemplate encompassing all things from the beginning.

Too difficult. Using such a foundation to pioneer a Dao bordered on the impossible.

But I seek to pioneer my own Dao as a sempiternal lifeform—already an extreme challenge. Naturally, I must stand high enough and see far enough. Wu Yuan’s ambition burned fiercely, yet his mind remained perfectly calm. Only by pioneering a Dao of sufficient strength can I avoid being constrained by the Great Dao’s Authority.

Moreover, no matter the difficulty, I am confident.

As a Dao Master candidate, provided he didn’t perish, he was destined to become a Dao Zenithel Eternal. If he couldn’t muster this much confidence and courage, how could he hope to stand alongside Eldritch Progenitor Hou Tu and the Heavenly Imperator? He had to try at least.

Great Destruction and Great Creation merely form the framework, still too distant for my current self… From what I’ve gleaned of the Abyss’s operational essence, this represents ultimate destruction.

Amid the chaos, Wu Yuan saw his path with clarity, yet understood he couldn’t reach too far too quickly. With the experiences of over a thousand Eternals to guide him, he knew precisely what steps to take.

Over a thousand years passed, yet for Wu Yuan, it felt like hundreds of thousands or even millions of years… He remained completely immersed in comprehension and creation.

Life, Death! Destruction, Creation, the Abyss… When inspiration finally struck, countless insights flooded his mind in a single moment.

It was as if one thread had suddenly connected all loose ends, forming a complete tapestry of understanding.

This is the moment.

The Flower of Sin silently dissipated as Wu Yuan rose to his feet, standing upon the continent spanning ten billion li.

His eyes remained closed, a Mo Yuan Saber somehow already in his hand, though when it had appeared, none could say.

With a whoosh, the battle saber swung! The blade ray flashed.

Countless mysterious Dao patterns converged—patterns no longer belonging to the Law of Life or Death, not even to the Great Dao of Creation, but originating from the Primordial Rules themselves, from Wu Yuan’s own comprehension—eternal Dao resonance.

The destructive blade ray, carrying this eternal resonance, sliced through the endless void. Where it passed, all ceased to exist. Half the small continent before him was obliterated, countless matter reduced to nothingness.

The majestic blade ray struck the distant array, causing it to collapse and crumble layer by layer.

The Nine Radiance Celestial River Array silently dissipated under this single strike—a blade ray that cut across a hundred billion li of spacetime, splitting open ten billion li of void.

The eternal blade ray prevented the split void from mending for a long time. Even the will of the Abyss’s essence completely retreated before this strike, as if paying homage—a celebration for the birth of the mightiest sempiternal lifeform!

Great Destruction! This strike represents the third move of my self-created ultimate technique, yet it marks the beginning of my self-created Dao. Wu Yuan’s heart remained utterly tranquil.

He felt no intoxication from the power of this strike. He understood that an even more arduous road lay ahead.

From the moment the eternal ultimate technique was created, it etched itself deeply into his spirit, his will, embedding within his soul and aura imprint. The path was set, his heart unwavering. He must continue along this road to its conclusion.

Either pioneer his self-created Dao truly, or remain forever trapped at this step.

The stronger the self-created Dao, the greater its potential, yet the harder the journey to pioneer it. Wu Yuan slowly sheathed his battle saber, feeling spacetime rapidly collapse around him. This step was created through comprehending the Abyss’s essence, so let it be called—Blade of the Abyss.

The third move of his ultimate technique—Blade of the Abyss!

Soon, Wu Yuan’s vital aura fully withdrew.

A stream of light flew toward him, instantly merging with his body—his mana self returning.

“Master? What happened? The array…” Yun Yi stood dazed, uncertain whether to celebrate or lament.

She hadn’t expected this outcome. The array she had painstakingly constructed wasn’t broken by the Eternals outside, but breached by Wu Yuan himself.

“Yun Yi, thank you for your dedication.” Wu Yuan smiled gently. “The defense array has served its purpose well. Now that I’ve created my ultimate technique, it’s time for us to depart. The array no longer serves any purpose.”

“But Master, those two Eternal powerhouses are still waiting outside. Are we simply leaving like this?” Concern laced Yun Yi’s voice.

“Two Eternals?” Wu Yuan nodded slightly. “I had almost forgotten them.

“It’s time to go. However, before we leave, let’s bring them along as well.” A faint smile crossed his face.

“Bring them along?” Yun Yi stood stunned.

With a wave of his hand, Wu Yuan stored Yun Yi in a grotto-heaven artifact. His gaze swept across the surroundings, storing anything that might reveal his identity while scrambling the fabric of spacetime.

Unless a True Saint descends, no one will be able to scry the past and witness what transpired here. Wu Yuan felt satisfied.

Super powerhouses routinely scrambled spacetime fluctuations to guard their secrets.

Two Eternals? It’s time for a legend to be born in the Abyss. Wu Yuan’s form grew to eight million li tall, with nine battle sabers manifesting behind his back. One sheath, nine blades.

Azure Origin Armor, Mo Yuan Sabers—I can finally unleash a tenth of their true power. Wu Yuan soared skyward, vanishing from the collapsing world below.

Outside the vast array, two colossal figures exuding eternal auras communicated in the void.

“Da Yang, how’s the array?” Saint Hong Yun asked.

“A frontal assault would prove difficult,” Saint Da Yang replied, his voice resonating through space. Clad in black battle armor, his presence commanded respect. “However, given ten thousand years, I should be able to dismantle it.

