Georgie POV
What the hell am I doing?
Selena was on the floor, coughing hard, one hand pressed to the tile as she glared up at me with eyes sharp enough to kill.
First, I was in my room.
Now, I'm in my bathroom.
And all I can do is stare down at her with a smirk, like she's beneath me. Looking at her like a dog. A lowly dog.
Her breathing was ragged, anger trembling through her frame, but the fire in her eyes never dimmed. She looked at me like she wanted to burn me alive with her glare.
Am I… sadistic?
Maybe I am.
Selena was coughing so hard, with saliva coming out of her mouth. Now she is looking like a true whore, a cheap whore in my bathroom, trying to swallow my whole dick.
Part of me wanted to just grab my guitar, walk out, and leave her behind—pretend nothing had happened. But my body moved on its own, dragging me back here, back into the fire of this confrontation.
Because I remembered her words.
Her mockery, She thought I was just a kid.
So here I am.
Towering over her, like i am above her.
"What are you looking at?" I sneered, my lips curling into a mocking smile.
I saw her hand tremble, but her eyes—those deadly eyes—never looked away.
I held her head still, my hand brushing over her hair slowly as our eyes locked. It felt like staring straight into her soul.
"Is that all you've got?" I whispered, my voice low. "Pathetic." I let out a heavy sigh.
I tightened my grip on her hair, forcing her to look up at me. "A whore like you can only suck a tiny dick?" my smirks widen.
Then I let go, stepping back toward the doorway without another glance at her. "Clean yourself up. Don't make me angry again." My words cut through the silence like a blade.
No, I'm not cumming inside her mouth, and I'm not making a mess with her. I just gave her a mouthful of my dick and shoved it to the bottom of her throat.
Like punishment.
I didn't even fuck her mouth like with Fenley, I just punished her until she couldn't breathe a few times and was coughing hard enough.
Selena stop coughing, trembling and glaring at me with fire still in her eyes. "…¡Hijo de puta!" she spat behind me.
I ignored her. I walked out of the bathroom, my chest tight but my steps steady. I grabbed my guitar from my room and headed back outside to the backyard.
To everyone else, nothing had happened. The laughter and chatter still filled the night, oblivious to the storm that had just passed behind closed doors.
"Where's Selena?" my mom asked, her eyes searching.
I kept my cool, though I let a touch of confusion show. "I don't know. I think she's still in the bathroom—I just handed her a towel earlier." I shrugged casually and took a seat at the table with the women.
Mary nodded, though her eyes quickly shifted to the guitar in my hands. "Are you gonna play something?" she asked, her tone bright with excitement. The other women perked up too, expectant smiles on their faces.
"Well… I was just trying to find the right melody for some lyrics I've been working on," I said, giving a lazy shrug.
"C'mon, Georgie!" some of the men by the grill called out. "Play us something! His radio sounds terrible anyway!"
"Hey!" I caught Dad swatting Herschel for that jab, which got a laugh out of everyone.
"Alright, alright—but I'm not singing alone," I said, tuning the guitar. "Y'all are singing with me!"
Missy, Bobby, and Billy scrambled to the front like kids waiting for a show. "What are you gonna play?!" Missy asked eagerly.
I glanced at the women. "Any requests?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Oooh!" Connie's voice cut through, a smirk tugging at her lips. "I have one. How about…" she let the pause hang before flashing me that grin. "George Michael. Careless Whisper."
"Nooo!" came the groans from the men.
"Oh, come on!"
"Not a gay song!" someone shouted again, earning a chorus of complaints from the dads while the women all nodded along, clearly delighted by the choice.
"I know that song!" Missy said excitedly. Bobby jumped in right after, "Let's play it, Georgie!"
Billy didn't even know the song, but he smiled and nodded anyway, swept up by Missy and Bobby's energy.
"…You really want to torture me, huh?" I muttered, shooting Connie a look. She just grinned wider, sipping her beer like she'd won.
Careless Whisper was meant for a saxophone—a smooth, sexy sound. And here I was, holding a guitar.
"What? You're the one who said we could request a song!" Connie shrugged innocently, as if it were my fault for asking.
Mary frowned at her, clearly displeased by the suggestion. "You don't have to play that, Georgie. Why not something country? Or maybe one of your own songs?"
I caught the proud little smile tugging at her lips. I knew exactly what she was doing—bragging, just a little, to the others.
