Tang Mo’er heard An’an’s scream and before she could react, An’an had pounced over, the two of them landing on the ground in a mess of limbs.

The acid in the plastic bottle spilled out. They had escaped only because An’an was agile in her movements and pushed Tang Mo’er away. The acid was all over the lawn and it created a hissing sound as a huge patch of grass corroded.

An’an made a ‘hmph’ sound, her tiny face was covered in sweat.

“An’an, what’s the matter with you? Are you hurt?” Tang Mo’er immediately got up and checked on An’an.

An’an applied some pressure on her left chest, two drops of acid were splattered onto her wound, the skin around had suffered from an acid burn.

The stinging pain was so unbearable that her face went entirely white. But she shook her head, whispering, “Little sister-in-law, I’m fine. Are you hurt?”

Tang Mo’er didn’t sustain any injuries. An’an had pounced over and acted as her human shield. It was only right that she was safe and sound.

“She’s right there.” The little boy pointed his finger in the woman’s direction.

The bodyguard looked in the direction the little boy pointed. There was a suspicious silhouette around the corner. Someone was watching them sneakily from afar.

“Stay still, don’t move!” The bodyguard called at the top of his voice and speedily gave chase.

Qin Yawen was dressed completely in black and she tried to hide her face with a scarf around her head. She dashed out of the main entrance of the hospital, wanting to hail a cab and escape at breakneck speed.

She was only one step away from ruining Tang Mo’er.

The acid would have been splattered all over Tang Mo’er’s face just now. As long as she ruined Tang Mo’er’s ethereal appearance, all the problems would have been solved.

But it was a futile attempt of hers, An’an had pounced over and saved Tang Mo’er.

After they managed to escape the two bodyguards, Qin Yawen sighed with relief. She asked, “Qi’er, why did you appear there?”

Lu Qi’er had her men watching over Qin Yawen all day long. She knew that there was something fishy going on with Qin Yawen, so she wanted to find out what Qin Yawen was up to. She didn’t anticipate Qin Yawen’s plans to splash acid over Tang Mo’er’s face and ruin her appearance.

Lu Qi’er arrived beside the bed before she noticed a black leather wallet left behind on the nightstand. It belonged to her father.

She picked up the wallet and looked through it. A photograph fell out from the wallet.