“I’ll study it carefully first,” he added.

Saint Hong Yun nodded, offering no objection.

“Hmm?” A flicker of surprise suddenly crossed Saint Da Yang’s eyes, and Saint Hong Yun immediately sensed it too.

The vast, endless array began emitting shockwaves of astonishing power.

Just as the two eternal powerhouses—and the group of Devil Emperors secretly observing from the distant void—thought the array was preparing to launch an attack, this mighty construction, which had stood in the Sector River for tens of thousands of years and confounded even two Dao Pioneer Eternals, began collapsing on its own.

“Collapse?”

“Disintegrating by itself? How…?” Saint Da Yang and Saint Hong Yun stood dumbfounded, as did the distant Devil Emperors.

They didn’t wait long for an answer.

“Devil Emperor Xia is emerging,” Saint Hong Yun’s gaze sharpened, focusing on a corner of the crumbling array.

“Oh?” Saint Da Yang’s expression grew solemn. Having never faced Devil Emperor Xia before, he shared no karmic connection with him.

The chaotic spacetime suddenly calmed, and a towering figure eight million li tall walked out silently.

A red cape fluttered behind him. Wearing black battle armor and carrying nine sabers on his back, he stood like a supreme being, his aura ancient and domineering, his presence pressuring the entire realm.

He had emerged at last.

“Devil Emperor Xia?” Saint Hong Yun’s pupils constricted as she stared intently at him. “He appears even stronger than before.”

“Indeed, formidably strong,” Saint Da Yang confirmed, standing at the forefront.

This marked his first encounter with Devil Emperor Xia. Deep within, he sensed that this being posed an unprecedented threat—one that could absolutely endanger his life. This primal danger raised goosebumps across his skin.

“Devil Emperor Xia has emerged.”

“The array was destroyed, and he walked out on his own?”

“Could he be attempting to escape? But who escapes so openly, so brazenly?”

Over thirty Devil Emperors from various True Saints’ factions watched from afar. With their limited strength, these Devil Emperors dared not interfere, but they could observe the impending confrontation.

“Devil Emperor Xia’s aura radiates such power.”

“He appears no weaker than those two eternal powerhouses!”

“Could he intend to face both Eternals simultaneously?” The many Devil Emperors speculated quietly.

Within the Sector River, the vast array continued its gradual collapse, spacetime trembling continuously.

“Devil Emperor Xia.” Saint Hong Yun’s voice, cold and piercing, echoed through endless spacetime. “Now that you’ve destroyed the array, do you intend to surrender? It’s a pity, but it seems a bit late to hand over the Flower of Sin now.”

“Too late?” Wu Yuan smiled faintly. “Hong Yun, I have no intention of surrendering the Flower of Sin.

“I destroyed the array by choice. I no longer need its protection,” he stated calmly.

No need for the array? Saint Hong Yun and Saint Da Yang felt inwardly shocked, for they would never consider Wu Yuan to make empty boasts.

“Bold words.” Saint Da Yang’s voice was deep and resonant. “Do you believe you can leave this place alive merely because you matched Hong Yun once?”

“What is your name?” Wu Yuan suddenly inquired.

“Da Yang,” the Eternal replied coldly.

“Hmm.” Wu Yuan smiled and nodded gently. “As the first Eternal I shall kill, I don’t mind remembering your name.”

“Such arrogance!”

“Devil Emperor Xia!” Saint Hong Yun and Saint Da Yang finally unleashed their rage. As eternal powerhouses, their pride ran deep.

In the distance, the watching Devil Emperors erupted in commotion.

“Such insolence from Devil Emperor Xia.”

“That’s called dominance.”

“Kill an Eternal? He dares claim he’ll kill an Eternal?”

They kept their eyes peeled on the edge of the void. Everyone recognized an unprecedented battle would soon erupt.

Behind these Devil Emperors, numerous True Saints from the Abyss, including True Saint Ji Guang and True Saint Yue Luo, observed from afar.

Ages had passed since any Devil Emperor dared provoke eternal powerhouses so directly.

“Devil Emperor Xia. I shall make you understand that a sempiternal lifeform has no right to provoke an Eternal.” Saint Da Yang’s voice thundered, no longer containing any trace of anger—only absolute coldness and killing intent.

The wrath of an Eternal was not impulsive but rather the killing intent born of perfect calm.

Saint Da Yang launched forward, his speed instantly reaching thirty thousand times that of light. Countless black lights manifested around him, dazzling and vast. Everything in their path disintegrated, spacetime itself unraveling as he charged toward Wu Yuan.

Saint Hong Yun moved simultaneously, swinging her nine divine swords. Sword lights emerged, eternal in their Dao resonance, stabbing toward Wu Yuan from all directions.

The two eternal powerhouses, disregarding all notions of dignity, joined forces against Wu Yuan.

“They’re attacking together?”

“These Eternals have no shame, teaming up against a single Devil Emperor.”

“Perhaps they know they cannot defeat Devil Emperor Xia individually.”

The watching Devil Emperors communicated amongst themselves, feeling both disdain for the Eternals and admiration for Devil Emperor Xia.

To provoke two eternal powerhouses into a joint attack—even if he perished in battle, his name would echo through the Abyss forever.

“Joining forces? Good. It saves me the trouble of dealing with you one by one. Let’s not waste time.” Wu Yuan smiled slightly, though his eyes grew colder than ever.

In the next moment, Wu Yuan swung the sabers in his hands.
