Young Master Gu, Please Be Gentle

Chapter 1217 - No Heartbeat

Chapter 1217: No Heartbeat

Lu Yan looked at her lashes quivering, like a butterfly dancing in the air. She was embarrassed. Just like a maiden, she was still so easily embarrassed even though they had already been married for so long.

Of course, she was still just a young maiden.

Looking at her pretty face and silky skin, Lu Yan raised his handsome brows. He had really lucked out in love this life.

The next morning.

Sikong transferred in Mexico to Country A, and traveled to the Snow Mountain Residence with Tang Mo’er.

In the luxurious car.

Tang Mo’er looked sideways at Sikong. He was in a custom-made white shirt with a gray checkered suit over it. A pair of gold-rimmed glasses dangled on his face and his side profile was clean and handsome.

Sikong and Fu Qinglun were brothers. They were both extremely handsome and charismatic. Compared to Fu Qinglun, he was a lot gentler, but being a highly educated man, he had an aura of professionalism surrounding him, making him seem colder.

He was the most distinguished doctor in the entire world and also the owner of Herbal Room. His background was of the most elite as well. Whether it was his intelligence or good looks, it was enough to make one’s heart race.

“Doctor Sikong, I have a favor to ask of you once we reach Snow Mountain Residence,” Tang Mo’er said.

Sikong raised his head from a scientific report and looked sideways at Tang Mo’er. His black eyes behind the golden glasses were calm. “Speak, Miss Tang.”

At the Snow Mountain Residence.

The maids opened the main entrance and Tang Mo’er ran up the stairs to see Feng Lingxue. Feng Lingxue was lying on the bed peacefully. She looked extremely weak and seemed to be hanging onto life by a thread.

Tang Mo’er saw the word ‘slave’ on Feng Lingxue’s face. Each stroke had been dug into her skin, creating a mark that would be impossible to erase.

At this moment, a set of slow and heavy footsteps approached and stopped beside her. Tang Mo’er didn’t have to look to know it was Xuan Ying.

“Where is Sikong?”

His voice was rough.

Tang Mo’er turned around lightly and looked at the door. “Sikong is here.”

Sikong walked in. He took off his suit and replaced it with a white coat. The shirt inside covered his delicate wrists and his hands were pale and beautiful. Those hands were made for either playing the piano or practicing medicine.

One of the doctors inside followed behind him in admiration as the man looked over Feng Lingxue’s medical report.

On the side, Xuan Ying hadn’t slept the entire night and his eyes were bloodshot, making him look even more menacing. He looked at Sikong and said, “You have to save her!”

Sikong shut the report in his hands and walked over to the bed. “I will do my best.”

At this moment, with a ding, the ECG machine started shrilling. As Xuan Ying raised his head to look at it, the weak line on the ECG dived downwards and became flat.

“Oh god, this is not good. The patient no longer has a heartbeat!” One of the doctors exclaimed anxiously.

No heartbeat.

She had no heartbeat.

Xuan Ying’s mind was about to implode. He took a few steps back, his eyes filled with fear and disbelief. She had… stopped breathing.

How was this possible?

How was this possible?

He was utterly unprepared.

“Prepare the defibrillator!” Sikong instructed calmly.

“Yes sir.”

Xuan Ying continued backing away until his strong back was pressed against the cold wall. His mind was filled with only one image. As they registered the strong shock, Feng Lingxue’s delicate body bounced up before crashing down again violently, then bounced up again…

He looked at her face. She looked like she was sleeping and didn’t seem to be in any pain. The entire world had been silenced. He could no longer hear her breathe.

“The defibrillator isn’t working!”

“The patient doesn’t seem to be regaining a heartbeat!”

“The patient doesn’t have a heartbeat!”

“She’s dead!”

He had no idea who was speaking. The cacophony of voices blurred together in his head, making him feel as though his head was about to burst.

He saw Sikong let go, saw the nurses pull a white cloth over her head slowly.

All this played out in slow-motion in his mind. It was as though someone had reached over and ripped his live, beating heart out of his chest.

Pain.

Indescribable pain.

He finally moved. He ran over and pushed everyone aside. “Get lost! Everybody get lost!”

“Silver Mask King, please understand. The patient has passed on,” the doctor said sorrowfully.

Xuan Ying’s eyes were red. He glared vehemently at the doctor and shouted, “You’re lying. She’s not dead! How can she be dead? You are all lying to me!”

“Silver Mask King…”

Xuan Ying clapped his hands on Feng Lingxue’s shoulders and he shook her roughly. “Feng Lingxue, stop pretending to be asleep. Wake the hell up right now!

“You’ll never die, right? How can you be dead? Alright, I’m admitting defeat. I promise you, I’ll never humiliate you or give you away again. I’ll… treat you well in the future.

“Feng Lingxue, you’ve already achieved what you want. You can wake up now, open your eyes right now!”

Anger, hot boiling anger could only give way to defeat as Xuan Ying continued shaking Feng Lingxue roughly, but she had no reaction at all.

“Silver Mask King, please let the patient go peacefully…”

Seeing Xuan Ying lose himself in madness, the doctors and nurses all came over to restrain him.

“Get lost!”

Xuan Ying pushed them away, and they all fell like dominoes. But not before someone accidentally pulled on his silver mask. It fell onto the carpet with a dull thud.

His entire face had been revealed.

The left side of his face was exquisitely handsome, as though it had been drawn by god himself. But the right side of his face was marred with countless slashes. He was seething with rage right now, his veins throbbing and his eyes red. His face was distorted, making him look even more monstrous.

“Ah!” One of the nurses shrieked in fear.

But Xuan Ying wasn’t listening at all. He had no idea what was happening. His eyes were fixed only on Feng Lingxue.

Tang Mo’er took all this in and her gaze had changed as well. She quickly walked forward and said, “Silver Mask King, that’s enough. Lingxue has already gone.”

She had gone.

Had she gone?

Xuan Ying slowly reached out, putting his fingers just under her nose. There was… no breath.

She really wasn’t breathing anymore.

Xuan Ying retracted his fingers as though he had just been electrocuted. He got up and left the room quickly.

Xuan Ying shut himself in the wine cellar. Bottles after bottles of wine surrounded him and he gulped them down.

Everything was fine if he was drunk. All he had to do was to get drunk, fall asleep, and it would all be a dream the very next day.

It would be as though none of it ever happened.

His tall figure rolled off the chair onto the floor. He shut his eyes sorrowfully. Why wasn’t he drunk yet?

He couldn’t get drunk.

His heart hurt so much. He sat up and buried his hands into his hair, scratching at it roughly.
