Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Xixi or Haha?

Ian looked bewildered and continued, "Do you like sleeping on the left side? I thought you preferred the spot by the window."

"And did you know you’re a real space-hog when you sleep?"

He was a space-hog *and* clingy.

How would Ian know? He had started sleeping on his own from a very young age, and before he was with Lynn, he had always slept alone.

He scratched his hair, feeling a bit awkward.

Lynn chuckled and continued getting ready, reminding him, "Don’t forget we have to go buy some things for Kiki for our trip later."

Ian nodded, walked up beside her, and bent down to get ready himself.

As Lynn brushed her teeth, she watched him in the mirror and smiled. ’This is the everyday life I’ve always dreamed of.’

Ian met her gaze, his long, dark eyes fixed on her. When he saw her smile, the corners of his own eyes crinkled as he smiled back.

"The bag your mom gave me when we left Aerie Garden yesterday was a custom piece from a top designer."

That designer is incredibly hard to book, so it must have been a lot of trouble.

Ian nodded again, mumbling around his toothbrush, "She has pretty good taste."

"Is that my point?" Lynn turned to face him, poking his puffed-out cheek.

"Besides bags, what else does your mom like? Jewelry?"

Ian hummed. "She pretty much has everything."

Lynn rolled her eyes, walked out of the bathroom, and picked up her phone. She found the contact for an internationally renowned jewelry designer she knew.

The designer replied quickly. Lynn sent over the requirements and style preferences, and he responded with an "OK" emoji before going offline.

When Ian came out after getting ready, he saw her excitedly sending messages on her phone. He didn’t disturb her, heading into the walk-in closet alone. After changing his clothes, he sat on the sofa to wait for her.

He didn’t say anything to rush her, but his frequent glances in her direction were clearly urging her to hurry.

Lynn finally got up to finish getting ready, putting on her makeup and changing her clothes.

She didn’t keep many clothes at Calyx Hall; most of them were purchased later. She mainly didn’t want the hassle of moving things back and forth, which made it easier to live at both places.

By the time she finished getting ready, Ian had already played two rounds of a game. When he saw her emerge, he quietly let out a sigh, which Lynn caught immediately.

"Getting impatient waiting for me?"

Ian hurriedly shook his head and took her hand. "Of course not."

"You’d better not be," Lynn huffed, heading downstairs with him.

Kiki was sprawled out on the sofa. It didn’t even stir when it heard them coming downstairs, just kept blissfully sleeping in the air conditioning, basking in the sun that streamed through the glass wall.

Lynn frowned as she looked out the glass wall at the harsh-looking sunlight. She was starting to have second thoughts.

"Why don’t we just have them deliver the stuff?" Lynn took out her phone, found the contact she’d saved earlier, and showed it to Ian.

Ian glanced down at the screen and chuckled. "Then didn’t you put on makeup for nothing?"

Lynn bit her lip, completely torn.

"How about this? After we’re done shopping for Kiki, I’ll take you on a tour of my company."

Lynn’s interest was piqued. She’d never been to Ian’s company before—mainly because Ian himself had barely gone since they’d gotten back together.

"All right, fine," Lynn said, though her tone was clearly reluctant.

Ian could clearly sense her curiosity about his company. He looked down at her with a knowing expression, earning him a sharp slap on the back from Lynn. He wisely averted his gaze.

The two of them first browsed a pet store, buying a ton of supplies for Kiki. But just as they were about to leave, Lynn found herself rooted to the spot.

Ian, having just paid, walked over to her and gave her a confused look.

"What’s wrong?"

Lynn pointed at a cat in a display case, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Hey, it’s the same breed as Kiki!"

Ian followed her pointing finger and saw that it was, indeed, a gorgeous and majestic Maine Coon.

This was arguably the most high-end pet store in all of Quartos, so the quality of the cats was impeccable. The price tag, of course, was just as impressive.

The clerk saw the stunningly attractive customers, who had just spent a fortune on pet supplies, still lingering in front of the display. Smiling, she approached them. Noticing they were both looking at the Maine Coon, she launched into an enthusiastic pitch: "This one is a descendant of last year’s show champion, which our boss brought back from Morelia. Its features are so exceptional that the boss spent a fortune to snap it up. But because of the price, it hasn’t sold yet, and the boss was actually planning to keep it for himself."

The more Lynn looked, the more she fell in love with the cat. "Is it a little boy or a little girl?" she asked.

Hearing her affectionate question, and recalling the expensive supplies she’d just purchased, the clerk knew this exquisite, doll-like customer must be a true cat lover. She smiled and said, "A little boy."

Lynn was a little disappointed to hear that. She had originally wanted to get a "wife" for Kiki, but on second thought, getting him a little brother wasn’t a bad idea either.

Seeing how smitten she was, Ian glanced at the clerk and said calmly, "We’ll take him. On my card. We’ll take him with us now. And put together a full set of supplies to send to the address I just gave you. Actually, make that two full sets. I’ll give you a second address to send the other one to."

Lynn looked at him, surprised. Ian smiled. "We’ll take him home, but since he’s still little, we can leave him with my parents while we’re away. We can pick him up when we get back."

"How about we let him and Kiki bond a little, and then send them to your parents’ place together before we leave?" Lynn was worried that if the two cats got familiar tonight only to be separated, they might fight when they were put together again later.

Ian nodded. "Sure. In that case, we’ll need one more set of supplies."

Lynn beamed, her eyes crinkling with joy. She opened the display case, scooped the ball of fluff into her arms, and started meowing playfully at it.

Hearing Ian generate two months’ worth of revenue for the store in just a few sentences, the clerk was grinning from ear to ear. She took the card and hurried to process the payment, promising, "We’ll get everything ready right away and arrange for a dedicated courier to deliver it to you shortly."

She fetched a pet carrier and placed the kitten inside to make it easier for the couple to carry.

Ian hummed calmly in acknowledgment. The couple and their new cat left the store and got into the car. Lynn had completely lost interest in visiting Ian’s company, now urging him to hurry back to Calyx Hall.

"Your affections change so fast. Kiki would be heartbroken if he knew," he said, instinctively coming to Kiki’s defense.

Lynn just huffed, unable to stop herself from turning to look at the kitten in the carrier.

"Should we name him Heehee or Haha?" she mused, unable to decide.

Ian: "..."

’Do we really have to pick that kind of name? Calling him Kiki is fine, I guess, but "Heehee" or "Haha" just sounds a little silly.’

"You pick one. They both go so well with Kiki," Lynn said, looking at him.

"..." Ian cleared his throat and pursed his lips. "Why don’t we try calling out both names when we get home and see which one he likes more?"

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to choose; he just knew Lynn too well. If he picked a name and people later made fun of how silly it sounded, Lynn would absolutely blame him for it.

"I guess that works."
