Chapter 761: Chapter 762: Two Earth Sovereigns!

Chapter 762: Two Earth Sovereigns!

High in the sky, Liu Xuanjian narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked toward the distant horizon.

A tide of demonic clouds rolled in from afar, carrying a murderous aura as they swept into position overhead.

Within them stood a silver-armored army, their pitch-black battle intent roaring like a flood.

A faint, sinister demonic aura coiled through their ranks, making the entire unit seem like a legion of fiends suspended in midair.

“Hehe, so this is Silver Mist Palace’s Silver Mist Guard? They look a bit different from the rumors,” Liu Xuanjian murmured, his gaze sharpening.

At a glance, the force before him looked far more like a demon army than anything else.

“I’ve long heard that Dragon Might Cult’s Three Thousand Dragon Soldiers are extraordinary. Seeing them today, I’ll admit there’s some truth to that,” Lin Langtian said as his figure appeared above the Silver Mist Guards, eyes resting calmly on Liu Xuanjian’s green-clad form.

“You must be that new commander from Silver Mist Palace, Lin Langtian,” Liu Xuanjian replied. “I heard that not long ago, Ten Thousand Demons Gate was destroyed, Old Demon Geng fled with serious injuries, and even the Ten Thousand Demons Legion fell to you?”

Lin Langtian simply smiled and glanced toward the battered Blazing Fire Guards in the distance.

“Commander Liu, with the chaos of war all around us, perhaps you should pull your men back,” he suggested lightly.

“Oh? So you want to save them?”

Liu Xuanjian’s smile turned playful as his azure halberd leveled toward Lin Langtian.

“If you want to rescue them, that’s fine. I’m just afraid you’ll lose yourself in the process.”

He had heard of the Silver Mist Guards’ recent exploits, but none of it was enough to truly trouble him.

After all, as Dragon Might Cult’s chief commander, there were only a handful of leaders in the entire Domain of Chaos who could stand at his level.

“If words won’t do…” Lin Langtian’s dark eyes flashed coldly. “Then let’s settle this with our fists.”

Without another word, he drove his foot down.

Below, the Silver Mist Guards roared as one.

Black battle intent erupted skyward, laced with frigid demonic might.

They were even more terrifying than they had been a month before.

Hum.

At the same time, Liu Xuanjian swept out a sleeve.

Echoing dragon roars shook the air as Dragon Might battle intent surged upward, swirling around him in a howling storm.

Its keen edge felt sharp enough to tear the sky apart.

“Commander Lin, if you want to save them, try taking one of my blows!” Liu Xuanjian laughed.

His eyes, however, held no trace of warmth.

His hands blurred through a sequence of seals.

“Dragon Might Battle Intent—World-Annihilating Dragon Claw!”

Whoosh!

His battle intent swept outward, condensing into a titanic dragon claw formed entirely of razor-sharp will.

It gleamed cold and deadly, its ancient patterns radiating lethal power.

Even the air split wherever it passed.

The blow lacked any ostentatious flourish, but its raw sharpness was chilling.

Liu Xuanjian clearly had no intention of holding back.

He lifted his hand and flicked his finger.

The giant claw shot forward like a falling star, space shuddering in its wake.

In the reflection of Lin Langtian’s pupils, the vast claw grew rapidly larger.

Yet his expression did not change.

His seals shifted.

Below him, Silver Mist battle intent surged once more, condensing into a pitch-black fist imprint wreathed in demonic light.

“Silver Mist Battle Intent—Silver Mist Demonic Fist!”

He thrust his arm out.

The fist imprint streaked forward, colliding head-on with the onrushing dragon claw.

Boom!

The two forces slammed into each other, warping the surrounding sky.

The shockwave rolled out in violent waves, yet neither army wavered.

Countless eyes on the ground watched in shock.

It was obvious that the Three Thousand Dragon Soldiers’ attack had failed to break the Silver Mist Guards’ line.

“These Silver Mist Guards seem even stronger than when they fought the Calamity Guards,” a sharp-eyed expert murmured.

“Change the commander, change the blade. Since Lin Langtian took over, they’ve been unstoppable.”

In the distance, Commander Li Tang of the Blazing Fire Guards wore a complicated expression.

When Lin Langtian had first been named commander of the Silver Mist Guards, Li Tang had scoffed.

He had never believed that someone from a lower plane could accomplish much.

But events since then had proven him very wrong.

Under Lin Langtian’s hand, the once-obscure Silver Mist Guards had risen step by step into dazzling prominence.

Now, they could stand toe-to-toe with the famed Three Thousand Dragon Soldiers themselves.

“Commander, should we help?” one of the Blazing Fire Guards asked quietly.

Li Tang shook his head. “That won’t be necessary. Liu Xuanjian can’t handle Lin Langtian right now, and the two of them won’t truly clash here.”

And indeed, Liu Xuanjian’s brow furrowed slightly as he watched his attack fail to move the Silver Mist Guards.

Moments later, he smiled.

“It seems the rumors were true. Commander Lin really isn’t to be underestimated.”

“You flatter me,” Lin Langtian replied evenly.

“Since you’ve personally stepped in, I’ll give you some face and let the Blazing Fire Guards go for today,” Liu Xuanjian said with an easy grin. “Let’s see if you can stay this calm when we truly fight.”

With a clasp of his hands, he turned and led his troops away without hesitation.

Lin Langtian watched the retreating figures, eyes narrowing slightly.

As expected of Dragon Might Cult’s chief commander—Liu Xuanjian was clearly a troublesome opponent.