That's when Veronica slid into the seat beside me, smiling softly. "How about a country love song?" she suggested.
"Nah…" I chuckled. "I'll play Careless Whisper. But y'all better sing it with me."
My eyes lingered on the women—especially Connie, who lifted her beer with a smug little smirk.
"Sure!" she said.
I let out a long sigh, my fingers hovering over the strings, when suddenly a hand touched my shoulder.
I glanced up—Selena. She stood there with a smile on her face, the picture of innocence.
"What are you doing?" she asked softly, her eyes darting curiously at everyone.
"Oh, Selena, come here!" Mary called, waving her over. "Georgie's about to play something. Do you know Careless Whisper by George Michael?" Her tone was full of excitement.
I almost choked. Seriously? This was the same woman who had just tried to stop me from playing it… and now she was acting like the biggest fan in the room.
Selena only smiled sweetly and took a seat beside Mary, fixing me with those innocent eyes.
I ignored her. I wasn't going to let her rattle me—not here. Not in front of everyone. Instead, I turned back to the circle of women.
"Alright, get your voices ready," I said, narrowing my eyes at them. "Because you're the ones who requested this song. I expect you all know the tempo and when to come in, right?"
"Just play the song already!" Darlene huffed, impatient. Brenda let out an exasperated sigh of her own.
"Alright, alright…" I muttered, focusing back on my guitar. Sliding a capo onto the fourth fret, I glanced up once more.
"I'll just focus on the guitar, okay?" I told them.
The unimpressed looks on their faces told me they weren't thrilled with that answer.
The backyard grew quiet as I settled the guitar on my lap, capo fixed at the fourth fret. I let my fingers hover above the strings for a second, just long enough to catch everyone's attention.
Then—tap, slap, pluck.
The opening chords of Careless Whisper spilled out, not in the smooth saxophone line they all knew, but in a cascade of fingerstyle patterns. My thumb tapped the body of the guitar like a drum, my palm slapped the strings for rhythm, and my fingers danced across the fretboard—each note ringing clean and sharp.
The melody bent and slid with a jazzy edge, the bassline thumping steady beneath it. The guitar wasn't just playing—it was singing, grooving, carrying the whole song like a one-man band.
Gasps broke out around me.
Mary's eyes went wide. Connie nearly dropped her beer. Even the men by the grill froze mid-conversation, staring like they'd just seen a ghost.
I stopped playing right there and looked around at them. "Hey! Y'all said you wanted to sing!" I snorted, making them flush with embarrassment for losing the tempo.
The men at the grill just raised their beers and cheered. "That's sick, Georgie!"
The teachers were wide-eyed, still recovering. "Ugh… I got goosebumps!" Principal Peterson muttered, holding up his arm to show the others.
Even Pastor Jeff was struck silent, his mouth hanging open. He'd heard me sing before, live in church, with songs I'd written myself…but this? This was something else.
In fact, ever since that day, Pastor Jeff said had gone home and bought my album. He wasn't even a country fan, but he found himself listening over and over. Especially God's Country, the way it spoke about faith and the universe struck something deep inside him.
Connie, on the other hand, looked embarrassed after my jab, though she quickly pulled herself together and lifted her chin. "…Just play the whole damn song!" she blurted shamelessly.
Her words were met with immediate agreement…women, children, even the men at the grill all shouting their support.
Veronica smiled at me, her eyes shining with pride. And across the yard, Mary wore a smug little grin of her own, soaking up the moment like it was her personal victory too.
That's when Sheldon appeared at my side, arms crossed, his face pulled into that signature frown of his.
"Actually," he began, voice cutting through the noise, "it's Careless Whisper. Singular. Not 'Whispers.' You've all been grammatically incorrect this entire scene."
A beat of silence followed, then Missy groaned dramatically. "I tell him…Sheldon, nobody cares!"
The dads at the grill burst out laughing, Connie rolled her eyes, and even Principal Peterson chuckled.
I shot Sheldon a look, but before I could say anything, he added, "Still… your guitar arrangement was surprisingly effective. Though scientifically speaking, the saxophone is capable of far richer tonal expression."
"Translation," Missy said loudly, smirking at him, "'Brother, you sound good'."
The crowd laughed again, and Sheldon's ears went pink before he shot glare at Missy who just kept smirking at him.
