Chapter 1665 - 938: Illegal Space

Only to see Old Gao with his eyes tightly closed, after a long while, he shook his head and sighed, "This Small Realm of the Old Graveyard is ultimately too small."

"I can feel the space here is under strict surveillance. If we casually construct unauthorized space, those True Gods might detect it."

Zhang Yu nodded slightly in agreement and said, "The Old Graveyard is indeed too small, and the True Gods can easily detect if there’s any change in space here."

Moreover, Zhang Yu understood that as an important public Small Realm, the Old Graveyard generates significant profits for various sects every year, providing a vast number of Soul Cultivators. If the space structure here undergoes any unusual changes, it would certainly attract the attention of many people inside and outside the sects.

But Old Gao was still unwilling to concede.

It didn’t matter before as he didn’t have the capability, but now that he has the ability to create unauthorized space, as an old civil engineering person, he feels an itching desire to steal some space.

So he said, "This Small Realm won’t do, let’s go to the Central Extreme Heaven and see if there’s any opportunity there."

Zhang Yu knew that the Central Extreme Heaven was within the 11th to 20th levels of Kunxu, where each level has its central public space, being the largest area of each level.

And when Old Gao arrived at the Central Extreme Heaven, he immediately felt something different.

"This is..."

Although Old Gao had come to the Central Extreme Heaven many times before, he had never mastered the Dao Seed of [Building World] or had the ability to set up unauthorized space, so he naturally never sensed...the spatial anomaly inside the Central Extreme Heaven.

But at this moment, in Old Gao’s perception, the entire spatial structure of Central Extreme Heaven seemed to have turned into an ocean.

Not only was it vast like the ocean, it also constantly rose and fell like waves.

"The entire space seems to be alive."

Old Gao marveled, "With each rise and fall, why does it behave this way?"

Zhang Yu, hearing Old Gao’s exclamation, tried to switch his Dao Seed to [Building World] to see what was going on.

Even though Zhang Yu could use the Dao Seed Chart from "Yu Shu" to duplicate others’ Dao Seeds for his own use, the Dao Seeds are categorized into different types.

The same type of Dao Seeds, like [Three-Eyed Divine Power] and [Green Lotus Sword Embryo], belong to the same category and he can only activate one at a time.

[Deep Cold Magical Vein] and [Green Lotus Sword Embryo], belonging to different categories, can take effect simultaneously.

Since [Building World] and [Immortal Descendant] belong to the same type, Zhang Yu temporarily switched off [Immortal Descendant] and activated [Building World].

Immediately, he felt a temporary disconnection from the Immortal Cave Heaven, but simultaneously, he sensed a tremendous change in the world he saw.

"Is it truly alive?" Zhang Yu exclaimed in his mind, "The entire world...breathes?"

Meanwhile, Teacher Gao realized and shook his head saying, "No, something’s not right."

During this period, Old Gao attended numerous supplementary classes to improve his knowledge and skills regarding arrays and space within the sect.

After observing for a while, he also realized, "Indeed, the space size in Central Extreme Heaven is continuously changing, because many people in the Ten Great Sects are influencing spatial change."

"Every moment, this space witnesses massive usage of space technology, leading some space to be devoured and some to be released."

"Thus, I perceive the entire space is expanding and contracting constantly, undergoing fluctuations akin to a living entity."

Old Gao sighed, "Particularly, many projects involving sect secrets, I fear data between the major sects and the Heavenly Court isn’t entirely shared either?"

"In this case, hidden amidst such spatial fluctuations...creating some unauthorized space might also be hard to detect, right?"

Right then, Old Gao seemed to sense something, suddenly looking up at the direction of the higher levels of Kunxu.

"Not right, it’s not only simple space technology applications but other influences too..."

Under the perception of [Building World], he seemed to vaguely sense...in the upper directions of Kunxu, there were forms like countless black holes, silently devouring public spaces.

These space-devouring black holes were densely packed, scattered across the upper layers of Kunxu like stars.

"Starting from the 15th level, the higher it goes, the more it consumes..."

"Could this be..." Old Gao chuckled bitterly, shaking his head and sighed, "I fear the encroachment of public space... has long been happening from above."

"Those Small Realms and Grotto Heavens belonging to the Upper Cultivators have always been quietly encroaching on public space, even causing the lower layers of space to be continuously drawn upwards."

Zhang Yu also perceived all this, feeling as if the entire Kunxu was upside down, the lower layer space being like sand in an hourglass, was continuously trickling upwards.

Originally belonging to the public space for many Lower Cultivators, it was actually being encroached bit by bit every moment by the Upper Cultivators.

Although the entire process is extremely slow, it is continuous...

"So, is our world actually shrinking endlessly?"

"If this continues, won’t there come a day when each Upper Cultivator controls a world while Lower Cultivators have no place to stand?"

"In the end, there might be no public space left, and Lower Cultivators from birth to death remain in the private spaces of Upper Cultivators, wouldn’t they be like lifelong tenants? Sharecroppers?"

At this moment, Zhang Yu suddenly had a deeper understanding of what Tai Yue Bai meant by the End Days.

Zhang Yu sighed in his heart, "It’s not just about realms, cultivation, or wealth...even the space on which all beings depend for survival is steadily moving towards a doomsday."