“Commander Langtian, our thanks,” Li Tang said as he approached with the Blazing Fire Guards in tow, bowing deeply.

“There’s no need for that. We’re all from the Heaven-Earth Sect—it’s only right to help,” Lin Langtian replied with a returning salute.

Blazing Fire King was known for his neutrality.

A favor such as this wouldn’t bind him in any deep way, but it would certainly bring Silver Mist Palace and Blazing Fire Palace a bit closer together.

A rare smile touched Li Tang’s usually stern face. His impression of Lin Langtian had clearly improved.

“Since you’re here, Commander, Silver Mist King must be as well. This battle won’t start without her,” he said.

“She’s already gone ahead to meet with the three elders,” Lin Langtian confirmed.

Li Tang nodded, about to speak again when a deep drumbeat rolled across the battlefield from the distant horizon.

It pulsed with surging battle intent.

“That’s the Domain of Chaos’s war drums!”

Li Tang’s face tightened.

“What is it?” Lin Langtian asked.

“They’re starting the battle,” Li Tang said grimly. “Commander Langtian, we must return to the main camp at once.”

Lin Langtian’s brows rose.

So the Domain of Chaos was that eager to begin the final clash.

There was no time to dwell on it.

With a sweep of his arm, he shot ahead alongside Li Tang, both armies following at full speed.

The ancient drums grew louder and clearer with every passing moment.

After about half an hour at full speed, the two commanders gradually slowed.

Looking ahead, they saw the barrier over Chaos City slowly split open.

Countless figures surged out of the gap like a swarm of locusts, darkening the sky and blotting out the sun.

Arrayed against them on the other side was an equally vast mass of shadow, stretching to the horizon.

Overwhelming spiritual pressure boiled up from both sides.

Heaven and earth dimmed as the two forces met face to face.

Chaos City’s skies were black with soldiers.

Lin Langtian led the Silver Mist Guards in merging with the Heaven-Earth Sect’s army, gazing at the teeming legion overhead.

“If this battle truly ignites,” he murmured, “the world itself may go dark.”

Even with the sect’s might, devouring the entire Domain of Chaos would not be cheap.

As he pondered, three figures rose above Chaos City’s army.

All eyes turned toward them with instinctive respect and fear.

The first was a gaunt old man in red robes, his face cold and severe, his eyes glowing like molten rock.

A single glance from him felt like being scorched.

Beside him stood a black-robed elder so thin he looked like a walking corpse, his body wrapped in a chilling aura that made everyone present uncomfortable.

On the right stood a man in blue.

His frame was slim, his hands clasped behind his back.

His features were unremarkable, but his eyes were long and narrow like a dragon’s, hiding unfathomable force.

At their appearance, the Domain of Chaos’s morale exploded, thunderous cheers rocking the heavens.

“Hehe, won’t you three old friends show yourselves?”

The red-robed elder smiled faintly, his voice reaching every ear on the battlefield.

“Hehe, if we’re about to cross weapons, ‘old friends’ seems a bit much,” a familiar voice chuckled in reply.

Three figures appeared before the Heaven-Earth Sect’s army—the three elders of the sect, with the Grand Elder stepping to the front.

As they emerged, the sect’s forces roared with fresh vigor.

“Jie jie, you’ve overreacted a bit, haven’t you?”

The skeletal black-robed elder—the Black Demon Sect’s master—let out a rasping laugh. “We only snatched a few border cities, yet you march out your full strength.”

“Anything that harms our sect’s reputation is no small matter,” the Grand Elder replied coolly. “Since your Domain of Chaos dared provoke us, you’ll have to accept the consequences.”

“Your Heaven-Earth Sect’s name may be grand, but that’s all in the past,” the red-robed Blazing Fist Gate Master said softly. “The Domain of Chaos is no pushover.

“And with only the three of you present… without your Sect Master, I doubt you can take us.”

The Grand Elder’s eyes flashed coldly.

“It seems you’re quite eager to see me.”

The new voice cut through the air like thunder.

With it came a crushing weight that fell upon the battlefield, blanketing tens of thousands of meters in an instant.

All eyes snapped toward the Heaven-Earth Sect’s lines.

Golden light gathered in front of the three elders, condensing into a radiant throne.

Upon it sat a single figure, wrapped in light from head to toe.

Even shrouded, the sheer force of his presence pressed on every chest.

“Sect Master!”

The three elders stiffened in brief surprise, then bowed at once.

Behind them, the sect’s entire army bent low as one, their salute shaking the sky.

On the other side, the Domain of Chaos’s roar died almost instantly.

A wave of fear rippled through their ranks.

Everyone there knew that even their three great leaders would not dare act recklessly before this man.

The Blazing Fist Gate Master’s face went stiff.

He felt that cold, distant gaze fall upon him from the throne and a chill climbed up from the soles of his feet.

He had reached the high Sovereign realm.

But before a true Earth Sovereign like the Heaven-Earth Sect Master, he was nothing.

“Hehe, Brother Qian, long time no see,” a gentle laugh drifted down, cutting through the tension. “It seems you’ve been well.”

Space above Chaos City tore open.

A man in black robes stepped out.

His bearing was refined, his eyes dark and deep as abyssal pits.

He smiled pleasantly, yet the suffocating weight pouring from the throne was caught and dispersed the moment it touched him.

Seeing the newcomer, the three Domain of Chaos leaders exhaled in relief.

For this was the master of the Earth Desolation Palace—Huang Kurong.