"Come here, baby," Mary said, pulling Sheldon close against her side. He leaned in, still red-faced with embarrassment and glaring at Missy.
"Play it, Georgie," Mary added, her eyes full of expectation.
From the corner of my vision, I caught Selena smiling at Sheldon… before turning her gaze back to me.
"Hufft… I knew this was gonna happen," I muttered under my breath, grumbling as every pair of eyes landed on me.
"Don't be such a brat!" Connie shot back, raising her beer. "Think of it as practice!"
All those stares burned into me. I sighed, then threw up my hands. "Alright!" I barked, annoyed, but already sliding the guitar back into position.
From the corner of my eye, I caught Veronica chuckling softly. She leaned closer, her voice a whisper meant only for me. "You act like it's a burden… but you're smiling."
I pretended not to hear her, clearing my throat as if I needed to focus on the guitar.
The yard grew quiet again, all eyes on me. My fingers began to move, coaxing out that same sultry melody, an acoustic guitar trying to imitate a saxophone, every note dripping with a kind of swagger that made the night air hum.
I let the notes build, knocking the body of the guitar for percussion, letting harmonics shimmer in the air, until the melody rolled right into the verse.
And then, I started to sing.
(George Michael - Careless Whispers - Guitar Play like Alexander Misko)
"I feel so unsure…
As I take your hand, and lead you to the dance floor…"
My voice slipped out low and smooth, blending perfectly with the guitar's rhythm. The lyrics curled around the backyard like smoke, sultry, heavy, impossible to ignore.
"As the music dies…
Something in your eyes…"
I let a soft, moaned edge creep into my voice, just like George Michael himself, each note dripping with something sensual.
My fingers kept moving, the fingerstyle now simpler than the flashy intro, but richer, unique in its own way, carrying the groove forward.
"Calls to mind a silver screen…
And all its sad goodbyes…"
I knocked the body of the guitar with my palm, each percussive thump filling the silence between melodies, my own drumbeat to drive the song.
The tempo shifted as I moved into the chorus, my voice rising, my hands flowing without thought.
I didn't even realize what was happening, too lost in the music….but out of the corner of my eye, I caught them. Some of the parents, the ones who had brought their wives, were standing near the edge of the yard, swaying to the rhythm. Their bodies moved slow and easy, carried by the groove.
"I'm never gonna dance again!
Guilty feet have got no rhythm…
Though it's easy to pretend…"
I lifted my head as I sang, my eyes locking on Veronica beside me.
"I know you're not a fool…"
The words left my mouth with a weight I couldn't disguise. My gaze softened, my eyes dropping, heavy with guilt. I wasn't just singing anymore, I was drowning in the feeling, lost in the confession hidden between every note.
"i should have known better than to cheat a friend…
And waste the chance that i'd been given!"
I know this is wrong, it's like a confession kepada Veronica, but i can't stop it right now.
No, I can stop it.
But… I don't want to.
"So i'm never gonna dance again…
The way i dance with you… oh!"
My fingers didn't stop. The melody kept pouring into the night, filling every corner of the backyard. I focused on the guitar, refusing to let go.
Veronica's eyes went wide. I felt her tug at my sleeve, insistent, but I didn't stop.
People were still swaying, caught in the rhythm, letting it carry them under the glow of the porch lights.
"Time can never mend…
The careless whisper of a good friend…"
Should I stop?
This getting hurts.
"What?!" someone shouted from the crowd, but my fingers kept plucking, ignoring the voice.
"To the heart and mind, ignorance is kind…
There's no comfort in the truth… pain is all you'll find!"
The tug at my sleeve grew tighter. Still, I wouldn't stop.
Why?
Because I knew I'd do it again. And again. And again.
"...Yeah, I'm never gonna dance again…
Guilty feet have got no rhythm…
Though it's easy to pretend…
I know you're not a fool…"
And then…I stopped the guitar.
My voice carried into the darkness alone, stripped raw without accompaniment. A cracked sound, heavy with guilt, charm, and apology all at once.
"I should've known better… than to cheat a friend…
And waste the chance that I'd been given…"
I lifted my eyes to the night sky.
Why couldn't I look at Veronica?
Because I knew the truth.
I'd promised myself before.
But I kept doing it again, again, again.
"…So I'm never gonna dance again…
The way I danced with you…"
